      They're helpful but then again, you may end up on a flight with a horrible loo, and then again you might fly another airline in economy with one that's very nice and clean. I've had this happen a few times on various airlines... the business class loo was dirtier or in some cases, smaller, than the economy one.

    I just flew into Canada two weeks ago, and the problems with YYZ are NOT the fault of Air Canada but the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Canada Immigration. Arrive at the wrong time, and due COVID protocols flights are not able to park, and not allowed to disembark passengers until space is available in the arrival hall. We should sympathise with the flight attendants who cannot disembark until all passengers are off the plane, which could be 4 hours after landing as they only allow about 50 passengers off at a time.

    AC has increased their international flights from 200 to 600 flights a week over the past month, I'm thinking it may be related to that because of course they, like most airlines had to lay staff off and by now many of them will have other jobs or decided to move on, and security screening for IDs and retraining takes time. They are also having to remove some services in order to have enough aeroplanes to cope with demand.

    We are flying to LHR this coming Wednesday (steerage, er, economy class 😁) and you have given me a good clue as to the reason for the rather large number of delays happening to outbound flights…lack of ground crew primarily. This makes sense. We are flying to Toronto from Ottawa and that flight has been mostly on time. Understandable considering the smaller size of the Ottawa airport. Pre covid, there was a direct flight from Ottawa to Heathrow but sadly, Air Canada has not yet resumed that service. I can’t wait until they do. I have never flown business class but I have never had cause to fault the service in economy. I am looking forward to the 777, all of our previous flights to the UK have been on 767s that are now retired. Great video Noel. I look forward to the next one! Cheers!

    AC usually has a pretty good on time record but I think all the airlines have pretty much given up on on-time records with COVID protocols in place. Having to check all the tests and entry eligibility by hand has meant no flight I've been on has actually closed the doors on time even though they start early and work pretty diligently through the list.

    Air Canada is having major staff shortages. Service hiccups as their network comes back online. WestJet (the other major Canadian airline) is also having serious issues. Luckily, when I flew with WestJet a few weeks ago, I had no such issues with them. That might have just been luck of the draw though. Major service disruptions, cancelled flights, delayed flights, and no staff in certain Airports (the WestJet counters at LaGuardia were completely shuttered.) I understand your frustration Noel, us Canadians are going through the same things right now.

    AC continues to offer the most consistent service in business class throughout the pandemic compared to USA legacy carriers. They serve proper hot meals on RJs 1 hour long while American will service nuts on a 4 hour flight. Completely agree with Noel that they could elevate their service by being uniquely Canadian. But it’s AC, highly unlikely they’d be innovative like that 😂

      Dublin was spot on with the assisted transport. Shout out to the airport staff there!!! ❤️🥰❤️ I love to see that kind of service; having done much travel with my mom who was quadriplegic and being her primary care giver on trips I really appreciating airports that offered that service and Dublin seemed like they had top notch, brilliant service. Props to the staff there!

    The second T in Toronto is silent. We locals actually call it rono. You can also see my house in the video so that made my day. To think we were so close to each other lol. You are right Air Canada is kind of meh but to be honest we really don't care for the wow factors when we travel. I used to travel North America and Asia quite a lot in the late 90's and early 2000's and I think way back then you had more of the things setting airlines apart. Now everything kind of looks the same to me. Maybe I am just getting old and grumpy.

    I'm wondering if it's because a lot of airlines are in that weird transition phase to more full flights. In a year, would it be better? I enjoyed the business a few years back (same seat), food was great, but I got multiple dishes, not all at once.

    Funny I just landed this morning from an air canada flight. (Montreal to Brussels) Overal our experience was a little bit better I think. The only GIANT problem was the fact that in both directions we could not get seated next to each other (we flew economy). It was as if Air Canada blocked certain seats to push us to pay extra for the premium seat selection. Other people around us had the exact same experience. Maybe something to check in one of your next videos :).

    • @adrianadrian255
      @adrianadrian255 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think part of the problem is that travel agents still block buy seats on some flights. - I know some people are surprised that people are still using travel agents, but there are still people who find it worthwhile to pay a little extra for the service - although sometimes travel agents have bought early enough to have good deals and seats and have seats otherwise blocked as sold.

    We flew business class on United Mesa March 2021 and July 2021 being platinum members. Horrible service including attendants talking in the galley for hours causing us to land with the box food service still on the tray table across from us and the seat in front still reclined. They could be bothered to pick service items up, walk around or make announcements. Both planes were dirty including crumbs on the seats and we had to deplane both flights due to mechanical issues. We won’t fly anytime soon even though we have 200,000 travel miles.

    Hey… AC being late. LOL! I was not surprised! They are ALWAYS late. As a Canadian, I often have no choice of flying with them and yup… they are late. But you got business class. You need to deal with economy class to know what most Canadians, like me, deal with on the day to day travels. Their economy seats are more comfortable than most US carriers except maybe United.

    My experience with Air Canada is that they are very, VERY friendly. As you'd expect from Canadians. Other than that, it's just a flight. Not bad, not outstanding either.
    That said, a little friendliness goes a long way and I think that's actually the most important thing when traveling, a nice crew.

    • @jemand8462
      @jemand8462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rollingtroll Imagine literally having a warm bath on an airplane

    • @rollingtroll
      @rollingtroll 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jemand8462 I do care a liiiiitle bit about the environment, as much as I love flying and old cars, so I prefer an efficient seat to one taking up tons of space. Warm bath,yes please, but maybe not if it takes up the space of 8 passengers that then need to fly a separate plane. Am I killing the vibe here? Sorry. I swear I'm fun at parties (no, really).
      I always pick a window seat so I hate shutting the blinds, but I see the point. I am not sensitive to light when sleeping but many people are, so hey-ho, let's close them :D.
      I'm Dutch and I never flew American airlines, but as someone who flies as cheap as possible, I must say that the differences between airliens (so far; Easyjet, Ryanair, FlyBE, Brussels Airways, KLM, Air Canada, Lufthansa) were not that large. It all 'does the job'. Air Canada and Lufthansa stood out as super friendly though.

    1. That “welcome” while boarding is what we get on WizzAir, a budget airline in Central Europe. That’s not what I expect while boarding full service airline’s business class, especially with an elderly looking gentleman who just arrived in a wheelchair. 2. The expected mask n bits with a signature from the chief medical whatever? Please. 3. Continue with the loo reviews, we like them! Happy landings!
