I love throwing knives. They're great because people never expect them which allows you (in certain situations) to get a bit cocky. They are also a great anti-shotgun tool.
great video, after seeing you in trials using the throwing knifes i tried it for myself. This has made my gunslinger my main character as this is so fun. I also started using the claw technique on my Ps4 controller as well, its difficult to get use to but so much easier to move around maps and get multiple kills keep up the great work.
Thanks for another great video TV. Love your attitude. Informative and offending great suggestions without implying that you are the ultimate authority or that your style is the only/master way to play. Keep up the good work!
You don't have to tell me twice. I love throwing knives and rely on them a lot. I use incendiary over gamblers dagger though because I feel like by the time I'm in another close quarters gun fight I'll have a throwing knife ready. I like how people really don't expect them since everyone in competitive uses night stalker or blade dancer. I also still like tripmines. Back before the nerf I would finish games with more trip mine kills than actual gun kills but. It's still good now though.
i main a nightstalker but i feel like i have a talent for hitting headshots with throwing knives like im not even joking i always seem to dome someone when i play gunslinger
Thanks TV, never thought about using knives like that from above, I only get a kill with them about 30% of the time. will definitely be practicing this.
I've been waiting a LONG time for this video, I've always loved your throwing knife game play and wanted to hear your methods/advice. thanks for the video TV!
Absolutely love throwing knives. I agree their damage should be restored to pre-nerf days. Additionally, anytime you hit a shoulder-charging Titan with a headshot throwing knife, it should be a one-shot kill, even if he's in mid-shoulder charge. You should get rewarded for a beautiful knife thrown at just the right time.
TV! I have a similar playstyle with a sidearm! Go up high, take 2 quick shots and pop a throwing knife in their dome, it's also great for rushing shotgunners
At the end of your videos, when you say, "Hopefully I'll catch you in the crucible," I always think to myself, "Please, no. I don't like getting embarrassed." Haha, thanks for another great video!
Great video TV!! Only thing I have to add as someone who mains GG is I like to, like you said, prime with a primary and then toss a TK as I'm straffing into cover. Most times, the enemy will either be pushing or straffing the same direction as they try to maximize damage before you disengage. That's the time to throw. Hope I didn't over complicate that haha
BRO!......that gameplay was bonkers! Your knifegame is just filthy. I love runnin' gunslinger bcuz it makes pretty much any weapon better with the 2 stackable perks in the class tree, but ALSO bcuz I agree that the satisfaction I get from it is 2nd to none for melee kills. Plus I think its one of the most reliable melee options too. I can guarantee I just got better myself bcuz of how well you explain everything bro, and I've never even thought of using a high approach with them so the hitbox is bigger, definitely one of the better teachers I've seen for sure. I always learn something after watching one of your vids. Nevermind the ridiculous gameplay to boot. Keep doin' you. Peace
Anime Watcher Oh yeah? What's your username in Destiny? I'd like to check just how easily you land them. Chances are that you have under 20 Stick Around medals.
Mitchacho M8 i main a warlock and i dont even have gunslinger upgraded to max but im telling you ill post up a video of me in a game where i can more then atleast 10 kills with my throwing knife.
I've seen a few attempts at this, couldn't stand any of them. It's one thing to go 1v3 and get chased off a revive and have to reset. Intentionally abandoning the engagement to encourage a revive just to farm more kills is far more disrespectful than any tea bag ever will be. The funny thing is the same people I've seen attempt this get mad when they're bagged during a game.
AmirBreakable Tv I stopped doing 1v3's. Felt like I was abusing Trials matchmaking and taking advantage of and humiliating casual gamers, the same people my channel seeks to help. Seems counter intuitive to drag their names through the mud on my channel.
This is why I respect you so much. Not wanting to humiliate someone who isn't as good as you really sets you apart. Thanks on behalf of us filthy casuals haha
I used to run goldy a lot until they nerfed it for the 2nd time. Was really good with knifes but fell outta it since. Nvr really thought of jumping above with knives but I'll jump back into it to try it out. Thx for the tips TV
Forgot to mention that the Throwing Knife seems to inherit some of the ADS "lock" if you throw one while ADS with your weapon, making the Shoot--Throw combination even more important.
Since the Gunslinger changes, I've started using Sealed Ahamkara Grasps on my Gunslinger to get double knives as well as the recovery and reload bonuses from Chain of Woe.
Hey true, I listen to all your videos and follow your guides. everything you said has been truthful that's why I been subscribe to you and tell my friends about you. some videos you have are a year old and such and I was wondering if you would do a follow up video , a refresher since the format changes somewhat. alot of things happen a year a go. also if it's possible can you make a guide for this new trials format they have. it's connection base. I want to know your thoughts and opinions on it and see what we can do against players that has better connection.
Idea: Could Holtzman and you and maybe another good gunslinger try for an "All Throwing Knife Kills Trials Card" (Supers still allowed) and of course only the kill blow needs to be with the knife That would be fun to watch.
Anime Watcher Not so fast buddy, they should have nerfed them. You would get s team full of sunsingers that couldn't really play but they could throw nades like crazy.
Hey TV, long time sub. If you wouldn’t mind, could you do a throwing knife guide for D2, I’ve found it much harder to use them now than in D1. Will be greatly appreciated if you do.
Noooooo tv you gave away my secrets. It was good to see someone else destroy with throwing knives. On perk choice i prefer circle of life because precision throwing knives give you more super energy. I used to run gamblers dagger but they changed circle and ny build is designed around getting my super really fast
Throwing knives need a buff, 1) Headshot starting damage should stay the same but body shot should be 122 2) Incendiary needs a buff so more people will choose it over jugglers(or gamblers can't remember names) 3) The total incendiary damage w headshot should be 198 so it will not kill any MAX armour guardians but anyone who isn't as smart or who prefers agility/reco will be killed 4) If the knife is missed and you run over to it sitting on the ground and either slide, crouch or emote ON TOP OF the knife the cool down should be reset. My opinions please tell yours! If you agree please UP vote :)
your throwing knife skillz remind me of a top 100 streamer called IHanuman.. He mains Gun and i watched him play; he never misses them. Anyway dont want to support other streams on your channel just wanted to say your very skilled your knifes
he plays on 3-4 sensitivity so the aim assist does the aiming for him. And also that trick where you shoot first and then throw the knife just make sure that you are acutally locked onto the enemt
Anime Watcher Anime, dude this is legitimately dumb man. This argument makes no sense and is totally made up. You can't say stuff like that with literally no support or video evidence. Knives don't work that way dude.
Anime Watcher No. there's no aim assist on throwing knives because you don't aim them. And they have travel time. Aim assist actually hurts things with travel time.
Thanks for the content TV! I forget, what did the 10% nerf to Throwing knives hurt? I saw a lot of headshot-headshot combos. Did you used to be able to hit a bodyshot on the hand cannon?
Nice video, feels like old TV which made me like the channel. Lately there has just been a bunch of dumps from twitch streams which are great but not as enjoyable to me.
i was know between my friends because of my throwing knifes :) i miss you bro i dont play destiny anymore because my playstation broke so i drifted away from the channel. came back to see how things were
bro no it's still a beast if you can be accurate. I just picked it up again last night and ran iron banner. I dropped a match with 5 snipe kills and the rest were all hawkmoon. 26 kills. 10.5kdr. not lying. it can still be a little inconsistent but not if you're focused purely on being accurate with it.
TV, it seems like my throwing knives dont get thrown as fast as yours once you fire. There seems to be a delay, do you take a shot and imediately go for the throwing knife?
they're the panic switch just outside of shotgun range. it's not crazy powerful like warlock melee, but has its place. TOTALLY fun to nail a headshot with one.
Please do a video on the "Shoulder Charge" sometime, I have been playing Destiny for two years, but I can't get it to work! I must be missing something "101" about it.
Thanks. I still get killed by it in Crucible. Seems like I can't get it to trigger, it's sprint (How long is not clear to me) and then R2, isn't it? I feel dumb asking, but that is how we learn.
You need to have the shoulder charge node selected in your striker subclass tree. After sprinting for a short duration you will see a light blue glow around your screen. Once this glow is visible, press the melee button to perform a shoulder charge. Efficient shoulder chargers will often slide shotgun before a charge, using the charge as a finisher instead of an engage. Needs very precise timing to pull off.
TV, do you think that throwing knives are in a good place right now? I think that they should have a little bit more damage personally but be more reliant on accuracy (smaller knife hitbox.)
Could not agree more, Gunslingers have been very consistent in terms being generally balanced. To me they have always seemed a bit lackluster in damage since their throwing knife damage nerf a while back. In my opinion, their damage should return back to what is was.
That's simply because the perk needs about a second or even less to proc. Meaning that trading will not give you the benefit of the perk, you gotta walk away as a winner from that gun fight to get the perk to proc.
Hey can you do a video about sniping when the enemy team is just rushing. The no trials meta is just mainly shotguns and us snipers are losing the battle.
do throwing knives work with shotguns?? i wanna play gunslinger but i feel like i suck in it + im more of a shotgunner and i feel gunslinger dosent work with shotgun ( i swear i was a shotgunner even before april update i just suck with sniper but im gettin better with no land )
I love throwing knives. They're great because people never expect them which allows you (in certain situations) to get a bit cocky. They are also a great anti-shotgun tool.
" *hand cannons* have great in-air *accuracy* "
*hand cannons* *accuracy*
ok…
when you realize the gunslinger could actually be very deadly.
Throwing Knives have always been my favorite thing in pvp. Thanks for the awesome tips TV.
Did someone say vertical space
Conor K this is the best comment XD
great video, after seeing you in trials using the throwing knifes i tried it for myself. This has made my gunslinger my main character as this is so fun. I also started using the claw technique on my Ps4 controller as well, its difficult to get use to but so much easier to move around maps and get multiple kills keep up the great work.
Just want to say I love your vids, they are so beneficial, and I can tell you are a man of character and integrity. Thumbs up, TV.
"Use that vertical space"!
Thanks for these gunslinger tips TV! I love them!
Thanks for another great video TV. Love your attitude. Informative and offending great suggestions without implying that you are the ultimate authority or that your style is the only/master way to play. Keep up the good work!
I've been recently trying to figure out a best way to work with hunter, this really helped me realize what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!
I also still like tripmines. i main a nightstalker but i feel like i have a talent for hitting headshots with throwing knives like im not even joking i always seem to dome someone when i play gunslinger
Man I love the background music.
Haven't played Gunslinger since TTK came out until two weeks ago and loving it: much under-appreciated subclass.
Thank you for the video I was wondering how you were so good with them recently
fewer corn dog references. but I do like throwing knives as a warrior.....so I guess we're hitting that like button.
man did that guy reference multiple TV videos at once with a corn dog kicker? he's the best. did he also reply to his own comment? Nice.
Thanks TV, never thought about using knives like that from above, I only get a kill with them about 30% of the time. will definitely be practicing this.
What takes more skill to use: throwing knives or shoulder charge?
I've been waiting a LONG time for this video, I've always loved your throwing knife game play and wanted to hear your methods/advice. thanks for the video TV!
Absolutely love throwing knives. I agree their damage should be restored to pre-nerf days. "That's not a knife that's a spoon.""I guess you've played knifey spoony before."
finally the good players are realizing the potential of throwing knives
At the end of your videos, when you say, "Hopefully I'll catch you in the crucible," I always think to myself, "Please, no. I don't like getting embarrassed." Haha, thanks for another great video!
Your Content is great dude
Great video TV!! Only thing I have to add as someone who mains GG is I like to, like you said, prime with a primary and then toss a TK as I'm straffing into cover. Most times, the enemy will either be pushing or straffing the same direction as they try to maximize damage before you disengage. That's the time to throw. Hope I didn't over complicate that haha
I like throwing knives :P Real life
Woah you're that knife guy I watch
I don't have a good Matador so to combat them I do shotgun from just outside of matador range, then finish them off with a throwing knife.
can you make a video on your gunslinger setup? Such as perks, node choices, etc.
Will Neyhart he already did
The description sounds like something a klingon would say. Qapla' TV.
With gameplay like that I can see why Bungie nerfed them...
JustJason hi
bungie nerfed them because hunters had a higher overall kd. get its a joke but still kinda dumb. No one intelligent was saying nerf throwing knives
+Jeremiah Budder too easy to land them
Anime Watcher Oh yeah? What's your username in Destiny? I'd like to check just how easily you land them. Chances are that you have under 20 Stick Around medals.
Mitchacho M8 i main a warlock and i dont even have gunslinger upgraded to max but im telling you ill post up a video of me in a game where i can more then atleast 10 kills with my throwing knife.
Do the 35 1V3 Kill challenge. Like so that TV sees this comment...
I've seen a few attempts at this, couldn't stand any of them. It's one thing to go 1v3 and get chased off a revive and have to reset. Intentionally abandoning the engagement to encourage a revive just to farm more kills is far more disrespectful than any tea bag ever will be. The funny thing is the same people I've seen attempt this get mad when they're bagged during a game.
yeah lets watch TV farm the other team.... ahh no thanks
Thanks on behalf of us filthy casuals haha
u said what i wanted to sir : )
I used to run goldy a lot until they nerfed it for the 2nd time. Was really good with knifes but fell outta it since. Nvr really thought of jumping above with knives but I'll jump back into it to try it out. Thx for the tips TV
Thanks for the tips, helpful as always

Since the Gunslinger changes, I've started using Sealed Ahamkara Grasps on my Gunslinger to get double knives as well as the recovery and reload bonuses from Chain of Woe.
CJXJ220 you mean double trip mines
No, that's the Young Ahamkara's Spine. Sealed Ahamkara Grasps give you a second melee charge, and melee damage can reload your primary weapon.
Friends call me The Surgeon.
this was very helpful as I intend start running with goldy again soon.
Very cool! Awesome advice!
Can you imagine if gunslingers had ophidian aspect? Holy QuickDraw throwing knives
so is it bop bop or bop bop bop haha
Wish you could throw knifes this fast in D2
Miss the old days
Idea: Could Holtzman and you and maybe another good gunslinger try for an "All Throwing Knife Kills Trials Card" (Supers still allowed) and of course only the kill blow needs to be with the knife
That would be fun to watch.
I remember when this combo with the last word was dirty in year 1
u r the best TV
hey Tv, great video man! can you do a video emphasizing smoke grendaes? I'd like to know how you use them aswell as your opinion about them. Thx
Love the gunslinger. I only wish they didn't nerf tripmines.
its like saying they shouldnt have nerfed firebolts
Anime Watcher Not so fast buddy, they should have nerfed them. You would get s team full of sunsingers that couldn't really play but they could throw nades like crazy.
***** yea just like a group of gunslingers, one gunslinger grantees a round with their super
both nerfs were hella anyone to the people who mained them but both necessary
Anime Watcher OK OK OK truce.
The Jade Rabbit archetype of scout rifles used to be able to body throwing knife people before they nerfed them ;(.
Great content TV.
Hey tv great vid. Also, since a lot of strikers are using juggernaut lately, can you make a video showcasing shoulder charge?
thats awesome ima main gunslinger for the rest of the week startin now
i expected a video like this from sirdimetrious
Hey TV, long time sub. If you wouldn’t mind, could you do a throwing knife guide for D2, I’ve found it much harder to use them now than in D1. Will be greatly appreciated if you do.
Using Kehpri's Sting with incendiary knives, INSTA KILL..
Noooooo tv you gave away my secrets. It was good to see someone else destroy with throwing knives. On perk choice i prefer circle of life because precision throwing knives give you more super energy. I used to run gamblers dagger but they changed circle and ny build is designed around getting my super really fast
What the actuall fuck you are such a beast with this throwing knives.
wish I could be like you skill wise
904th
Throwing knives need a buff,
1) Headshot starting damage should stay the same but body shot should be 122
2) Incendiary needs a buff so more people will choose it over jugglers(or gamblers can't remember names)
3) The total incendiary damage w headshot should be 198 so it will not kill any MAX armour guardians but anyone who isn't as smart or who prefers agility/reco will be killed
4) If the knife is missed and you run over to it sitting on the ground and either slide, crouch or emote ON TOP OF the knife the cool down should be reset.
My opinions please tell yours! If you agree please UP vote :)
another great video
could you please do a video on hunter movement? (bones, shadestep, fleet footed)
hey tv good video!
what constitutes a higher impact hand cannon? is that eyasluna, imago, etc?
Could you do video of crawl gameplay? It would be really helpful. Thank you.
great tips enjoyed
I love my daggers, in year 1 I got a bugged out kill, one knife caused a double headshot kill lol been using em ever since hehehe
TV, do you think knifes should be un nurfed?
honestly, they are too easy to land. and if they buffed them it would be like firebolts all over again
the difference between bop bop and bop bop
Can you do a video on how to take down the meta i.e. Clever dragon
your throwing knife skillz remind me of a top 100 streamer called IHanuman.. He mains Gun and i watched him play; he never misses them. Anyway dont want to support other streams on your channel just wanted to say your very skilled your knifes

True Vanguard what so aim assist isnt helping you?
Anime Watcher No. there's no aim assist on throwing knives because you don't aim them. And they have travel time. Aim assist actually hurts things with travel time.
@true vanguard making gunslinger cool again
Nice vid bro! What sens do you use?
Thanks for the content TV! I forget, what did the 10% nerf to Throwing knives hurt? I saw a lot of headshot-headshot combos. Did you used to be able to hit a bodyshot on the hand cannon?
Since knives are so good. Would u prefer disipline, strenght or intellect, disipline
itzGodly YT i prefer running strength and discipline personally
itzGodly YT a 3-4-4 is nice for gunslinger
I have an intellect - disc set of armor for sixes and disc - strength for three's. Works like charm.
I used my vertical space
Nice video, feels like old TV which made me like the channel. Lately there has just been a bunch of dumps from twitch streams which are great but not as enjoyable to me.
i was know between my friends because of my throwing knifes :) i miss you bro i dont play destiny anymore because my playstation broke so i drifted away from the channel. came back to see how things were
._. at 14 seconds. that throwing knife was so mlg it didnt even hit the enemy. LOL so comp.
Using Hawkmoon still? That's ballsy... :)
bro no it's still a beast if you can be accurate. I just picked it up again last night and ran iron banner. I dropped a match with 5 snipe kills and the rest were all hawkmoon. 26 kills. 10.5kdr. not lying. it can still be a little inconsistent but not if you're focused purely on being accurate with it.
love ur vids
TV, it seems like my throwing knives dont get thrown as fast as yours once you fire. There seems to be a delay, do you take a shot and imediately go for the throwing knife?
👌🏼 nice video
Most of his knifes you could do the same thing with amplitude
SNIPELikeAChamp body shot with hand cannon and throwing knife no, and warlock jump is also much different than hunter's
Hey Why dont you try this montecarlo, the raid fusion and scavenger that could be a shit ton of melees
What are your views on sticky grenades and the aim assist associated with them (fusion grenades in particular)?
Nice tips. I always wondered how to properly use the knife, the are kind of useless for me.
thanks for the video
Don't use them because they are worthless against a skilled team
Nah dude
Peter Bonsignore to a certain extent I agree with you but I think they are still viable and fun to use :)
they're the panic switch just outside of shotgun range. it's not crazy powerful like warlock melee, but has its place. TOTALLY fun to nail a headshot with one.
Hush little baby don't you cry
Not true at all if you master them
Please do a video on the "Shoulder Charge" sometime, I have been playing Destiny for two years, but I can't get it to work! I must be missing something "101" about it.
Van Porter It got nerfed with roi
Thanks. I still get killed by it in Crucible. Seems like I can't get it to trigger, it's sprint (How long is not clear to me) and then R2, isn't it? I feel dumb asking, but that is how we learn.
You need to have the shoulder charge node selected in your striker subclass tree.

Efficient shoulder chargers will often slide shotgun before a charge, using the charge as a finisher instead of an engage. Needs very precise timing to pull off.
Vanpyro Gaming thank you
unfortunately they were NERFED
BOP! BOPPIE
I can never seem to melee off as fast as you whenever you get a shot off. Do you use bumper jumper?
TV, do you think that throwing knives are in a good place right now? I think that they should have a little bit more damage personally but be more reliant on accuracy (smaller knife hitbox.)
Nathan Spero I feel they're in an ok spot but they could definitely do with a nice damage buff
Nathan Spero no they are garbo af they need to be put back where they were same as trip mines
Could not agree more, Gunslingers have been very consistent in terms being generally balanced. To me they have always seemed a bit lackluster in damage since their throwing knife damage nerf a while back. In my opinion, their damage should return back to what is was.
Can you kill with a Palindrome headshot and then knife headshot, or does it have to be a handcannon with higher impact?
Morgan Coe yes you can.
christopher cardinal Thanks
Np, as long as you get a head shot doesn't matter the handcannon impact type.
I'd have to check again but I believe as long as one of either the shot from the gun or the knife are precision. The other hit can be a body.
Well most of the time. Max armor titans and ram locks would probably still need both to be precision. I could be wrong.
Sometimes I trade with a crit knife and I don't always get the cool down it weird
That's simply because the perk needs about a second or even less to proc. Meaning that trading will not give you the benefit of the perk, you gotta walk away as a winner from that gun fight to get the perk to proc.
I used to main golden gun but now I feel weird unless I use night stalker and shadestep :|
Hey can you do a video about sniping when the enemy team is just rushing. The no trials meta is just mainly shotguns and us snipers are losing the battle.
Im NOT saying shotguns are OP its just that everything else is too weak against them.
thos shit is probably getting nerfed
do throwing knives work with shotguns?? i wanna play gunslinger but i feel like i suck in it + im more of a shotgunner and i feel gunslinger dosent work with shotgun ( i swear i was a shotgunner even before april update i just suck with sniper but im gettin better with no land )
and what exotic should i use with gunslinger?
do you play with ace of spades with stability or range?
Guillermeichon a.k.a. timetravelingtaco pb he said on stream
