@@scottmcwave9479 Maybe for a few hours a few days per year in the Summer when it is 80 degrees F you might be able to wear Shorts and a T-Shirt. The rest of the time be prepared for 50-60 degrees F with a 5-15mph Ocean breeze.
How often does this actually break? I mean it looks like a miracle that you get such decent A frames considering you have the land masses on either side. Does it need to be a really perfect swell direction for this to even happen? It’s almost like it’s peeling around a corner under the bridge from that shot angle.
@@hospagalief Yeah its an awesome wave to watch. You can almost see em coming from the open ocean and then they just start peeeeling all the way in. It will break on pretty much any W-NW, but it tends to be pretty mushy, especially at high tide.
Thanks for all the feedback 🤙🏻 I mean I have see swell swing around landmass obviously but seeing waves literally wrap around a corner in the space of a few hundred yard is amazing to see. I couldn’t believe it when I first watched the video.
"Novelty Surf Spot" Ha, I like that! This break is fun once in a while, but surfing Fort Point when you're 5 miles from Ocean Beach is like going bouldering in Yosemite.
Is there a risk of getting pulled out past the outside sets and ending up where you don't want to be.... like open ocean or a shipping lane? Waves do look good though!
Yes happened to me once. If this happens there is a current that can take you back in Ask a fishing boat.. I was near the container ships 🤨 savedy bacon
Why no spongers? At least you could jump in the drink and surf 🏄🏽♂️ to get warmed up! Days like this it’s much warmer in the sea 🌊 then on the beach 💯 air temp 50’ ocean 59’ perfect 🤌
I've probably seen 100 videos of this spot and in every one there's maybe one or 2 guys that have any real ability or style. I don't know of any other spot that takes as much commitment as this spot that has so many shit surfers. Almost seems impossible.
Yeah it seems the guard has changed even 10 years ago you were liable to get your ass beat even if you weren't a kook/disrespected the line up, but you nowadays if you aren't at 7 figures you are living on the streets in SF and you know, safe space, localism doesn't sell wavestorms and that's what it's all about
These dudes are crazy i fish out of their and i kno how many great whites are roaming around their and the currents when incoming and out going tides are insane, one time i seen a sail boat got caught right under the GG going in circles because the tide was so strong he couldnt get out of it until the coast guard had to pull them out, these guys have balls!!!
Nothing like Warm Water and Air Temperature and Clear and Sunny Skies.
damn near tropical

@@sanfranciscobay I was being sarcastic! 😀
@@sanfranciscobay the waters cold for the first 10-15 secs, then its all

😂😂😂 yeah toasty
RIP Haruwn, a year ago this day. His memorial paddle out was the day before this on the 12th.
my buddy
@@psenick I read about that. Sorry for your loss. From an English bodyboarder living in Canada.

It does peel around corner

Breaks Everytime the tide is below 2.0 and swell above 5 feet out at ocean Beach.
Lower the tide the better.

Looks pretty fun and mellow.. no foilers )
Ya mostly mellow this day 🤙
My thing is, how do the waves build in that spot, the bridge is right there
For these waves there needs to be A LOT of wave energy in the ocean
Like nearly 20 foot swell
Such a cool wave
Nice Thumbnail Photo. Leaves the impression that it's like this all the time.
Nice bro, I've been wanting to surf this spot for a very long time now, could never get the right timing for it, so sad that I missed it this week!
Season is just starting 😎🤙
Fun waves right in the city.
💯
i see the surfers jumping in at that point, but do they exit the same way? those shells on the rocks will do some damage to your feet and hands
Same. Rock with Barnacles will shred you. I don’t know how are you get out of the water. Sweet waves though
If it's rough just paddle over to the Crissy field warming hut
Most have booties so it's not too bad
What is the current like? And how do you come in? Is it the same way as going out climbing up on the rocks?
Can be pretty treacherous for sure. Yes you just find a rock or area that looks safe to climb back to shore on
A woman jumped of the bridge and landed in the surf that saved her.....the ultimate drop in!
@@sandyanderson9117 I'm doing alright Sandy.
😂
fluffy day but fun to see a few waves from Cody, Sam and myself. thanks for sharing even though it wasnt a epic session.
Sure thing! Agreed not epic but still looked like a blast
Some nice ones!!✌️❤️

Yes. Coast guard saves many surfers each year. Usually on outgoing tides. I only would ever surf here when tide was going low to high tide.
Yeah you can get sucked out easily....into a shipping lane
I got sucked out once. You have to come in at Baker beach and walk back. It’s a pain.
How long does it take to get there?
Seems to be a lot of decent swell around this winter season. Unusual?
We've definitely had a couple solid swells already this year but not as many days with offshore wind as I remember
Floater at 3:20. WTG, old guy
The Water is 300 feet deep in the center of the Bridge.

Good question 🤔😂
how bad is current?
Has anybody ever seen a person paddle out there with a longboard (9ft or longer)?
No
It looks like the current is so heavy
I’m waiting for all the comments on how they are not ripping hard enough
I like it… just iconic spot… Curren Did it… Yeah…
Thank you for watching! 🌉
Best on a minus tide the lower the better. Best on outgoing 1 hour before peak and swing. March is the best month in the mornings -2.0 epic epic 😎
@norcal surfer are you going to upload the raw footage? Was out there that sesh and wanna see if you caught any of mine.
it's fun to surf in sewage get some great staff infections

FORT POINT.....GET IT RIGHT....
Braaaah I did not know that slabs like that appear under that Bridge. Aloha to everyone and stay safe!!
"Slack tide" don't think about the tide
Quite possibly one of the radest breaks in the nation, but this was painful to watch.
Crazy current, cold, mushy once you make the drop. It’s a sewer pipe woke wave representative of the city no one can ever desire to visit.
Mostly not worth the effort , especially when there are other spots firing nearby.
mush burger
Bird up!
Brrrr

Come on! Somebody always photoshops this spot with those nasty rocks and that big orange thing in the background.
2-3 Hawaiian

I am Florida's toughest swimmer I wish I was there swimming in giant waves
It surely is picturesque, but a mediocre Wave at best...
