Lol, I had literally just said "ta daaaa" at the slight pause before you lifted the lid. I absolutely love the design of this and, if I didn't already have a 10th gen Kindle Basic that's still working fine, I'd grab one post haste, though for the same $150 you can get a Clara Colour so tough decision. I am, however, seriously considering the Go 7 Color
Nice review! Does anyone know how the Kindle app works on this device? I have heard that it struggles due to lack of RAM. But does it? Enquiring minds want to know... Thanks
@@26soldiers it works perfectly. I am using the kindle app on the boox go 6. I love this ereader for his weight, size and simplicity. I also use other reading apps and all works perfectly.
Thanks for the great first review. I am considering this and the PocketBook Verse Pro (even the colour version because prices I get are the same), which is a very nice ereader, with a similar experience on the reading app has boox. Does not have android, but as a reader, I don't need that to match my tab ultra. PocketBook app for boox works well and can sync reading and notes. Of course, native is better, but if I didn't have a boox already, I think PocketBook might be the better device for my type of user and cheaper with added moisture resistance IPx8. Would love to hear your thoughts about this comparison. My points in favour of Boox Go6 would be the new carta 1300, flush screen, control over refresh, storage. In favor of Verse Pro, IPx8, physical buttons, construction, price, and compatibility over all devices. Thank. Love your channel, love MDO and MMP (highly recommend)
It is android 12? On the website they say android 11 for boox go 6 and Boox Go 7 android 12. I found it so strange that it was 11, so happy to hear that is 12 :-) I agree with your conclusion on the autorotation.
I have the new Boox Go 6, and I’m sorry to say it shipped with Android 11, despite the original press releases and box specs listing Android 12. They have since update the website to show Android 11. 🫠
I'm thinking that-since it does not come with a Wacom layer-Boox doesn't allow you to access your Boox Notes that you may have created on another device that does allow for Notes creation?
Since it can't use Notes it doesn't even have a Notes section. But if you wanted to access your notes, you could install the Box Assistant app and access them that way, or simply go to push.boox.com on your browser (on the device) and get access to the notes that way. So no, there is not direct access to Notes, but the Android Play Store functionality still allows for different ways to access them.
When you do the review, can you please show the Google news app and also the Readwise Reader app? I’m interested in Boox but would like to see if those apps work well or if they are sluggish. Thanks for your awesome videos!
I use Feedly and it runs smoothly. You’ll can tweak settings per app to your liking to balance refresh and scrolling smoothness. There are a lot of presets and manual settings available.
A 1500mAh looks like it might be on the low side, given this is Android. Pocketbook Verse models with the same screen size use a more efficient Linux core (ie none of the Android overhead) with the same size battery. But OTOH if it is easy to charge up then it could be a non-issue.
Battery life on the Go 6 is solid. You can schedule when you want the device to power down, and you can also freeze apps from running in the background. I get a few weeks of battery life with light use and it charges up quickly.
Hi, do you know of any e-ink device that allows using one note via browser and doing so with good performance? I am obligated to not use the app on the device as of security settings. So l would need to log on via browser and use the web version of onenote. I guess an l pad could do the job but l am interested in an e-ink device. At the moment I have a supernote, but can't use it for that purpose.
What defines a "Go Series" product continues to elude us....

Looks good. I also heard that it comes with Android 11.
You are correct.
I've been waiting for your in-depth review of this device :)
The Boox Go 6 case is great and feels so good in your hands. I can’t believe how bad Amazon’s recent Kindle cases are in comparison.

How does Kobo reading look on this device?
Voja, would you ever consider reviewing a Chinese device like the Moaan W7, that is in a very affordable range of price?

Can you read it at night in dark? Does it have backlight?
Also could you test Moonreader app performance?
Yes you can read in the dark.
Thats why I love a ereader.
I own a boox go 6, so tested it.
Is there a similarly-sized device that supports note taking at a comparable price +/- 25% ?
I think your best bet would be kobo libra color (7'') or tab mini c (7.8") (But not at the price range you are hoping for)
This time no "no front Light for the first time in the world! Just like real paper!"? 😂
2GB RAM in 2024 is a really weird choice.
A Go without a pen but with a front light? That's on brand... lol.
@HelloLudger
It is an ereader. Ereaders do have frontlights. 🙄
Slow and sluggish, refresh rate is like waiting for Christmas lol, just buy a kobo or kindle.
