Sigh BBC, why do u not present some reality facts.. when covering such reports, the alarming reality is that the government seeing the potential implications of the report subdued it for 5 years, until ordered by the court to publish it, which they published after redacting many pages.. the narrative seems to be a praise on kerala govt for bringing this out.. except this had to be done because of directives by the court, starting from the formation of the committee to release of the report. The pessimistic actress is absolutely right.. they say nothing happens after they complain.. which is what is happening after this report came out.. the special investigation team is formed for the benefit of the perpetrators associated with the ruling party.. although in the light of this.. several fake extortion and fake harrasment cases going viral on media.. the direction of this issue is just changing.. everything is diluting.. everything will go back to usual.. one thing that can be easily implemented is the providing of basic facilities for women on the set.. the harrasment part is a long battle.. it will take some time to find the right solutions.. but no honest initiatives are seen so far from the responsible authorities.. the progressiveness in this state is definitely much better than other states in India.. but it is not ideal.. we have to work together to be the best role model in the world, not be satisfied just by being the best in India..

It’s these women who need the credit for raising awareness.

For the first time in India, a commission has been appointed to investigate the problems and challenges faced by women within the film industry. The first applause goes to WCC (Women in Cinema Collective), a group of women in Malayalam cinema, for their relentless efforts. As a result of their activism, several actress have come forward to share their experiences, many stars true faces were revealed and the Kerala government also deserves appreciation for taking the initiative to form this commission. In my opinion, if similar investigations are conducted in Bollywood and other industries, they will uncover more incidents than Kerala, perhaps even a thousand-fold!

There have been three false accusations this month alone, while the drug mafia within the film industry remains largely unchecked. Some members of WCC (Women in Cinema Collective) are reportedly involved in drug parties, and young men have raised concerns about the lack of investigation into WCC women. Additionally, questions remain as to why the police and courts have been unable to find sufficient evidence to prosecute the imprisoned Malayalam actor. It's hard to understand the direction in which these issues are heading. While women need protection, it seems that trust in institutions, including the WCC, is being eroded.

Yes, we do acknowledge the existence of the HEMA report and the govt. Support for the committee is exemplary!
We also accept that this is not something that happens only in Kerala ( obviously).
While lauding the first fact and accepting the second, IT IS STILL TRUE that the actions perpetuated were ALSO by Keralite men.
A place can be both good and bad, and obviously there are men who stand with women as well as men who are vile.
Please don't bring up the not all men/ Keralites - OF COURSE, we know.
But the focus is on the victims who are ALSO YOUR WOMEN - focus on THEM. And on the criminals - who need to be punished regardless.

Kerala is a literate state and no wonder women along with government took this initiative. It is in kerala the most police complaints are reported. Does it mean all things are going wrong there? No. It means people do not tolerate anything bad and they know their rights and reports complInts. This is same as in western developed countries. They report complains more. But underdeveloped countries or low literacy states do not report complains. See the report of druv rathe about kerala.

I think India should have to look into this foreign media trying to give wrong message or creating bad image for india, like what they are doing in Africa , india ,and other Asia specific countries. This is just opposite what the truth is . Only he Kerala ite known about. Its none of the business of bbc as we have an democratic and proper judicial system in this country. They will look into it and punish if there are any guilty. So bbc try to mind your own business.
