Oh wow Wade! Thank you so much for the kind words and thank you Karen and Noah. Great kids and hard core bushcrafters in their own rights hiking and hammock camping 8 months pregnant last month. Love you guys! Great to see you doing well Wade and in the woods again making breakfast. Man that is quite the knife you got their and I can't wait to see you put it to work some more in the future. Great video and thanks for taking us along with you!
Hi Randy, I was very happy to give the shoutout, you have an amazing family my friend!👍👍Thanks for supporting my channel, it's very much appreciated! Wade
W 0 W Wade ; That Gal Ain't No Joke ! Wonderful Brekky Samich Too ! Love That Cowboy Coffee ! Speaking of which I'm Due To Hit The Mill Creek Nature Trail in about 1 hr. Thanks Friend, Have A Swell Weekend. ATB T God Bless
Yep, that’s all you need here in the SE Texas where you don’t normally need a big fire to keep warm. For those of us that don’t use axe/hatchets that often it’s a lot easier to hit what your swinging at when you have that longer striking surface.🔪🔥👍👍
That was nice of you to shout out to Randy. Love the CHOPPA!!! I built one similar to that a few years back but it wasn't nearly as refined as yours. I gave mine away as a bday present but later missed it. That's a beast and an excellent chopper. Well made knife.
Hi Wade, this knife looks kind of a sword. "I have the power..." (remember Heman). I like it and its name is beatiful. I sat at my kitchentable watching this, had lunch. potatos and .. (dont know the english word for it...popeyes powerfood) i wished i had one of your burgers. As always good to see you Wade. Take care
Great to see you keeping well Wade 👍. Great looking knife mate. My next-door neighbor lent me a Wessex Blade chopper. He said take it out and use it....... until I found out it cost nearly £500, so I just looked at it lol. Great addition to your kit mate and I will look forward o seeing more of it. Take care and have a great week, all the best, Mark 😀👍.
Hey my good friend. Awesome to see you. Nice blade. So what steel and handle material. Looks like a nice Kevlar sheath. I really enjoyed watching and have a great day. Looking forward to the next one. Take care. Tennessee
That Kodiak is one big beautiful machine! I rock a BK9 myself, but if I didn't, that would be a contender! BTW, Spam and eggs with cheese is the breakfast of champions! Nice video dude!
Wade, I never figured you for a big knife guy. I bet your axes are going to get lonely😉. That is a truly beautiful knife. Looks like a competition model...and oh yeah...breakfast look great as well...I do miss the SPAM singles😂
Wow! Big choppa! Great to see you out making delicious breakfast sandwiches Wade! I like the knife.... interested to see what you think of it as time goes on!
Fried Spam is truly one of God's gifts to the world. That knife is really a beast. My largest knife is a Fallkniven A1X...about 6.5" blade but it's 7+mm thick blade stock with a wicked convex grind...as a chopper, it explodes things LOL. They are fun for sure but my tools of choice remain a 4"ish long, carbon fixed blade and my Council Tool WoodCraft Camp Carver Axe. Hope you're doing well Wade
91 comments so not sure if anyone made the Crocodile Dundee joke. If they didn't, assume I commented it here. Great vid Wade. Thing is a beast. Bring some ice for the coffee next time :)
Hey Wade🙂 wow that thing does it’s job pretty well. I like the handle is tilted back👍🏻 never did like spam. Used to love liver worst sandwiches though. Do they even make that stuff any more? Great to see you outside😀😀😀
Love the look of that knife. But I fear I would hate to shlepp it into the woods. That's what happened with my Skrama 😳. ATM I'm more the neck knife and mini hatchet carrying type. Thanks for the link to the designer's channel, I'll take a look!
Woodswalker 1965 The Skrama is very functional (as in 'ugly ').. Varusteleka are also selling a second, shorter & lighter (30% lighter) version now, but I need to unload (ha) the one I already own first. But since I now own a decent folding saw, the 'Spring Creek Tuff Folding Buck Saw', I don't need a big chopper (axe or blade) that much.
It’s SK85 steel, a excellent choice I think. I did a full review here. th-cam.com/video/gFVChRGCygE/w-d-xo.html Here is a link to the knife, www.worktuffgear.com/product-page/kodiak-sk85
@@Woodswalker1965 Let me.know.when you make.some.more,I know they are.razor sharp, I'd like.to get one with the firestarter flint like in the video, Just hit me.up,Thanks
@@SteveSmith-vg5ov I recommend the knife absolutely, I actually have two from Work Tuff. I don’t own or work for the company though. Just keep checking or get on a mailing list so they can let you know when they are available again.👍
Great knife but personally wound not use. The issue is when you "need" a survival knife it's when you don't expect it. Having a big knife like that probably aren't going to carry it very much. If it's a small hike or quick trip into the woods you are going to grab a smaller knife because it'd lighter and compact. The big knives get left at home often. The best is a 6" to 4.5". It can multitask better than a big knife and is easy to carry. The only upside to a big knife is chopping logs or splitting fire wood and you can just do that with an axe and it's better at it. A smaller knife can chop (smaller pieces) but can still do it and can cut and bushcraft better. If you are fighting an animal the big knife is better but otherwise not useful all in all.
