@@SuiGenerisAbbie My friend Viktor is sitting behind me, the girl next to him is a friend of his from Sweden. The rest of the people in the boat are a mix of some other friends who were part of the group that hiked to the beach, and other people that we didn't know.

1:16 I’m so proud of Gabe and how he and his channel have grown since I found him in 2015 or 2016 (my first video I saw on this channel was when you were robbed in Bogota as I was in the planning phase of my first trip to Colombia. I remember when you weren’t making a ton of money on TH-cam and would stay in a hostel and I’m not talking getting a private room in a hostel I’m talking sleeping in a bunk bed in a room with 11 other people or how you would sometimes take off from traveling because you needed to make some money. It feels good as a long time sub to see such a good dude succeed at doing what makes them the most happy🙌🏽

I met my wife on this island some 26 years ago. Still married! Seems to have changed considerably!

Cheers Gabriel! Nice seeing the island again. I lived on Ko Pha Ngan (sunset side of Haad Rin beach) for one year back in 1983-84. Rented an old fisherman's hut for $50./monthly. Didn't see another tourist for 6 months then. Way before any full moon party! Today I'm shocked the whole island has become SO POPULAR with SO MANY tourists!!! Anyway, modern traveling progress in full swing. Thank you for showing Ko Chang (Nanong). That island is still peaceful with less tourists. Maybe I'll visit someday. 72 Euro per night ? . Thats off the scale for what looks like a basic enough room .Maybe that Island is extra expensive ?I hope to be landing in Jomtien next week and have a large room booked with kitchen in a guesthouse for 14 euro a night .I stayed in the same place last year .
Yes, Ko Phangan is extra expensive. Also it depends on the time of year and how far in advance you book.
Imho the Full Moon party is over rated!! Half Moon party is more fun!! I did a month long no footwear challenge on this island back in 2001.
The best thing about the island is there is always cool people to meet!! Happy Travels

Looks a lot more laid back than Ko Samui. From what little we saw, seem to be closer to what I remember Ko Samui to be like 40 years ago.
Spent 2 weeks there in Sept 2017. Gorgeous. I remember paying $2-$8 USD/night for hostels…$8/day motorbike rental. Crazy how prices went that high in a short time

Seems the days of finding any good deals on Koh Phangan are getting difficult. The place Gabe is staying can be up to 6,000baht a night, even low season the cheapest price is over 2,000baht!
I lived here for 3.5 months in 2022. I miss it a lot!

Never been to Ko phangan, looks nice. Check out Khao Sok national park if you have not been there. Really incredible.
Howdy man, I think you'd love it, tons to do and they even have good gyms for working out. The only problem is expensive accommodation, but there are lots of cheap dorms. I haven't been to Khao Sok but have heard about it, sounds nice. I'm actually at the airport in Bangkok right now waiting for a flight, so my Thailand adventure is over. Have a great time. ✌️😎🍺

Yeah 80 USD a night. That is absolutely insane. Glad I went there in the 90's. I recommend Chiang Mai Gabe. Hope to see u there on this Thailand trip.
