I jumped back onto gunslinger a few weeks back and I was wrecking. Eyasluna with average perks and queenbreakers bow. It was so much fun. Fun subclass and it was fun sniping the snipers with my fusion :p
Bro TV thank you so much. I remember when you came out with your video on the equipment build before the nerf and I absolutely loved it. It was my favorite thing to use before the nerf (which I also disagree with). Lately I have been trying to bring it back, just because of how great it was. It was super awesome to see that you still use it.
Gunslinger...My 1st subclass...hopped back on him about 3 months ago and man there is just nothing like playing gunslinger. Double tripmines double burning knives and combustion and scavenger with ahamkaras is soo good! Trip mines have actually taken my gameplay to a new level. They have made me a much more strategical player and really forced me to think my engagements and approaches out in a fast paced environment. Oh and of course my favorite gun in the game and my go too hand cannon: Ace of Spades! It feels so good and firefly is just added fun factor on this build!
I recommended this build to my friend a couple months ago and he didn't listen. He only doesn't like your vids cause I do lol but he finally tried it out and now he's liking destiny again lol so thank you TV your awesome
TV this is an awesome video and awesome build! Love the throwing knife footage and everything. The funny thing is, is this is the only build I will use when I play hunter. The tripmine kills are funny/rewarding. Keep up the great content and keep on inspiring us guardians to have fun with this game!
Since you're using a shotty and need to constantly pick up ammo, don't sleep on scavenger. Yeah the extra stability from gunslinger's trance is nice, but you don't need it if you use a primary you're extremely familiar with. Every ammo brick gives back 20% of your cooldown on your knife and nade. One spec box gives you 40%(!) back. Get a primary with army of one on top of that and you have your abilities just as often as someone running in circles with frostees
You could also use the fr0st-ee5 exotic, put on scavenger, and have a sidearm/shotgun that has the army of one perk or even grenadier. I believe you'll get your abilities back faster if you like to move around with this build a lot because of the synergy you get from running around a lot, getting a kill that procs your perk, and picking up a primary ammo brick from the opponent you just killed to proc scavenger. Plus, with special ammo appearing more frequently, you'll have a good chance to pick up a brick every respawn. You just won't get extended tripmine time and no extra grenade. But with the fr0st-ee5, you should get your grenade about every 15 seconds if you're moving around a lot..probably. Lol. Just my two cents.
I revisited gunslinger while playing a private match with my clan the other night and the tripmine salt was real. I had been running so much nightstalker that I forgot how much fun gunslinger can be. I have a fun weekend ahead of me in the crucible I think.
dude. you spoke my mind! that's exactly why i love having replenish on all my shotguns... whenever i use a super, I ALWAYS overextend into the enemy territory!! hahah especially with the current economy of special ammo and losing it every death.. replenish is one of the most underrated perks!
Always some great and informative videos TV! btw, been really loving watching you in the tournaments lately, especially you and DrLupo together, two classy gentlemen right there!
I love the gunslinger, it's my main subclass. It has nice tools, but they are not encumbering or weird to use. To me it's the purest shooter class of the game and I love it because it allows to focus on good gunplay with fluidity.
Kneepads doesn't stack with Fleetfooted, unfortunately. Mained a Bladedancer for the first year and a half (i.e. the shotgun era) and did tests. The slide distance boost remains the same, meaning if you're only looking for slide distance, you might as well go with Quickdraw.
I used to LOVE playing the gunslinger this way! It was literally the only reason i would use anything other than bones. Haven't used trips since the inexplicable nerf :(
My all time favorite guns are Against all odds and the Her benevolence. Just superb, reliable guns. I still use them all the time in PVP. Glad to see Im not the only one who still kept their Against all Odds :)
I think one of the reasons you don't see Gunslinger as much as other classes despite them still being pretty effective is because it has a slightly higher skill ceiling than the other subclasses. You get no damage resistance in the super and it requires you to aim pretty precisely (especially when compared to stuff like FoH and Nova Bomb), so it's a super where you have to consider carefully where and how you use it. Like you said, it's terrible in tight spaces and it's not a super you can just pop when your health is low to get out of a bad situation. The melee is also harder to use than most others as it has a pretty high potential of missing.
I would think in the build stats, at minimum you would want 5 in Discipline, so 4/5/2 Int/Dis/Str seems to make more sense. As mentioned, getting a throwing dagger back instantly negates a real need for Str. Heck, 5/5/1 sounds even better to me, but I don't use Throwing Knives as much. Regardless, throwing Trip Mines faster sounds vital.
I still have an Against All Odds! It has Feeding Frenzy and Spray and Play! Great for any activity...Young Ahamkhara's Spine is the only way I roll my Hunter. Gunslinger is all I do. And my hunter is my best in the crucible, and I'm terrible in the crucible. Tripmines are so fun and dirty... it's all about the baiting.
Tripmines can actually one shot if a max armor player is literally touching them as they detonate. Has happened to me a few times and I tested it in private matches.
I love gunslinger, been my main since the beginning. But I do find that it's harder to use now. I am guilty of pushing into tight spaces and I've been working in that. So I have an idea for you TV, make a video or series of videos showing your methods and tips for each class/subclass of this "final meta". I think this would help a lot of people such as me who are struggling with these recent nerfs. If you read this TV, maybe a like or comment yes or no so I know you saw it. Good Luck TV, but is there any chance I can see you on Destiny on XboxOne?
I just HATE the nerf to throwing knives. I think the nerf to tripmines was actually warranted, as annoying as it is. But throwing knives? Last night in crucible, I landed two AMAZING practically cross map throwing knife HEADSHOTS, while using the burn perk. But because of that nerf, they survive. Seriously bungie, double fusion grenades on a 25 second cooldown are a thing, but you cant make throwing knife headshots with burn one shot even low armor? So stupid.
I very thoroughly disagree, especially when compared to something like Shoulder Charge, where all you have to do is sprint in someone's general direction and hit the melee button and you will kill them every single time. Every. Single. Time. Landing a precision hit with a throwing knife on a moving target is ridiculously hard compared to the other melees. It should be rewarded with a kill.
Thomas Cooper if they removed some of the aim assist on throwing knives I'd be okay with them being a one shot kill. They're not hard to land on people at all. I usually never play GG but, decided to do it for the emblem through pvp. I was surprised at how easy it was to land throwing knives. Maybe I just have good aim but, I feel like it has loads of aim assist.
Everyday Arsenal The guy above me is right man. Shoulder charge isn't as consistent as you seem to think. Besides, I play gunslinger more than the other subclasses on hunter- throwing knives aren't difficult. They should not be rewarded with a kill.
It's my least favorite patch of all time, and I don't think the tripmine nerf was warranted. They justified the nerf by saying that Gunslingers had higher K/D's than the other classes, if I remember correctly. A) Why is that a problem? B) We have the squishiest super with the best kill potential at mid-far range, we play kind of passively with that super-good super, and our equipment encourages gun play over rushing with shotguns to trade with someone. I agree with TV, I hope they pull back that nerf, it just doesn't look like it'll happen :(
So, you've revisited an old build. Fun and all, but how what about a variant? The change would be Frostees, with the Memory of Felwinter. Double grenades and throwing knifes, just no super. You'd need to find a secondary with some sort of regen, or not rely as heavily on something like replenish too. I've had fun with this, the best pairing I've found in regards to weapons would be Imago Loop rchetype (who woulda guessed), and Ice Breaker.
Unbeltedguide9 I've been rolling with a 10 Armor Felwinters with Frostees setup as well. I think it goes alright... until you match a team using bubbles that nobody wants to break.
Great video TV! I may have missed it but did you show your armor/recovery/speed build? I'd be curious how you prioritize those three in this build. Thanks!
The problem with golden super is that it has no buffs. Yes, it is a 1HK high range super, but considering that too many maps are built for close quarters, people can just hide or run away. THAT'S the problem with Golden Gun. People can easily outrun the super. Basically, good players will FORCE a golden gun to come to them. And although that yes, it is a smart move, the golden gun user has no choice but to either chase or waste his Goldie. As soon as they get into a tight space, all they have to do is put a couple shots into you and hope their team mates do the rest. OR they can toss a lightning or spike grenade, or hover with a shotty or sidearm, or stick you and kill you in one hit.. it's not hard to shut down a golden gun up close. Additionally, the equipment actually takes some sort of thought to use. The grenades choices aren't like other grenades from other classes that just track or track and stick and do all the work for you. The throwing knives have aim assist, yes, but they don't turn your screen to hit people like warlock melees do. That's why Gunslinger isn't that popular.
My Her Courtesy has Accurized Ballistics, Aggressive Ballistics, Rangefinder, Reinforced Barrel and Kneepads. I used it last meta for shits and giggles and some kid got super pissed and sent me like 3 messages of hate mail in a span of 2 mins. Funniest thing ever, haven't really used it since though due to the nerf.
Gunslinger has been my main since you made that first video. Also, should I go for range or stability on Ace of Spades? I'm really used to using perfect balance, but I feel like I need to match the Eyasluna's range.
hey tv, i noticed you were using combustion in this video instead of deadeye. a video you came out with a while ago suggested using deadeye i believe. any reason for the change? or just for funsies?
Decided to use a sniper finally. I have to say I don't know why I never did before. I'm having some of my best games ever, it's so easy to snipe! Dropping 5k/d + games all night sniping. Without shotgun apes it's even easier now.
Would you say destiny is more thumb skill or Gaming experience?Ive played almost every first person shooter and destiny is the only one who had pushed me to get better(Even when i am already good)...You seem VERY good at this game so whats your opinion?Thumb skill or experince?
Destiny's most important skills in my opinion is game knowledge and POSITIONING. Anyone can jump around and spam a sidearm but what sets the good from the great is positioning. Making sure you always have the upper hand in gunfights, which can be quite lengthy at times, especially since characters have so much mobility.
john weaver he run 3 Armor (4 with +1 Armor from Chest) 7 Recovery and 6 agility. 4 Armor for survive against tripmine. i think high agility, 8 or 10, is better for outstrafe enemies in gunfight. guardian.gg/en/profile/2/TrueVanguard/5
I like how tv can find so many solo gun fights but whenever u I play pvp that's nearly non existent. Plus I almost always lose a gun fight to a hand cannon whenever I use a auto rifle. I watch this because tv makes destiny look fun yet I main titanfall two with a 3.6 kd and a 2.2 kd against players but on destiny I have a 1.37kd
What I don't think is any fun is only seeing everyone push together that's so boring and is against solo players plus abilities are used so much it's annoying. Titanfall two abilities are used and Titans but gun fights actually exist and are fair. People do everything there it's so damn fun to see such a huge variety of how people play than at destiny it's the same play style for everyone for over two years. How is that fun for pvp to have such a mainstream style of play go on for most of the games life span?
Shadow Gaming101 see that gets repetitive and boring by now. That's not even a gun fight more of a bait plus not to mentioned some primaries have clear advantages over others. In titanfall two you have to have gun fights eventually plus with the increased movement speed it's easy and quick for gun fights. Nearly everything there can be deadly even the weak guns. One game destiny has really repetitiveness and the other titanfall two nearly everything is used and everything can be used with decent or better success plus all dlc is free. Which sounds more fun for pvp? I already been no life gaming destiny since release now I'm trying titanfall two more.
Sounds like you might need to limit your sight lines and maybe choose a different route that will give you some nice cover to fall back to when you take enemy fire. But you never know too. With SBBM and a decrease in players, you might also be playing against a lot of good opponents too.
PhoEverMad I can get a lot of good angles and get to places quickly unless people are sort of camping an area. Plus all I do fire team or not is challenge to a solo gun fight I almost never intentionally travel in a group. I hate the match making since I'm a one percentile player if I solo pvp I almost always get matched agains the same sweaty try hards. Bungie should make a competing game mode where if you win and can get win streaks you can earn to reforge a weapon or add a intrinsic perk to a weapon but be careful of what that perk can be so the weapon doesn't become too op.
I jumped back onto gunslinger a few weeks back and I was wrecking. Eyasluna with average perks and queenbreakers bow. It was so much fun. Fun subclass and it was fun sniping the snipers with my fusion :p

"and things go BOOM when you kill them" haha! Love that comment. In fact I love all the stuff you do TV. Thanks for keeping Destiny fun for us.

Wow! I do almost exactly what you do i use ace of spades stillpiercer young ahamkaras spine gamblers dagger and incindeary knives. So fun!!
first curst + trowing knife is so fun !
I recently got a her courtesy with crowd control, luck in the chamber, and rifled barrel
I saw that double throwing knife headshot feed on Icarus and actually ran away in the opposite direction trying to avoid being in a montage.
This is the build i've been using for months now, i use triple jump aswell
Hey TV, thanks for all your work!
Seems you forgot to leave a link to your old video you talked about here
Kneepads doesn't stack with Fleetfooted, unfortunately. Mained a Bladedancer for the first year and a half (i.e. the shotgun era) and did tests. The slide distance boost remains the same, meaning if you're only looking for slide distance, you might as well go with Quickdraw.
I did tests as well, and you are right. They don't stack.
The_Infamous_Me they don't stack, but the increased movement speed on sprint plus slide is pretty fun
True Vanguard are u gonna up clips from sweats with viewers?
That is very true.
The good old gunslinger is making a comeback, also I definitely remember that gunslinger equipment build vid
I love to see you using the ace, it's my favorite gun but I never see it used
keep up the great work TV.
I used to LOVE playing the gunslinger this way! It was literally the only reason i would use anything other than bones. Haven't used trips since the inexplicable nerf :(
In my best Shaxx voice...YES THIS IS AMAZING! Great vid.
My all time favorite guns are Against all odds and the Her benevolence. Just superb, reliable guns. I still use them all the time in PVP. Glad to see Im not the only one who still kept their Against all Odds :)
I love your vids TV, keep up the great work.
I saved my against all odds as well. I still run the old "last word, felwinters, against all odds" combo from time to time
I think one of the reasons you don't see Gunslinger as much as other classes despite them still being pretty effective is because it has a slightly higher skill ceiling than the other subclasses. Time to celebrate your age of triumphs with your best clips, plays, builds and weapons of your 3 yrs in Destiny
I reset my hunter and don't have golden gun levelled up. Watching this makes me miss it so much
great vid! i've been using golden gun as well and i love it!
wow that is fun to watch! gotta luv gunslinger!
Yessss I've been using this build ever since you've made the video, fuck the nerfs I make this shit work absolutely love it
i love this loadout with chaperone because its based all on precision which i like
Built a defender Titan around replenish curtain call, it's so strong in this meta
I still have an Against All Odds! It has Feeding Frenzy and Spray and Play! Great for any activity...Young Ahamkhara's Spine is the only way I roll my Hunter. Gunslinger is all I do. My her courtesy has rangefinder, final round, rifled barrel, and field choke :D. after about 80 rerolls
I got a 4/4/4 gunslinger and 2/5/5 nightstalker btw love your videos keep up the good work
Can't unsee, Elvis on the T-shirt.
i still have my against all odds it has crowd control counterbalance and high cal
Def a beast setup TV!! Not as good as it once was before they nerfed Golden Gun to the ground, but hey, its still fun to use :)
Impressive plays mang
I've stil got my Against All Odds! Favourite HMG in the game.
love the Agianst all odds, I thought I was the only person who still had one
Tripmines can actually one shot if a max armor player is literally touching them as they detonate. Has happened to me a few times and I tested it in private matches.
Sliq111 was using the same shotgun with the same rolls in yesterday's stream. Interesting

The Wormwood I hate you.
TV can u pair the Kepri sting and incendiary throwing knife? Most fun thing i've tried with my gunslinger

I bet replenish is great now
great build
My favorite subclass to watch is definitely gunslinger
Great video TV! I may have missed it but did you show your armor/recovery/speed build? I'd be curious how you prioritize those three in this build. Thanks!
Gunslinger is why SirD got so popular, and sniping
+True Vanguard ace of spades feels so crispy right now am i right?

Gunslinger has been my main since you made that first video. Also, should I go for range or stability on Ace of Spades? I'm really used to using perfect balance, but I feel like I need to match the Eyasluna's range.
Do you prefer more stability or range for that Ace of Spades?
gunslinger is the best to watch!! especially if its your or holtzmann!! :)
hey tv, i noticed you were using combustion in this video instead of deadeye. a video you came out with a while ago suggested using deadeye i believe. any reason for the change? or just for funsies?
0:13 GET DOWN MR PRESIDENT
Do kneepads and Fleet footed stack???
Decided to use a sniper finally. I have to say I don't know why I never did before. I'm having some of my best games ever, it's so easy to snipe!
Dropping 5k/d + games all night sniping.
Without shotgun apes it's even easier now.
2:10 Fleet footed and kneepads don't stack.
Would you say destiny is more thumb skill or Gaming experience?Ive played almost every first person shooter and destiny is the only one who had pushed me to get better(Even when i am already good)...You seem VERY good at this game so whats your opinion?Thumb skill or experince?
PowerFully Low
Isn't it both? If you come from other shooters, you're bound to have more thumbskill than some other players.
PowerFully Low i would say you need thumb skill but you also need to have the experience
Muscle memory is what matters.
Texas Made Gratz on sub feature, ;)
Blade dancer used to have a high fun factor ;-;
And not a single kill was made by that hindsight AR lol, but at least it was something different.
TV! I use a 4-4-4 spread, is that good?
If you know how, you can very confidently walk into a tight space with golden gun
Try scavenger. You would really have a good equip build
What do you run for the Ace of Spades?
They TOUCHED my tripmines. YOU dont touch my trips!!! BAD touch!!!
TV is it possible to get those y1 queens weapons from the older PoE play lists at all?
you can still get all the Y1 PoE weapons, both the Queen's weapons and the blue, Fallen themed ones (Shadow of Veils, etc.)
Spiffy McTaco nice, I loved them all but only kept the Her Benevolence =P
What do you use on your ace of spades?
GGS TV!!! :)
Can you still get year one queens guns
Level 28 Prison of Elders
I'm still mad at myself for deleting my against all odds when ttk came out 😤
TV I got my first "We Ran Out Of medals".
I still don't understand what people mean by a 4 4 3 setup?
The Lair 4 intellect, 4 discipline, 3 strength
😂 still got my against all odds in the vault
TrueVanguard do you run max agility, armor, or recovery?
john weaver he run 3 Armor (4 with +1 Armor from Chest) 7 Recovery and 6 agility. 4 Armor for survive against tripmine.
i think high agility, 8 or 10, is better for outstrafe enemies in gunfight.
guardian.gg/en/profile/2/TrueVanguard/5
Why do people say gunslinger is not competetive imo its the best so many good passive traits especially for good primary usage
Asad Hussain nightstalker is better, that's why
I use both gunslinger and nightstalker but do main night but mailed gunslinger year 1 and some of year 2
lolzer 351 Tbh i hate nightstalker I never seem to do good with it
I mean it takes practice but gunslinger has potential
lolzer 351 Unfortunately Shadowshot is absolutely garbage super
Jmp Is probably the one who disliked the video for slide shotgun
but what is the build?
UES {:AY MORE GUNSLING
Heyy, I made it into the video (Ninth_Gear, 8:29). Still sad he didn't wave back :(
Ah yes the Los Angles lakers shot gun
TV can you play some nightstlaker please
Getting my ps4 today so I can finally play destiny again.
nice just got a ps4 Last month and destiny 3 weeks ago super fun but takes time to get used to special ammo neef
I think it might be interesting if they made throwing knives a one shot kill to the head, but to keep things balanced, all aim assist would be removed
Every time I watch him and his loadouts I copy him to have some fun but then I realize I can't use the antipodal hindsight like if u cri everytime😢
Hahaha that's the shotgun I'm using got knee pads too
Ayyy a destiny video
TV, this is random, but are you going to pick up Ghost Recon Wildlands?
Jonathan martinez I almost never get in solo fights, the other guy usually runs away or his teammates just bomb rush me.
Bungie should make a competing game mode where if you win and can get win streaks you can earn to reforge a weapon or add a intrinsic perk to a weapon but be careful of what that perk can be so the weapon doesn't become too op.
bladedancer or nothing
I guess you could say that the Tripmines have.....
Strange Angles.
