Little update! I just saw this character do a critical hit on its iron head move. I was trying forever and couldn’t get it in practice but it did happen in game.
Imagine being a Pokémon so nuanced you need to have a deep dive video in order to fully understand you, i really like what they did with Aegislash, not just tap tap you really can make awesome plays with it.
In pokemon it seems that they refer to forms as visually/aesthetically changes to pokemon, such as basculin, but when it involves changes to its base stats such as giratina or the forces of nature trio, then they use the term forme.
@@SBSlim19 Aegislash is such a great design, like he is easily the greatest representative that inanimate object pokemon can be both greatly designed and function well in-game.
One of the many details I love about this pokemon in unite is the name of its unite move. Coup de grace is French for blow of mercy. Considering what the unite move does is just such a badass name for it!!!
I like Iron head/sacred sword best. The strat is, first sacred sword into a fight and get a few boosteds in until your health starts to drop too low. Then use iron head to get the shield and start spamming shield boosteds to recover health and reset sacred sword. Swap back to sacred sword once the cooldown is up (as long as you can safely do so)-rinse and repeat. It's especially destructive late game because BOTH give you attack up when upgraded.
@@du5637 Since making this comment I've also become an iron head/shadow claw user. The lower cooldown feels really good, as do the crits. I think Sacred Sword is much better for team fights, but my playstyle with aegislash is more of an assassin style and shadow claw works better for me.
Aegislash was built to be my favorite pokemon, I swear. I have always teetered between loving the mobility and zippiness of speedsters and the complex brawling of late game all rounders. Aegislash can do both. It feels like a much more creative version of the Lucario / Tsareena dash-based all rounders which always felt a bit too inelegant for me.
Extreme Speed Lucarios who never hit the same target, and Tsareenas who have perfected Queen's Majesty combos are honestly more deserving of a highlight reel if we're talking about *elegance*
I think what makes Aegislash so interesting is how important it is to read enemy attacks and focuses. Getting the perfect timing on the shield move to tank some hits, finding the right opportunity to go back into blade and finish people off. It makes a huge difference between dying instantly in a fight and surviving to do a ton of damage.
32:28 Something worth noting, Wide Guard makes you "Unstoppable" similar to Lucario's Close Combat. You are Rooting yourself, but you will not get CC'd. Possibly worth saving it for Blastoise Unites etc.
My friend and I played a Sacred Sword/Iron Head Aegislash with a Softboiled/Helping Hand Blissey in lane and it was nasty. Aegislash as a bully attacker with score shield/buddy/muscle band and Blissey was choice specs/wise glasses/buddy.
Shadow Claw + doesnt actually grant the bonus crit chance to anything else besides Shadow Claw at the moment. It's broken, that's why you got so few crits and why Iron Head never crit.
Aegislash need some fixings , the defense idea it's amazing, I stopped talonflame unite move +dragonite unite move... everything perfect until my HP reached 0 from 1 second to other... what's the point of being able to avoid damage for a small period of time and right after you die? It need way more HP or an update to the defense movements. It's good but HP really LOW
My Aegislash build: Razor + Scope + Buddy | Shadow Claw + Wide Guard I feel Shadow Claw works a lot better with Wide Guard since u can use it as a small dash to approach enemies than use Wide Guard either as quick stun (by tapping twice really fast, than u will be cancelling the hability therefore not being stuck) or as an actual shield with a double stun an up to 3 boost stacks, however being stuck in place for 1s (I think). U can use de combo Shadow Claw, quick Wide Guard, than 2 boosted atcks that u will have, than Shadow Claw again. Very solid dmg. I recommend trying it
2:53. You're not crazy. This is just how the word is spelled in all of the Pokemon games to differentiate the change of forms (i.e. Evolution) from changing in physical appearance within one evolution stage.
It honestly feels like Aegislash is ok -at best, but (like Garchomp) EVERYONE wants it to be AMAZING. I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like Aegislash does anything better than Pokemon that were already in the game. I predict Aegislash is going to end up in a nearly identical spot as Greninja. Great if you are great with it, and a massive throw if you haven't got a clue what you are doing. However, this Pokemon looks like a ton of fun to play.
Aegislash's ability to prepare for fights with boosts is noteworthy for ambush attacks. Wide Guard and maybe even Iron Head can nullify damage even from Unites which could be huge for team fights idk
I've been using shadow claw to get into a fight then immediately hitting iron head. I let them blow all their moves on my shield form. Once done, I'll hit with shadow claw again. By that time, you'll have all 4 boosted saved up. You can unleash! If they are still alive, iron head once again. I bring a potion to pop during shield stance. Muscle band, Focus band, Razor Claw. If you use focus band and potion at the same time, you'll be in a pretty good spot to finish the fight. Edit: I would say that slash needs more defense in shield mode and more crit chance/ damage in sword mode. Possibly a longer dash with iron head. Those few tweaks would make this Pokémon wonderful!

Something I have a question about: Aegislash always transforms into blade forme when using Coup de Grace, so does it use the attack stat of the blade forme or base attack?
Blade forme attack stat at level 15-537 Base forme attack stat at level 15-357 Coup de Grace’s base damage without items at level 15 according to Unite-DB (and corrected to the nearest integer): 357* 282% + 13* (15 - 1) + 640 = 1828 With blade forme: 537* 282% + 13 (15 - 1) + 640 = 2336 (obtained the same results of blade forme calc via using it on a substitute, so it is blade forme’s attack stat) They actually show the numbers of the additional damage next to the base damage of the move if it has a function of “does % of enemy’s max/missing/remaining health, so that’s nice. Apparently if you use coup de grace on an enemy at full health, it does additional damage of 280.
Forme is just the old english version of Form and they both have the same meaning. They probably used forme because aegislash is a sword and thats medieval ig?
In french, 'la forme' = 'the shape'. My guess is that they once again used a french word to differentiate the two words, like they did for 'Pokémon' (was a pronunciation matter there tho)
My main is Pikachu and I hate Aegislash, I feel that I can't do anything against this pokemon, in shield form absorb my damage and then change form to kill me so easy
How to use Cinderace: press button repeatedly. that's it. How to play Aegislash: So, you need to start by reading this before you ever think of grabbing that controller, young man *takes a book the size of Tolstoy's War and Peace*
I believe that they spelled it as forme because aegislash is from the region based off of France and so they used the French spelling of that word. Don't quote me tho, not 100% sure.
tbh I go shadow claw iron head and I'm able to slaughter other aegeslash who go sacred sword and they die against me everytime for some reason sacred sword is big but the damage isn't really there like shadow claw ig cuz of the crit but once I go shield form I damn near instantly get shadow claw back
Dw Content Cowboy! Forme is just another way people spell Form, mainly people in UK! It’s just like there’s color and colour or even Theater and Theatre

I'm playing it on mobile so I was VERY surprised that you could see your boosts and the some of the moves have some extra animations
Here are tips for aegi mains
- Always roam around in defense form

-use unite move only when opposing enemys is or lower then 40% of hp
-when you get lower to 30% hp change your form imidiatly to defense form and dont change your form until fight is over or you have oppotunati to escape
Why roam in defense may I ask? For xp clears I personally find roaming blade to be better solely for the faster clears and movement speed

Aegislash always transforms into blade forme when using Coup de Grace, so does it use the attack stat of the blade forme or base attack?
I wondered this also. I’m guessing it uses blade forms boosted attack but I don’t know
Blade forme attack stat at level 15-537
Base forme attack stat at level 15-357
Coup de Grace’s base damage without items at level 15 according to Unite-DB (and corrected to the nearest integer):
357* 282% + 13* (15 - 1) + 640 = 1828
With blade forme:
537* 282% + 13 (15 - 1) + 640 = 2336
(obtained the same results of blade forme calc via using it on a substitute, so it is blade forme’s attack stat)
They actually show the numbers of the additional damage next to the base damage of the move if it has a function of “does % of enemy’s max/missing/remaining health, so that’s nice. Apparently if you use coup de grace on an enemy at full health, it does additional damage of 280.
I think the basic attacks of shield moves crits
Forme is just the old english version of Form and they both have the same meaning. They probably used forme because aegislash is a sword and thats medieval ig?
I thought that i could get Aegislash from that boxes from lunar new year event, but buying him wasn't a mistake too i guess
you can just get 10k coins from the lunar event by picking a 10k coin pokemon that you already have, and use that to buy him
@@SoulHydron If im right it shows only pokemons you dont have, 'cause every pokemon that were in that box were pokemons that i dont have so idk
@@Healenochka uh then u just don't have those pokemon lol. I had like half of them
@@SoulHydron I think im just gonna choose lucario two times then xD
Is it just me or Pokemon Unite has a bug/glitch where your screen randomly goes black/dark
Yep
That happens when aegislash uses its unite
In french, 'la forme' = 'the shape'.
My guess is that they once again used a french word to differentiate the two words, like they did for 'Pokémon' (was a pronunciation matter there tho)
What about 2nd free unite license box
Coach Jake is back!
Watch the opposing Gengar. Remember kids, if Zap is still there, you're still there too.
it's passive is ironically a double-edged sword if you're not using it optimally.
To get sacred sword to work properly you need to shield forme then sword forme then it crit hits
I use wideguard shadow blade combo
Just picked him up hope he hasn’t changed too much
The curse of decidueye, it means you have to play that pokemon again
Sprangels who should I buy. greadant or Machamp
Still havent seen aegislash in ranked games
My main is Pikachu and I hate Aegislash, I feel that I can't do anything against this pokemon, in shield form absorb my damage and then change form to kill me so easy
You need to anticipate his form changes
@@shanerpressley It isn't easy, Thunder/Thundebolt have higher cooldown than most Aegislash's moves so I don't have control about it
How to use Cinderace: press button repeatedly. that's it.
How to play Aegislash: So,
you need to start by reading this before you ever think of grabbing that controller, young man *takes a book the size of Tolstoy's War and Peace*
3:03 Your spelling is correct but Pokémon just has a weird way of writing ‘form’ incorrectly so it seems cooler
Am I incorrect in the assumption that 'forme' is spelled with the extra e when talking about a style of swordfighting?
Ty for this vid
Jake the crits are for the basics attacks and boosted not for the shadow claws move...so shadow claw doesnt crit
Shadow claw does Crit
@@spragels i thought that the shadow claw+ buff you to do crit in your basic attacks and boosted, not in the move itself...thanks and nice content
Yesterday I literally one shot greninjq with unite idk how but it was all of sudden 🤣🤣
I always thought you could spell form both ways. Ive seen it with an E before
I believe that they spelled it as forme because aegislash is from the region based off of France and so they used the French spelling of that word. Don't quote me tho, not 100% sure.
We can never escape from the illuminati, is soo powerful that he can be a sword
In Pokemon, form = aesthetic change only, forme = also a stat change
You make me laugh with his Unite move hahaha pronounce Coo de Grass :p
Btw hello from France :D
tbh I go shadow claw iron head and I'm able to slaughter other aegeslash who go sacred sword and they die against me everytime for some reason sacred sword is big but the damage isn't really there like shadow claw ig cuz of the crit but once I go shield form I damn near instantly get shadow claw back
Dw Content Cowboy! Forme is just another way people spell Form, mainly people in UK! It’s just like there’s color and colour or even Theater and Theatre
I think form vs forme is American vs UK English. American English has a tendency to remove extraneous letters like Olde Towne instead of Old Town. Why unite chose British vs American english translations though no idea.
Basically this all rounder is mixe between speedster and ( pick a choice)
Hey Jake, how are they going to put a Cowboy hat on this Sword?
