Love the video! Could you maybe do another episode but with late night snacks that don't make a lot of noise (blender, food processor etc) when preparing? For us night shift workers or student night owls with roommates 🦉

Yes! Thank you for posting a video that encourages us to follow our hunger cues. The majority of the research coming out now about the positives of intermittent fasting are mostly testing men. My doctor encourages me to have a bedtime snack that includes protein, fat, and carbs. You guys are so on it!

The hot chocolate looks great! Is there a concern with the caffeine in the cocoa right before bed?
Definitely. This is not good for sleep in anyway shape or form.
My mother-in-law can have an espresso and go straight to sleep no issues. If I have 1 square of dark chocolate I'll be up until 3am 😂
Sadia specifically mentions using Dutch-processed cocoa, which has about 2/3rds less caffeine than regular cocoa.
I love these scientific videos combined with recipes! Also this one specific, because at night I have cravings of cashews and dates. Now I know why!

Creative cooking is always lovely! However, I would make these earlier during the day. Years ago, I used to snack until bedtime, but then tried out how it is to avoid eating after 8pm, and without any extra effort I lost 20Kg, and my sleep is much calmer. So that is my way. Key to amazing sleep is in knowing how to calm your nervous system, cooking the right kind of foods is certainly one way to achieve that.

Thank you for these recipes. I am wondering, are there any other recipes besides the cashew butter/bean dip that you love to make for bedtime snacks that do not contain cocoa? I find that eating any form of cocoa before bed gives me too much caffeine and actually causes me to stay awake rather than fall asleep.
This is a really great video, it’s awesome that you include all of the explanations to help people understand not only the why behind these ideas but how they can help themselves in general. I’m not a huge hot cocoa person but this hot cocoa looks too good to not try!
Just a note: cashew milk can be used in lieu of soymilk for the hot chocolate recipe if soy allergies are involved
