  • ‪@RavenSymoneUltimate‬ gained a reputation as one of the greatest child stars of all time by appearing in the Cosby Show and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. As an adult, she continued to make audiences laugh with That’s So Raven and many other comedy series and movies. But in a revealing episode of Scan My Brain, she opens up to Dr. Daniel Amen about the depression, anxiety, and irritability in her life. There are times when she goes inside her brain and can’t say a word or express herself. She calls it “burritoing.”
What a great term for something that so many people with depressive disorder experience. It’s when you want to wrap yourself up and hide from the world. How can you tell if you’re struggling with “burrito syndrome?” Look for these signs.

Thinking too far ahead creates anxiety.
Looking back too long leads to depression.
Take care of today so your future won't matter.

As a Christian, I see a lot of comments saying that she needs to turn to Jesus Christ for healing which I totally agree with, but I think it's important to clarify that the instant you become saved does not mean that you will become completely cured of depression on the spot. Let's not oversimplify things and have people expecting their lives to become perfect two seconds after they say the sinner's prayer. You can believe in Jesus and still have it be a healing process that takes time, prayer, fasting, worship, and repentance to complete. You also can experience instantaneous miracles (which I have), but I do think people need to be prepared that it can go either way. I don't think Christians are specific enough about what healing through Christ actually entails. They only say "turn to Jesus!" or "Jesus is the answer" and don't elaborate on what that actually means and it's important to realize that people who weren't raised in the church may not even know what you mean or where to start. It's also important to note that you can be a Christian and still have struggles or mental health issues, but there is hope in Christ to have the strength and grace to get through it.

I used to suffer anxiety and depression in high school. My therapist could only help for a while. It got so intense I couldn’t even sleep and was so miserable. But then, I meditated on a verse in the Bible and everything changed. Jesus changed everything. I live in so much joy and I know it wouldn’t have been possible with Him in my life. I hope Raven invites Jesus into her life. Everything can just change in an instant ❤️

Raven has a song called "Hollywood Life" and in that song it tells the truth. People go to the extreme to have the "Hollywood Life" but like Raven said "It's not always what it seems" It's amazing how everyone wants that life but if you dig deeper celebrities like her and Demi Lovato suffer from depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other things. People think because they have money and are on tv all of their problems are solved. Raven is just showing us that even if you have money and fame at the end of the day the problems are still there.

African Queen, mental health is certainly the problem in the "Hollywood Life". I also found this very helpful from the "Drew Barrymore Show". Drew and Demi talk about the difficulties of child stardom(just look that up). One thing (that I never thought of) really made me think when I watch the episode. You should really watch it. It opened my eyes more to the problem.

This will be the first summer (fingers crossed until it’s over) that I will not be hospitalized at an inpatient facility. I also want to add that along with healing the gut and checking for nutritional deficiencies, genetic testing is extremely important (23andMe). People with bipolar and other illnesses are more likely to have a gene mutation called MTHFR that affects up to 50% of the population. Genetic testing let’s you see all of your gene mutations and gives you strategies/supplements to counter deficiencies because of genetic vulnerabilities. Hope this helps!

I would love to one day have my brain scanned by you. My heart is heavy as I can feel the shame, and anger, hurt, and saddness Raven carries on the inside. Raven is such a beautiful soul. I feel she just got lost in the world. She is someone like myself with such a big heart who has been hurt tremendously, by a world who didn't really understand her nor did they really know her. She probably struggled knowing herself which in turn heightened all of those emotions. I can tell she feels emotions very intensely, and this is why she often will isolate herself from the world, because of fear of being mishandled. She doesn't like to show her vulnerability, because it makes her feel naked, and exposed. My heart is open for you Raven, and I pray you receive all the healing you need. Just please be gentle with yourself. There is no such thing as perfection, and once we understand that. The journey becomes alittle easier. ❤🙏

This actually seems like a really personal medical consultation, like not something we should be seeing or knowing about because it’s her personal business
But this does look seem and smell like a codependent relationship, she doesn’t seem to be in a healthy state of mind so I question the motives of anyone willing to come into her intimate life, because it’s just hard to be real and have a fulfilling love life when you feel broken and are struggling inside

    • @themaggattack

Watching Raven go through her mental hralth journey is helpful to others going through similar problems, though. If she wants to keep private about it then that's her right. But if she wants to share, then she should. It might make her feel less isolated to share.

    • @QueXLcior
      @QueXLcior 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@themaggattack I think it would be more appropriate for her to reveal as much as she wants about her journey AFTER she’s healed and things have been resolved and she’s in a healthy state of mind thinking clearly and feeling strong
When you’re struggling or not fully healthy it can actually compound the issue, because you are in a vulnerable position, to have that struggle be in the public eye whether you’re conscious of that or not can push you to become even more mentally ill, because of the scrutiny and extraneous opinions she will have to defend herself from. On top of defending yourself from people like the girl on the left who take advantage of your weaker, confused state and position (fame, power, celebrity). It’s harder to protect yourself mentally, when you’re mentally ill.

Her partner may be very supportive but sometimes we need to put the oxygen mask on ourselves First and then we can Love others to the fullest and receieve that in Return. Also in the moments of anxiety, Call upon the Lord, and ask Him to help ease your mind and watch that intense feeling calm down right away🙌 Mental Health Matters ! Get through it with God 🙏💞

Most families are spiritually mixed, especially black families. There's usually one who has been isolated to a particular timeline within a family and is being used as a host by others, so they've been isolated, gaslighted, traumatic, etc. in subliminal ways, until the surrounding "spiritual" groups have had their time, they they are abandoned, spiritually, even if not physically. So, when they do start to show signs of duress or depression, they are further gaslighted. Their trauma has always been the food source or currency for those around them. In some circumstances, it was a request to go offline or be hidden from fame that leads some to take on another identity, oftentimes being assisted by those who harassed you in one lifetime, surrounded you, then followed you into another. Many stars experience this in more than one lifetime. The soul essence is attached to the etheric part of the melenated vessel, so even when the Soul has had enough and a spirit walks in to continue to animate the vessel, the Soul is still attached to the vessel until chords are severed. It's the people she's surrounded by at this point. Her talent is not a curse. It's a gift. It's this culture that obsesses over people like her and become energy vampires. She didn't do anything wrong to seek temperance or mercy or forgiveness. Her energy and vessel is under attack by close energies.
