    I've worn body armor for almost forty years. I started with the old Second Chance vests and now the use the external type 'soft' armor' in the uniform
    shirt style zipper up the front carrier. I'd gladly come out of pocket to get this vest. It's a game changer for comfort in the hot summer down south.

      That's true with any armor. That is why there are backface deformation standards, so you don't end up with life-threatening internal injuries.

    Great video I think it’s the most comprehensive video out there on the safe line hyper line and the new fest and I already had the hyper line armour but just got the new vest in and I and I’d like to make a commentary boat the combination and that is the diaper line is quite Richard stiff like a cardboard feel so it’s not gonna give you the best impression in the first 30 minutes of putting it on but after your body heat warms it up it melts to you and then it’s a great fit and the new hyper concealed vest makes it even better fit

    Seems like the carrier have a zipper to open the place where you put the plates, it would be nice if they make something like that for the level 3+

    • @matthouston8411
      @matthouston8411 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The orignial carrier that came with the vest has a spot for a plate, but the new carrier is thinner and does not have the spot. You can still buy the other carrier to put the vest into and plate. I think their thinking was to sell their thinnest vest and carrier together and if you want to add plates then maybe you'll just have a separate rig for that.

    In the UK our biggest threat here is bladed objects, I was having a look at a fair few body armour sites in the US and it amazes me that most body armour isn't actually stab resistant. The US uses NIJ whereas we use HOSDB. We're split into 3 "areas" HG1 and HG2 for handgun rounds, 3&4 for rifles. KR1 and 2 for stab resistance and SP1 and 2 for spike resistance. I would've thought that was just as much of a risk in the US!

    • @kenofken9458

      Outside of correctional environments and the occaisional lunatic, nobody uses knives here in the states. Every bad guy has a gun here. A great many of the people a criminal will go up against - whether other criminals, police or ordinary citizens are also often or usually armed with guns as well.

      The non hyperline version of the vest which is rated IIIA (same as this one) is just a little less slim fitting under clothing and is strike/slash resistant. It is called “concealable Multi-Threat Vest Level IIIA”

    •  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't Know, someone should make a video about it's stab resistance, because this vest has uhmwpe layers, and those are spike resistant to some degree

    • @Shenzhoustab
      @Shenzhoustab 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, right, much differences between HOSDB & NIJ, and much differences between the enviroments in UK & USA. The future trends of body armor should be multi threats protection, including anti bullets, anti stab, anti slash, anti cut, anti chop, etc protecting from both hot and cold weapons. Certainly, thickness and weight and softness shouldbe also important evaluating points.

    So, this is NOT NIJ certified armour, then? The label on the panels doesn't show the NIJ certification mark, and the website says "built to IIIA standards" but no mention of certified. Why would anyone buy non-certified ballistic armour?
    Also, the Armor Express Razor XT IIIA is the same thickness and is 0.84 psf compared to the Safe Lite 0.90 psf. The XT IIIA is also available in the ultra-concealable "hidden defender" carrier, which is far lower profile (if that's what you need for your job).

    Well you might not have to worry about the bullet going through. You going to have to worry about internal bleeding. What I saw on the back on the vest was damage from the bullets going into it. So you going to feel ever single impact from being shot and that's just 9mm so the mean if the bad guy has 40 s&w 45 acp 5.7 mm 357 Sig 357 Mag. Your toast and probably going to be heading to the hospital with critical injuries that can cause death. I wouldn't trust my life with this vest and I don't think no one else should. The point of a vest is supposed to limited the amount of injuries that can causes death and this not it. If you're any type of armed Officer please don't wear this. Safe life have better stuff out there plus most people carry knives or rifles these days get a vest that protect you from those threats including 7x62 which is a AK round which most bad guys is carrying these days
