For those who watch my Garbage Time car channel, this is the thing I drove 16 hours for and killed original Bruce the ute last year. Adelaide to Melbourne to Adelaide again in one shot, Bruce did it perfect. Next day, Bruce didn't want to play anymore. That huge canopy back transported this kit perfectly as it came with it's original drum bags too!
But RIP to Bruce, thanks for helping save this kit 👍
(yes I did drive to Bendigo last week for another kit in Bruce 2, video coming whenever.)

Yes. Private museum? If it go to a private person with the credibility? Sure safer for the thing being guarded and cared for by a private keeper. And giving a link to the Dankpods channel and all the other stuff? It might actually do a better job at this museum then literately anywhere else with his track record. If just more collectors where this wholesome and giving.
I have no idea what he just said about the drum set. But it is very clear that this private museum is going to give as much as it can to people. To enjoy and learn. Not just hoard and keep it private in the sense of being selfish.
I just hope the cymbal tossing and car abuse is not going to cause problems in the future. And the dog Frank? It is stuck in a water tank and do nothing all day! What kind dog owner dose that? Clearly the dog is broken.

The importance of Pearl hardware from that era can't be overstated. Prior to then, drum hardware was mostly chintzy or ridiculous expensive. Was never a fan of their drums, but their hardware changed the game.

I'm in Sydney Australia and my first serious kit I bought in 1994, it was a German made Sonor Force 3000, 5 piece kit with excellent hardware. I added Zildjian K series hats, 16'' & 18'' crash, 18'' China & 20'' ride. That year, after tax my weekly take home pay was $360. The Sonor kit was just over $4000 and would you believe the Zildjian K's came to a total of $2300. Add in a set of cases and suddenly it's $7000. I could have bought a USA Fender Stratocaster and a Marshall JCM 900 with a cabinet, and gone on a holiday with the change.

Man, what a cool kit and a great backstory. Got a little teary eyed when you were talking about the original owner and his widow, hopefully you can invite her down to see the museum one day so she can see the kits new home. You were definitely the right person to save that kit.

I would actually love to see the museum and my late partner's kit, it was a hard decision to sell the kit but I'm glad I waited for the right person to come along, it only took me 2 years lol but that kit wasn't going anywhere until the perfect person came along

That’s an incredible gift to music producers everywhere if you’re going to record them.
I’d absolutely keel over with joy if you worked through playing differ break beats on them,
You could build out such a special library of rhythms, grooves, fills, and hits ok so much well recorded vintage gear with your set up.
That would be an immense gift to music to release for free

daymnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to dream about a set of GLX... I had a DX kit, which I loved. Freaking loudest kit I've ever owned. I miss the kits from the 80's. The sheer volume, attack, and just massive sounds they make. Plus they looked cool. Kit's today look so dainty compared to it. Congrats on the score!

I miss those big drum sets...I can actually use a lot of those, my style is based around using the drum kit as an ensemble even while playing in a band, so I like having loads of toms and cymbals and the like. Electronics, too, right alongside the acoustics. It's often painted as being ostentatious, but I love it! I love that versatility!
