Meeting With Your Legislator

Being an effective advocate requires building strong relationships with decision-makers and their staff. At the federal and state level, this may be a legislator or their staff.
It is important to take every opportunity to reach out to build and maintain your relationship with decision-makers. Meeting with a decision-maker and letting them know what policies are important to you, your department, your students and your patients is an important step in building a positive, productive relationship.
