Out of all the doctors I listen to online, Joel Furhman has the most solid nutritional advice. When we eat dinner, one of us usually says, "Dr. Furhman would be proud of us." I have lost 40 pounds and am keeping it off because our eating has become our lifestyle. I learned how to eat from Dr. Furhman.

He is one of the biggest reasons I became vegan. I found a way that I could eat correctly and not have to worry about weight or health. The other thing that helped me was finding someone wonderful named Dixie. She got me really deeper into how to live the life and how to do the Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle and make it work.

I did one of those programs, didn’t help me with my food addiction and I always got frustrated because of the “allowed” proteins, as Chef AJ says we are outliers and finding plant based eating several years ago was helpful BUT I didn’t really deal with my food addiction because of social pressure, finding ETL and being told my arteries are starting to harden, makes me grateful to be an outlier!! Have a great day everyone and keep at it one day at a time!

Generally, I get concerned when doctors discourage all medical screening and medications considering that some of us are in less than perfect health. BUT when Dr. Fuhrman says it, my reaction is tempered by my tremendous respect for his knowledge and wisdom. I completely agree that we should question the medical paradigm and that what he's doing is much more productive. I appreciate that he, for one, does not require medical interventions as he's been doing his own program for many, many years. It's definitely an ideal way to live, but at 70, having lived a less than pristine life, I need to keep one foot in mainstream medicine, at least for screening. But for nutritional direction, he's my man.

I agree…with the emphasis on no medical intervention…but we do at our age (73) and just going on a WFPB lifestyle…and no looking back! I still am proactive on my bloodwork as I have hemochromatosis & degenerative disk disease & Afib.

I could listen to Dr Fuhrman for hours!
He is right on. 💯 Thank you - you both are lovely.
I agree - I absolutely love our food. I’d take a Japanese sweet potato with avocado, lemon, brussels and chickpeas any day over pizza or greasy burgers..
I literally can’t wait to pop out bed for my banana berry oatmeal each morning too 😋
Our bodies are incredible. Food is life 🙌🏻

The emotional after effect is real. I have been WFPB for 7 years but still recall my mother’s meat meals with great affection & occasional longing. I know perfectly well how bad those meals were now, I understand how ill I would feel if I ate them but I enjoyed them so much. All part of my food addiction being established so I must keep away from them.

Dr. Fuhrman is right, treat the cause.
My friend went to a doctor with a sinus infection & they told him it has nothing to do with the food he eats. It's the trees, flowers & grass. Lol
He told me he eats lots of white flour products & drinks plant based milks. They all turn to paste & mucus in the body. I hope he's slowly getting it. He's a baby vegan under my influence! Lol

A thought about orthorexia: I think it’s a real thing. I also think Dr. Fuhrman, Chef AJ and some other wise leaders offer a brilliant way to help manage it. The abstinence approach could help. Rather than the anxiety that comes with the idea of one foot in, one foot out (moderation) that Dr. Fuhrman has talked about. Thanks! Love!

Even eating around 700 - 800 cal of whole foods per day (1TBSP flax as only seeds) I still can't lose 2 pounds a week - (probably due to insufficient muscle mass/low basal metabolism) I have started to lose more hair though so I'm hesitatnt to stay that low - but there's no guarantee of 2 pounds per week even eating the right foods (I averaged about a pound a week for the past 5 months)

Why do the Healthie Emmie program? Because of what Dr Fuhrman says between minutes 19:07 and 26:38. Sometimes, to transition to a healthy body, you need someone to hold your hand to help you on the journey. Healthy Emmie's team and their process will get you there. Dr Fuhrman, Dr. McDougall, and others on Chef AJ show speak the truth, but for me, I needed the Healthy Emmie School to learn their lessons and implement the WBPB into my daily life. I haven't listened to this entire broadcast; I'm only at 26:50 minutes but I needed to stop the video and say "Dr Fuhrman, you're speaking the truth."
BTW, I've lost 47 pounds in the Healthie Emmie program in 4.5 months and I'm in the same age range as Chef AJ. I got a long ways to go to be at a healthy weight. However, for this moment I'm happy to eat a WBPB meal when I'm hungry and to eat until I'm not hungry anymore.

It IS known worldwide, but most of us choose the dark side: processed food & pills for our ills, thinking our doctor is doing the best for us.
