I bought the vacuum for our above ground pool. I used it five times then water ended up in the battery housing. Now it will neither charge or run. Of course I made sure the battery housing was sealed before letting it down into the pool. But Ryobi hasn't responded to any of my requests for service. Pretty expensive and fragile product considering its supposed to be an underwater tool. Now I'm out that money. I won't be buying Ryobi again.
Ryobi shows the brush coming off the vac for sucking up leaves and gravel. This is great to know! I was looking at these two items for purchase. Now I know! Thanks brian!
Thanks for this update, I was dissapointed with the vacuum as it leaked into the battery compartment. I recommend the Pool Blaster Max that I had before as it is stronger, does pick up leaves, lasts for an hour on a charge and the battery is sealed an water tight.
The dindinmodern speaker is also very good. I've been using it for over a year now. I use it on picnics when I travel in the RV. Small in size but big in sound.
Brian great review ! My neighbor just got into the Ryobi line with a combo kit after a week went out and bought weedwacker and blower .... Last night while vacuuming his pool he said man i wish someone made a easier vac system ! Can't wait to show him this video !! Brian After looking for more info i seen the head of the unit comes off for larger debree can you confirm ??
I have a 12×24 above ground pool, Chicago ordinance, and I use the Ryobi pool cleaner from the beginning of the season to the end. It works great but you do have to stop and clean off the filter often. I personally love it though. Make sure the seal is correct, I didn't get it on correctly once and ruined a 4ah battery.
This review video was fantastic, this is definitely the best review of these items and addresses everything that I was wanting to know about these two items. Great job. #WorkshopAddict
I did miss one big item. Sand is one of the best ways to permanently clean a pool. Fill it to the top and cover it with concrete. Makes a great basketball court. I hate my pool! Sorry if you have one. LOL...
But this thing can be used in daytime as well so even if you think you can’t see the lights, you can still hear the music which is good, so can use it day or night
Used my Ryobi pool vacuum once and it just stopped working, wouldn't charge exct, I feel like if they spent a little extra on quality of the device it's essentially a perfect machine it just doesn't work because they cheaped out on the switch port
Lord baal The Travis Mills Foundation Jeep ran us into the ground. We had a lot of parts get damaged in shipping, many delays and stuff just simply not going right. It is a matter of getting everything done in the the shop on time and we could not do it and video everything. Sucks. We are still on it, but we need to have the time. Been working 12 hour days for months.
The on off switch is faulty. I have had 3 sent to me and they stop working after a couple uses. They won’t refund my money but they said they continue to send me new ones. Seriously? I have many Ryobi power tools and have no problems but this is garbage.
@@MoeMentos the vacuum. The 4th one they sent me is still working going on 6 months. The probably worked through the warehouse of faulty switch ones. But for anybody considering purchasing I would pass It doesn't pick up a lot of debris before loosing suction and is very heavy
I'm not getting much volume at all. Yes volume is turned up on floating ryobi spkr and phone. Cant hear the darn thing with a normal conversation and kids playing
The wheels are garbage. They split into pieces after one use. The only real use is if your in the pool and using it as a handheld. Even then, just buy a real vacuum. We wasted money the other day buying it. I'll never touch it again unless it is to resell for a few bucks.
So, why do I add salt and minerals to it for my "salt cell" to make chlorine? Honestly, I am not a pool guy and the pool peeps call it a salt water pool, so I do also. You are 100% correct on what I have.
It’s just a different delivery method of chlorinating your pool. The salt and minerals in use with your salt cell produce chlorine. Largest misconception is “it’s a salt pool, it’s like swimming in the ocean’s saltwater”. Well that’s not true, a salt water pool is no different from a chlorinated pool. Both have chlorine. It’s just how the chlorine is distributed.
@@delta69er you're incorrect. A saltwater pool does indeed have salt in it. I know this because I have one. You have to have salt in the water for the salt cell to produce the chlorine - it comes in big bags similar to soft water systems for your house. Yes, it's not like swimming in the ocean (around 35,000 ppm of salt) but there's enough salt in the pool to be able to taste it (around 3,000 ppm).
Piece of shit very awkward in the water, its to heavy on pole and wants to role. All it does is is instead of picking up the debris on the bottom ( the stuff thats very fine like dirt settled on the bottom ) all it does is spread in the water. Have not found 1 above ground pool vacuum that isn't a piece of shit. The vacuum gets 2 thumbs down, BUT the Bluetooth speaker ( bought both same time) 2 thumbs up all the way 😊 well worth the money, drains your phone battery quick but what Bluetooth device don't. Very pleased with speaker, vacuum not worth nothing!! 😒
Thanks for sharing! Hope these products have helped you enjoyed your Summer!

Bought this yesterday, no water got in anything... Just stopped working, won't charge

It will come off, but the power is not there.
Perfect analogy / review as I had the same experience with the Vacuum. I use it for spot cleaning and the spa. It gets the job done.

You can remove it and the hole going in slightly opens, but the reality is that it is not powerful enough for larger debris.

Cool stuff from Ryobi, great review!

I live in FL, it's state law that I have one!

Can you confirm fitment or compatibility of the new 6.0ah battery in these tools?
It fits without issue. Overkill for this but fits.
Thanks!
Your welcome!
Nice review. What area of Michigan do you live in?
Hour and a half north of Detroit.
Is it good for sand?
Great video...thank you!
great vid keep up the great content
Is this still for sale at Home Depot? Cant seel to find it
Reggie Lamay Did you look in store or online? Mine only had a few in store in the spring then no more.
I bought mine on the Home Depot website and they delivered it to my house for free.
What battery do you use in them
4.0 Ah 18 volt Ryobi.
Milwaukee where you @
The poolcleaner like musik!

The speaker sound muffles up after it gets submerged. As it dries the sound comes back
Can you hear the sound underwater?
You can hear a muffled sound. The speaker sits open just under the controls, so there is not much sound pushed under water.
Missed opportunity to make the speaker a chlorine container
Which to me I think it’s a very thoughtful thing especially for Ryobi
Fellow michigander here, where in Michigan are you from?
Bay City, Where are you at?
WorkshopAddict 20 minutes north of Ann Arbor!
Cool, we travel a lot of the same areas.
What happened to your car channel, wrenches and rides? You're stopped doing it?

That radio looks like a space ship for tiny aliens.
That may be what it actually is 🤔 🤔 🤔

Holy shit, what made Ryobi want to get into the pool game. Its a odd choice
Everyones Everything?

Woooo michigan
Mittel sad, no alarm in emergency.
