I had a similar situation with my husband’s nephew. He never reached out to us when my husband was alive. When my husband passed, my nephew started calling every week or two to me “just to see how I was and if I needed any help from him. “ He had made occasional comments about our will. The last time he did this, I was actually in the hospital with severe stomach flu. When I told him I was in the hospital, he immediately asked if there was anything he could do to help me. I said, “ Thank you but the hospital and insurance company is taken care of everything. He came back with, “ I was meaning your will.”
Long story short, and for many other reasons besides his rude comments & behavior, I re-wrote my will into a trust and told him point blank that i wasn’t going to give him a dime. I never heard from him again.

A son has every right to expect something from his father, his asking to see the will is not being a "greedy" son. It is perfectly normal, and I am surprised his father left nothing to the children. My son has a copy of the will, and he is well provided for, as is my wife.

We don't need to know all this BS. You need to cut that story down to at least one hundred & sixty -six sentences...It's just way too much to swallow. And, besides, you should not be talking about your family's business, nobody gives a crap. Send it to MGM's Movie department, or Scribner, or A Forge, & see how quickly they send it back without even a "Thank You". And, they could keep you waiting six to eight, nine months before they do that... or longer. Really boring, & there no point this Mish Mash of nothingness. You cannot write, but you want too and, your talent is trying to squeeze through the window screen. You need to take writing classes at your local Community College, where you will be taught properly. Until you do, start reading your favorite authors to see what style you like the best. My favorite is, #1, Hemingway, & #2 is Estleman. Get your world of writing you want to do, but, realize we all need to be educated on how to do it. You are a "wanna be writer," & nothing else right now. Don't even try to do what's on the internet, because you need the experience of a hands on Instructor, & feed back of your classmates. Get started, but realize there is, & will be a lot of very heavy competition in this crowded writer's field for a first time writer. Good Luck to you. Enjoy the fall colors when they arrive.

I had a step sister in law who wanted half of my mom's house, which had been sold for my mom to afford assisted living and 25,000 ( which was actually a 10,000 CD) which had been cashed in so my mom could pay her bills and afford her medications. My mom left whatever was left in her bank account to me to cover her funeral expenses and final expenses, which I used for exactly that. My step sister in law never spoke to me again when I told her there was no house money and no CD because mom needed that money for her declining condition. I was my mom's SOLE caretaker from 2016 until she went into assisted living at the age of 94 in 2021, after which I still took care of all her bills and paperwork until she died in 2022 at the age of 95. I drove 5 hours each way every other week to spend three days in a hotel to spend time with my mom after she entered assisted living and to take care of everything she needed. I was deeply saddened that my dead step brother's wife chose to be so obsessed with inheritance that she stopped talking to me after she found out she didn't have any inheritance. 😢

Disgusted by the gold digger and the arse, the cheating son and supporter og the equally stupid 2nd wife. I'm glad the good doctor picked his wife and grandson. Hope the paperwork was created to protect the inheritance through adulthood for the beloved grandson ❤

There are laws in most states regarding an inheritance. Even when there is no will it usually goes to the wife. There are a lot of mistakes in wording in this “story”. Seems made up.
