  • Here I am taking my nephews Line 6 Spider iii 150 watt combo amp and showing how easily it can be made into a 16 ohm external speaker cabinet. It has the celestion C12P-80 speakers, which I believe are the 70/80 speakers just in the less common 8 ohm type. So it’s a rocking cabinet, construction is pretty decent. It is particle board construction, but the baffleboard itself is plywood! It has a good resonance, and the open back complements these speakers very well. All in all, if you’re in the market for a 212 cabinet- you can pick up one of these amps used for way less money than a speaker cabinet, and never use the amp if you don’t want to. But it makes for a good backup if your main amp goes down. Thanks for watching

Brilliant, I was going to get the Harley Benton 2x12 Celestion v30 loaded but found it was 8 ohm. I suppose this would work with my Marshall DSL1 which is 16 ohm amp. Cheers bud.

I am loading a new video in a week, where I have this amp again and permanently wire it with jacks so you can use it either as a 4/16 ohm mono cabinet or 8/8 ohm stereo cabinet…stay tuned

Great vid.....I was thinking the same to pair with my Orange Micro Dark. Thanks

That 20 watt Orange micro dark going through this Line6 wired to be an extension cabinet......will be totally brutal! You better get some ear plugs, it will rip your ear drums out! There won’t be a single stage where the P/A guy will let you turn it all the way up. Other guitarists will laugh at your gear...until you switch it on and start playing. Come back and thank me later when you have a Marshall killing rig for cheap money 💰

I have a Line 6 Spider 2 75 watt guitar combo amplifier, but I would love to use it as an external Speaker Cabinet for my Line 6 Spider V mk2 60 watt guitar combo amplifier.
However, my line 6 Spider V Mk2 60 watt guitar combo amplifier doesn't have any kind of external cabinet output/input.... how should I go about this?
I'm looking to take this out to the streets, to showcase my guitar skills, but My Line 6 Spider V Mk2 60 watt amp needs an external guitar cabinet (speaker) for a much wider audience so to speak.
Any helpful tips, tricks, ideas, etc. would be great.
    Thanks.

What exactly about the video doesn’t apply to your situation?

Great video explanation. Question: wrt the yellow wire you made, is that speaker wire? What gauge wire is it? I'm trying to replicate what you made. thx.

It’s not speaker wire per se. I believe it’s either 14 or 16 gauge wire that hardware stores stock in the electrical aisle. Those large spools that they will cut a few feet off for you.

I am not familiar with exactly how a helix works, so I can’t offer any advice

I just hooked a Marshall dsl20 head onto my spider3 75 watt combo, 1x12. Sounds like shit. I just got the amp yesterday and haven't aquired cab as of yet. But it's better than nothing at the moment. If I may ask, do you think replacing the stock speaker with a vintage 30 would improve the sound. I'm sure the spider cab is composite.

If you like vintage 30 speakers, then I am sure it will be great. I don’t think cabinet material is that big of a deal. The baffle board if you look closer should be actual plywood. What is it about the tone you don’t like?

It’s a really great great extension cabinet that sounds awesome with the AC4. It moves sooooo much air. And you can get these amps dirt cheap, because of all the line6 hate online. Who cares! It’s the best 2x12 extension cabinet deal on the planet!

@@voxpathfinder15r yes many solid state 212 amps come with great usable speakers, great for those lunch box amps as well

@@DavidMorales008 exactly, some people may poo poo this AC4 amp because it’s built in speaker. But what they don’t understand, first they didn’t give this amp a chance and try to dial in some great tones. And second a Vox 4 watt single ended amp is a tremendous little platform that can really light up a larger speaker cabinet. You start pushing a really punchy 2x12 along with a tubescreamer and you’re golden!
