Same here. It’s my “if I could only have one knife” knife. 😀Probably not the best at anything, but good at everything. Strong and easy to sharpen in the field. A great choice for camping or survival.
Esthetically, the S1 looks better imo, but I’d have more confidence in the S1 Pro reliability wise with its thickness. I’m split between the S1s & the A1s, both are great & I’d always prefer to size down my equipment, but I can certainly see the larger A1 platform being an advantage in edge cases.
Thanks! I don’t have a standard S1, but do have an original A1 and an S1 Pro. I’m wondering now if I should have got the S1X instead, as perhaps the handle is slightly longer? I also have an NL4, which is the same blade length as the S1, and have a leather sheath for that, which I use for the S1 Pro, and prefer over the rattling plastic sheath that I received. Thanks for the side by side comparison, and would love to hear how the S1X compares to these. (?) I heard it’s 50 grams heavier, and has handle scales that are replaceable, and that some people think are more comfortable than the thermorun on the S1 Pro?

Clip point is sexy!! S1 is beautiful. Not into to shiny guard and drop point of the s1 pro.
