    Nice Camaro SS. I like how he went into the Z28 parts bin and added the hood, spoiler, rims, front chin spoiler. The 5th generation Camaro is pretty good car to modify and maintain

    i have a 2010, ls3 black on black. never missed an oil change, never been neglected, i have 145k miles got it at 20k. at about 130k i’m finally having to open my valve covers and swap new lifters, rockers, springs, cam all that. compression still perfect so bottom end has held up fine from the factory all the way to now, this car is awesome it’s been a daily since i got it. it’s been hit three times while parked…, been slid off the freeway at 70mph into a ditch, suspension was fixed and held up perfect since. my car has not been babied i beat the shit out of it every time i drive it and the biggest issues i’ve dealt with were literally abs motor failed, and some brake issues here and there that have been addressed. amazing car. engines are tanks

    Howdy from Texas, My 2011 Camaro 2SS just passed 140,000 miles. Just swapped my engine oil with Amsoil 5W30, and my transmission fluid with Tremec HP MTF. She’s treating me well and I care for her like a child. My driver seat cracked slightly on the sides and my parking brake handle self destructed a little while ago.

    I have a 2010 Camaro ss L99 with 116k miles it’s my daily and it’s running like a champ no issues AT ALL. The only down side is the leather on the seats is slowly cracking but that’s an easy fix. If you do proper maintenance on it it will last you even longer.

    • @gvaspirated
      @gvaspirated  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey man! Glad to hear it's in good shape. Yeah the leather and interior seem to be the ones that take a more apparent hit. Either way our cars are a lot more reliable than the competitors, especially euros.

    I have a 2010 SS L99 engine. Bought the car with 50k miles. Currently at 140k miles and have had ZERO issues! I've taken it on a lot of road trips. Very fun car! I will add that I disabled the AFM with a tune since the day I bought it as I was worried about the lifters failing in the future. Happy to report that I've had no issues with lifters. ( I recommend anyone with with an auto SS to do the same)
    I do meticulously maintain and care for the car. Aside from routine oil changes I've flushed ALL the fluids, replaced valve cover gaskets, replaced engine and transmission mounts, upgraded the fuel pump, replaced the thermostat and coolant hoses as preventative maintenance. The previous owner did a few suspension upgrades, so I've not yet had any suspension component issues yet. I have had issues with the driver seat adjustment switch.. I ended up replacing it.

    ... Gabe, love the color and goodies you added! I have a 2010 SS as well. Black on black.. different grill, hood, spoiler, everything blacked out on exterior. Just the red SS on trunk lid. The car looks amazing and sounds/runs great.
    So, issues are as follows:
    1) Issues with the A/C have driven meet crazy! Spent almost 3 grand going through a dealership, 4 compressors, condenser, radiator etc. They can't figure out why the compressors keep going bad.
    2) the plastic on the side of the drivers seat is opened up just like yours. No big deal.
    3) typical chips, 10 foot tile the car looks amazing, but not perfect close up.
    just hit 114,000 miles.
    Runs amazing! Long tube headers full exhaust, tuned ... etc.

    I see you are past 2,000 subs but I subbed anyway! Nice video, this is going to be my next car, can't decide if I want black on black or red with black stripes on the hood. For the exterior paint I bet it would hold up much better if you hand waxed it with carnauba wax. I wax my Porsche by hand every year or two and you wouldn't believe what that wax can do, it looks like a new car on the showroom floor and even covers all the little imperfections. If you leave your car in the hot sun a lot I would for sure wax every year. You want the stuff where you apply it by hand and let it haze over, then buff it out by hand with a dry cloth.

    Your videos are very informative. I planning to buy my first Camaro in about 3 months, it's a 2013 SS 2013 with 87000 miles on it. The mileage scaries me, but everyone tells me these cars are very reliable, even with 100k miles on them, so I'm just preparing myself for all the things that could break after buying it :)

    Well since ya asked. I got a 2014, and my headlights are full of heat stress marks and cracks from the southern sun. And the paints like yours, it looks like show room condition from 10ft away.. But get close to it and you can see little scratches and marks here and there, but the great thing about obnoxiously bright red paint is in direct sun light its so bright you can't see anything lol. Otherwise seems to be holding up good at 80,000 miles pretty impressed.. In comparison to my last Camaro, (2002 35th anniversary) Its in 10x better condition at the same mileage, GM built these cars sooooo much better than the 3rd and 4th gens, I'd never go back... A 5th gen Camaro at 50,000 miles is about the same as a 3rd gen Camaro with 5,000 miles on it.
