We save the world from destruction, and everyone seems pretty upset about that. Carbon thinks Grodan is cool, and Professor Honesty thinks we are shameful and should all be puppies for the Shadow Queen and Grodan. Peach tells Mario to go home, admits she likes TEC more than him, and tells everyone she sees dark days ahead for them. Viviana says she will forget her time with us, and Goombell, the thirstiest character in this adventure, friend-zones us.
This is what happens when you take Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and run it through Google Translate one too many times. You're left with "Book of Mario: Thousands of Doors." You'd be surprised how much this completely changes certain characters, affects the story, and how many ridiculous comments there are. I streamed this in November 2019, but just a warning, some of the clips are a full of innuendos and language. Of course, this mod is not endorsed by Nintendo.
My personal favorite aspect is when the lore from this translation is unintentionally expanded upon. For example, Koops, now "Carbon," is always talking about wanting to destroy cities, wants to "end" his father and everyone else, and considers Mario his lover. These mistranslations are somewhat consistent throughout the entire game.
I'm taking a break from the glitch content since I burn out easily. When you play a game for hours every day with the sole intention of finding or explaining glitches, this is bound to happen I suppose. This best explains my tendency to disappear from the channel for months at a time. I figured we could try something different this time, in the form of the stream highlights format a lot of you guys seem to enjoy. Thank you for understanding!!

I don't know, I never interpreted that as Carbon actually thinking its nice. It seemed more like what someone would say after they tell an annoying person that their day wasn't very good, and said annoying person immediately starts talking about how great their day was.
And is it me, or does Carbon seem like the most consistent and developed character in this mod? He has to be my favorite character here. Helps that Koops is already a fave of mine.
I think it’s because Koops is the most developed character in the base game. So he gets a lot of extra love in the mod by necessity. Plus Carbons plan of world domination and patricide is by far the most interesting sub plot ever.

I wish it was, if Luigi's translated character was as interesting as Carbon for example, I could only imagine what his goals and personality would be like. Maybe Fatguy703 simply couldn't publish it because he was scared of what it ended up being.
That being said, I would be ecstatic if someone could put all of Luigi's adventure into Google translate and post it...

Carbon is amazing. He went from feeling empty and seeking world domination to loving himself at the end of the quest. In the end, he realized he didn't need to take over the world to feel fulfilled, but save it.

The Shadow Queen took form, and the entire Mushroom Kingdom - no, the world - was in danger of coming to an end. It was at this point that Carbon realized his mind had not been in the right place. He had been so self-centered and psychotic, bottling up his feelings to the point where he had strongly considered genocide against all those he loved. Deep inside he was changing. His passion for murder transformed into snarky comebacks. His hatred for his friends and family changed into love and care. He knew what he had to do, and while he was still unsure of everything that was going on around him, he gathered his courage and his newfound feelings to help Gunsales take down this evil queen.
When the entire ordeal was over, Carbon realized that he had gained value for himself and had grown stronger in many ways. He even learned that it was okay to love himself. More confident in himself, he returned home to Koo Koopie and his father, though the fate of both of them is still unknown.
And thus concludes... the tale of Carbon. The best anime character arc to this day.

Delta Mudkip8 I think that part is said no matter who Mario’s partner is. It seems Stryder wasn’t hung up on the war subplot as much as he was fully exploring Carbon’s character. (Like having him even say he DOESN’T want to kill Shadow Queen or save the world)

Carbon's arch as an aspiring tyrant, as far as I came to understand it:
He is a prince, so step one to ruling is killing his father. Furthermore the mayor of Petalburg eats people. Now what was Carbon's motivation?
Eating Hoko Saba and then destroying Petalburg. The first step in his design, he'd usurp power by killing his father, taking the throne and legitimizing his rule by having eaten an entire dragon.
And of course Petalburg also would be his first target to "end all".
On the journey, his moveset revealed his superior airforce (flying the shell against all enemies on earth) and later on even nuclear weaponry (nuclear noise)
so we know he's been planning this well.
He is extremly affectionate towards Mario to ensure he can stay along for and unlock his powers. By the end he indeed was so strong he'd talk smack to the Queen of Shadows herself (You were talking?") and even leading up to this point we see, Carbon just does not take the danger ahead serious anymore, as indicated by all his innocently nonesensical utterings, like "Do you fish?"
Peach herself speaks of a terrible darkness that is inbound. That darkness indeed is Carbon's true rise to power. Goombell only hints at it after the credits as her speech is already censored by the growing influence of Carbon:

followed by
"The mayor wants to be the mayor and live safe"
Goombell adds to this, quite tellingly "Think about it" So Carbon has now decisivly taken over and is threatening the old mayor's life, since he is probably done with his father by now.
That is why Mario was "shameful"... Frankly knew that Carbon was the true threat and that is why he and Peach at the end and throughout the adventure at times express support for Grodan&Co.
Carbon truly is the gem of this mod.

I believe the prevailing theory is that it's supposed to be King K in this scene but they used the wrong koopa, given his character in BoMToD he could be attempting to refer to Mario's or his own love.
Though him moving on from Mario with Hawc Green is also an interesting possibility, maybe he's the wrong colour in solidarity with Hawc Green?
Wasn't Rawk already married to Bowser in this universe, though? Unless they've got some kind of polygamy setup going on I guess.
