    Absolutely! They use different job titles...Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters, Agile Delivery Managers, Project Masters etc

    I have my PMP and 7 years of PM experience. That said, I have applied to 400 PM roles on LinkedIn since March and have only gotten one inteview. I am in the greater NYC market and it has been a blood bath, considering all of the recent tech layoffs. I am at a loss right now in my search. I have even had four direct employee referrals, none of which even got me so much as a screening call. 5-10 years ago though, a referral got me an interview. Things have changed a great deal.

      The market is really tough! For real. But I would keep trying. Unfortunately pm is just really popular atm. Still try the tips I’ve given. And perhaps get someone to look at your application/cv. Things have moved on from 5-10 years ago. You may need to modernise it/ focus on particular areas . Keep going ! A breakthrough is on the way if you don’t give up 🙌🏾

      Hey, I currently don’t have a training program unfortunately. Maybe get a professional to look at your cv to ensure you are selling yourself. It is very competitive at the moment, so don’t be discouraged. Just keep going

    Hey I just came across your channel today and your videos are highly informative. I’m a sophomore in college. I’d loveee if you could share the best books, resources, and job I could do to be fully prepared for a successful career in PM by the time I graduate!

      Hey lovely ! So in terms of books, I don’t really read lol, so I don’t have any recommendation, usually if you study for one of the pm certs, for example CAPM or the google project management cert , this should give you all the knowledge you need to get started. I have a video on entry level roles, those are the types of roles you should aim to get as a beginner. Hope this helps!

    This is spot on 👌🏾🙌🏾 🤩 As always great advice! Just to add my 2 cents.....even after seeing the job advert on the sites, I always go to the Company site to double check & confirm it exists & that it is still open for applications. This also gives me a chance to learn more about the company which comes in handy when drafting the cover letter. Thanks for sharing 🥰

    Hi Pitol, may you ever do a video on a example of how a sample project would be done or like for those of us who are interested in building some kind of portfolio and if we do not have a lot of experience in budgets how do they work into project management or how we can get past the interviews that ask for that experience or tips on how budgets play into project management? I noticed no one ever has talked about how budgets work in PM on YT yet. This might be asking for a lot, but if if you can give a brief overview I think it might help some of us. Thank you in advance.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! So you probs won’t see examples of this on yt, because you can’t really make up an example project. Or a portfolio . Project management is based on real life experience, so you either have examples or you don’t. Unlike maybe app engineers who’s can make their own prototypes and build a portfolio like that, you can only build your experience on project, through working on actual projects

    Nothing beats Face to face. I remember going to the richest square mile on Africa in a town called Sandton CBD seeking a bursary after countless failed responses from tens of applications. I entered The first building JSE Johannesburg Stock Exchange building and they legit gave me an application form for busary that had been available from March - August ... I entered the building in November and they accepted me because they appreciated the effort and guts I had to approach in person. If you really want it. Go get it. I'm doing my final year now already doing my first IT Project Management gig with a hospital. I am looking to get Scrum Master / CAPM / PMP / Agile with a touch of Cuber Security skills with Kali Linux. I see Cyber Security skills as being very important.

    Hey dear, I am looking into Project Management at the moment! I am currently a marketing manager so I do believe I have transferable skills. Im looking into some courses just to get extra skills etc. I wanted to ask, is it good pay?. google can lie and tell us BS on pay. Would you say its decent money? So curious!

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there ! Yep the earning potential is great tbh, but obviously to people that know how to navigate the market. With 5 years Pm experience you can expect to easily be on 6 figs if you contract, or high 5 fig for perm (in the UK)

    Hey girl love your videos and I am thinking of studying project management . Would you say that a project management job is flexible ? Do you have to work 5 days a week to Make decent pay ? Is it possible to work 3 days a week as a project manager ?

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thank you :) you’ll find it hard to find pt pm roles like they. Even for contractors , they are expected to work ft for set periods of time. It is flexible in the sense that you can do 6months on and 6 months off kinda thing and still make a lot of money (when you contract) so that potential is there. But that’s more for experienced pms, not for pms just starting, you’ll most likely do a perm role which won’t be pt

    I don't know in UK but in France, companies use some the Product Owner tittle. But, when you deeply read the job offer, it's more PM oriented, is it the same in UK? I think it's just because the PO postion is more trendy than PM position, what do U think about it?

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! So not so much in the Uk. Product management and project management is very different: but I can imagine that happens a lot, people often mix the two, because the two roles work very closely together

      Thanks! And lovely another one in the Pm gang! No real specifics for working remotely, some organisations offer it, some don’t, I think ultimately if they think you can do the job, you’ll be the job . Depends on the organisation if it is remote work or not really
