Jacob's voice sounds so much more characterful in this than in a lot of his other stuff to me, stepping out of the "man with perfect pitch sings perfect sinewaves" box is a vibe.

He is getting better as a singer and working with many co-leads is a good move. It is a tragedy he hasn't been able to get out of his damn room in "the pandemic" and develop his music with live bands on the road before audiences.
@@modifiedcontent he needed to improve, his voice was really weak and bland. I'm sure some regular singing lessons could bring out the best in him.
@@modifiedcontent Hes doing his djesse world tour with five amazing musicians, and I feel like it definitely improves the performance. I love his multi instrumental solo projects but nothing beats a great six piece live band.

My favorite song of his is the one rap song he produced and DOES NOT SING on, at all. forget the name, but that's the thing, his music is intellectually interesting, but, ultimately forgettable. i really can't stand his voice, if i must be frank, it's absolute CRINGE. but music is a subjective thing, and opinions are like assholes, everyone has one...

His best stuff is consistently when he's working with somebody else. It seems like the insane harmonic choices subside a bit when there's someone there to reign him in. Case and point is him and Daniel Cesar doing best part. The first half is like aural theory, and the second half you just feel in a totally different way.
