I had a heated disagreement with a manger at a job I had in the late 1980s. He cut my pay 10% which was about 6Gs a year. I already had a job prospect and I gave him notice. He tried to back track because I was the only one that filled a specific position that no one else was trained on. I knew the company would get penalized if I took unemployment. I qualified because in the state I live in if your pay is cut 10% or more there is no waiting period. I took a few months off and he wasn’t happy. Also they had to find a tech from out of state and pay to move him.

I broke my leg in a motorcycle accident. Was booked off work for a week. Came back... on crutches.. and managers blue eyed boy had been appointed into my job. I quit there and then. One shift notice. A week later they send a young apprentice to ask me how to repair a Lockers Gearbox that had broken down. I sent him back with two quotes. One, to write a manual for it. Two, to repair it as a contrator. That was a very expensive manual.

When I, the second son, outshined the firstborn son, father's golden boy, I had to move out and far away. My older brother smoked week and lost all ambition to graduate college. @@LionsDen1223 Thank you for your words of comfort. My father was the second son to his older brother. My father's drum song was, "Why can't you be more like your older brother?" Well, my older brother is a lazy bum. I was clean, sober, and professionally employed. I then asked my father, "Why can't you be more like his older brother Uncle Joseph?" My father was confused! "What?! My brother Joseph is dead!" Silence! Until, my mother burst out laughing and started clapping for me! Burn!

I am the third son, black sheep of the family. I just liked going to the library and reading all day, going home, and continue reading until late at night. Sleep, repeat.
I started smoking weed with a guy I met at the library around age twelve, I graduated Highschool early, went to Job Corps for vocational training, graduated and joined the NAVY. Served, received my honorable, went home and started a business. I'm now 36 and the owner of a multi-million dollar international corporation that I founded. I still smoke weed. The pot wasn't your brothers problem, it was a symptom of a larger underlying issue. Your family sounds like it has a lot of issues, and you yourself probably picked up a number of them and carry them with you to this day, you sound just as toxic as your father. Get help, go to church.

I was a contractor and management gave me an ultimatum... either take employment with the company, or I could leave. I told them thank you, and goodbye. They asked me to clear out my desk and told them that I had never moved in, so there was nothing to clear out, and that I would show myself out. Shocked at my quick move, I think that had planned on my being available as a contractor, but were even more shocked when I immediately left the area for a training and a better position. The look on their faces! Also, I was their only sober employee. 😮
