I really do love M. Night movies. Even if they’re terribly and super cringe at times, I feel like he’s one of those rare directors (like a Nolan) that simply gets to make whatever movie he wants to make and it’s gets a mainstream platform theatrical release. The man, for better or worse, has never comprised on his choices for the last 20 years of filmmaking. Not an endorsement of his bad films (we can all agree he’s made some horrible Dreck) but I can’t help but be excited when he puts a new movie out that is specifically his style.
I mean, Split was excellent so I know he *can* make great films. He just needs to realize that not every movie concept is instant gold which I think is his biggest mistake.
I had never seen or heard of Dave Bautista, but the moment he walked on screen I was blown away! He just has a “presence” that steals every scene he is in. Loved it

It's a shame they don't even mention the book this was based on by Paul Trembly. It's so well written and he deserves the credit. Edit: some asshole left spoilers in this comment thread so don’t open it if you want to avoid spoilers.
If you say Dave Bautista is theatre level performer and I've never known about him before, I'd be convinced. But because I know where he'd started first, I'm even more convinced.
Just read the book a few weeks ago and I am so excited. It looks so far to be pretty faithful to the original, and if it continues that way, it is going to be a fantastic movie
Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read the book - it does look very faithful, except that Redmond isn't the one with the mask on first, its one of the women. So that's going to change how the characters move forward drastically.
Just saw this in the cinema. Extremely uncomfortable movie, many close-ups, lots of emotions and twists. No blood or gore just pure psych thrills and chills! Bautista's performance is top as is the rest of the cast. I give it an 8 of 10
@Alli B it's called audiobooks. And although movies change and can change. Why would you change the storyline of something that was already successful? It's stupid. Spend tons of money for a story and don't use is it. The only people that live are gay couple. And what's even worse the little Asian girl dies and the couple have the strength to move on. Now when one the gay guys thinks about killing himself. Nope the other gay is like I can't go on. Daughter dies, we good, husband may die, I can't go on.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
Was it a gay couple in the book? I'm not a guy. I just asked this to see if the book had the same thing as the movie. Which is very self explanatory by my straight forward question. Stop looking for ways to be mad. It's never that deep unless someone actually says something that's that deep. Sometimes a question is just a question.
i love trailers like this that catches your attention by the mood of the music, how the music switches into something ominous, uses sounds as beats with physical action and doesn't show you much of what the movie may be about. especially since this is from M Night Shyamalan i cant wait it to see the twist and turns. and since there's 2 other screenwriters it might be better since he has his own unique way to end his films, this might be different and actually good.

Huge fan of Shyamalan. Love his style of thrillers especially the ones with a massive plot twist like The sixth sense, The village, Devil (he was a co-writer in that), etc. Can anyone please suggest more such movies please??
I love how Bautista keeps choosing Auteurs to work with. Denis Villeneuve, Zack Snyder, M Night, Rian Johnson. Man's got an amazing taste when it comes to choosing roles.
This movie was garbage. Its characters were inconstant chess pieces in service to a meandering plot that changes its convictions half-way through and ultimately has nothing of value to say. Have you guys ever seen a movie before? What are you talking about?
Someone pointed out a great detail. Bautista and his cohorts are wearing shirt colors that symbolize the four horsemen of the apocalypse. From left to right. Black for Famine. Yellow in place of Pale for Death. Bautista is wearing a white shirt for Conquest. And the guy in red represents War.
The fact that this much was shown excites me cause obviously M Night always has twists and turns so if the trailer lets us know that much then there is another bigger twist lurking in the shadows. (My guess is the twist is that they are telling the truth and the apocalypse is real but maybe the family doesn’t have to die for it… not likely)
If you watch the last few seconds of the trailer beyond the title shot. You see another character with a white bag over their head. My guess is that it’s someone they know, and they have to make a decision about whether they die or not (or potentially another unseen character from their past is also in the room!)
Events happening on TV make it seem like the prophecy could be real. The little girl gets shot at the end accidentally fulfilling the prophecy. The remaining kidnappers kill each other. The two gay dudes are left alone and that's the movie

Unnerving, unsettling, creepy, and insane. Everything a film like this should be. Excited for this one.
Oh cool! You've already seen it?
Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who has faith in him. True faith in Jesus will have you bear good fruit and *drastically* change for the better! Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. 👍🏾
*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil.
I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!

Even if they’re terribly and super cringe at times, I feel like he’s one of those rare directors (like a Nolan) that simply gets to make whatever movie he wants to make and it’s gets a mainstream platform theatrical release.

Agreed
His films bring people joy, even if it might be for the undesired reasons sometimes, it wouldn't be the same without him.
I mean, Split was excellent so I know he *can* make great films. He just needs to realize that not every movie concept is instant gold which I think is his biggest mistake.

From left to right. Black for Famine. Yellow in place of Pale for Death. Bautista is wearing a white shirt for Conquest. And the guy in red represents War.
Well the apocalypse is its central theme so… yeah
The fact that this much was shown excites me cause obviously M Night always has twists and turns so if the trailer lets us know that much then there is another bigger twist lurking in the shadows.
