East Hartford Fire Department: Getting things done differently, by doing it differently

The East Hartford Fire Department is committed to the prevention of fires and the protection of lives, property, and the environment. The Department’s major areas of emergency response include fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, and hazardous materials incidents. The EHFD has engaged in an employee-centric culture where decision-making is done at the level appropriate for the situation. Developing a holistic diversity recruitment program to remove employment equity barriers is an ongoing project and a core value of the department.
