I love a true warrior whom only lover is the battlefield and the number of enemies you bury. Nothing not even a lover and or women comes first. He has earned his Name and place in the kingdom of Valhalla along his fellow warriors.
I like to think Malgus is what happens when someone who is disillusioned with a government and is truly capable of being a leader but not a political one goes out on their own. They get massive amounts of success to their own detriment sadly. Which also happened to malgus and somehow more than once even. Most often even in star wars when people get too much success they don't get second or third chances like malgus has gotten. The False Emperor is actually one of my favorite characters honestly from the game and from the old republic era. But not because of his battle genius or tactical or strategic skill, its more so his tragic telling of being such a brilliant leader but an underwhelming appreciation for it and just overall disappointing amount of trust or faith in his loyalty to the sith in general. Since I love erwin rommel in history so much this is probably why I love malgus as well, their stories almost mirror each other actually.
And in a way malgus is also like Julius Caesar to some degree. Stabbed in the back by those most closest or those who are terrified of his growing success.
1. Malgus is a born tactician, there are no barriers and restrictions for him. His ambition is legendary. He can work with both Trandoshans and Jedi if it helps carry out his plans. Malgus leaves the empire for one reason. After the death of the emperor Vitiate, Malgus tried to pretend to be emperor. Creating a stealth armada allowed him to subdue the empire. But he was declared a traitor. Malgus is not only a born tactician but also extremely smart and very powerfull. 2. Malgus has only one single goal and that is to become emperor. After the death of Empress Acina, Malgus remains the most powerful Sith alive. What exactly he is up to remains to be seen. Malgus actually follows the doctrine of Darth Revan and Darth Bane. After Valkorion's death. the empire is open to be taken. Many people don't know that he can perform 2 force skills simultaneously with each hand separately. This is very difficult to achieve, the reason being that he was born with this ability. Darth Bane is the other Sith who has done this. There is no recorded instance of a Jedi being able to do so.
Malgus is like vader, but without a lightside. It's almost as if his story is a what if, what if anakin acted more like himself as vader from an earlier era, what if the dark side completely consumed him. Had anakin taken the darkside in the clone wars era, he would have know obi wan wpuld try to use padme against him but he would have no feelings for her as he can not contain his hatered at such young age, he would have destroyed her much like malgus did, he would go rogue from any affilation and seek power in the dark side, with no lost limbs sidious would sense him no matter where he is and take him under his wing, from there anakin would be just like vader until learning about palpatine's true intentions and abandoning him as well with much more power than before. If palpatine would ever try to attack him anakin would grow so enraged he would not let loose even with a severed head. it doesn't matter, close one, friend, ally, enemy, anakin would attack if he sees it to be fit, he would ridicule the sith for only looking after power and not truly after just attacking and would ridicule the jedi for protecting. He would probably learn most sith abilities such as lightning and with a red one his destructive capability would skyrocket. He would just go on countless rampages and at the time of order 66 he would sense the death of the jedi and would go for palpatine when he's at what he thinks to be his safest era and would without doubt succeed at annihilating his former master and friend but he would only see it as another ant accidentally squashed and ignore the possible consequences, much like malgus does when he takes out a fellow sith
Malgus is absolutely one of my favorites. My only problem is people saying he craved absolute power, but leaving the empire wasn't going to achieve it. If he wanted to prove he was the best and most powerful, then he should have challenged Vitiate. But of course, he didn't. Because he knew he was completely outmatched. Vitiate would have destroyed him or, worse, used him to feed on his force energy for centuries. But I guess that just makes him smarter than other Siths. But as far as dueling and brute force strength, he was absolutely godly.
Malgus to me is the most under appreciation sith there is. The man was ruthless as you can be whit that lightsaber and had the attitude to back it up all the way. One of my favorites if not my favorite depending on the day.
I think dark Malgus maybe Bane are probably my two favorites only because of their similarities to Darth Vader and the code of which they represent of past and present and future representations of each other and what they fought for let alone their ideals that made them who they are if I had to say this is my own personal opinion but if I had to say everybody kept asking the question is Bane or Darth Malgus or Darth Vader which of the three is stronger than the other I think all three r equal in terms of power and skills and at the end of the day they are reflections of themselves so I don't think either three of them could overpower each other I think it would just be a battle to see who could Outlast each other not in a sense of killing each other but more in the sense of who had more energy to keep the fight going and looking at these three they all had this in common despite their weaknesses or disadvantages they all have something in common and that being the despite their lineage and the time where they originated from they would still be equals in my own opinion even though people might not see this as accurate this is my opinion
Malgus was like vader in many ways but more perfected. More brute force, more mobility, force lightning abilities and unchained (no masters to serve or keep him in check).
Vitiate was never a Darth, those in the Republic who may have referred to him as that were mistaken. Vitiate during the time of Marka Ragnos was Lord of Nathema but the title of Darth at this point in time had been largely abandoned and when he took the survivors after the Republics counterattack he declared himself Emperor and then reestablished the title Darth for his followers but never did he call himself Darth because he already was above that title as Emperor. He says as much in the game.
7:12 yeah, definitely, 1 of my favorite of all time after watching this video, very fascinating of his purpose what he believes in as a Sith or a warrior he called himself
Valerian was a Sith in name only . He was the most powerful being in the known galaxy , but he didn't use that power to conquer......... he made treaties instead. That made him weak .
Emperor Malgus was the second Dark Overlord of the True Sith Empire never forget that he did what had to be done he ranks with Vitiate and Darth Jadus he is a Sith hero as there are as many Sith philosophies as there are Sith
Malgus in my opinion, was among the best things that came out of SWTOR, his character was always intriguing, simple yet complex. A man just wanting the best for himself and his people, and not wanting it all to be some political game by those in charge. Putting themselves ahead of everyone else, sort of like Darth Marr. Always had respect for his character, you knew where you stood with him at all times, so long as you didn't act like an ass
you didnt really explain any reasons for personal hatred between vitiate and malgus though... Tactical/disagreement over the Sacking isn't usually enough for personal hatred.
What if dark malgus had died and reincarnated through the force as the chosen one as Anakin Skywalker and then thus became Darth Vader and I think that's why I like the characters Malgus and Darth Vader because of how they are so similar and why Palpatine designed the suit to resemble that of dark Malgus in the image of him and yet different in a way that separates him from Darth Vader what do you think I could be wrong but that's what I come to realize between these two great warriors or if you want to refer to them as Ultimate Warriors of Star Wars histories or Legends whether they be Canon or not canon to movies or not.
Malgus epitomizes the saying "in times of peace the warlike man attacks himself." (Quoting Nietzsche in a sith discussion? shocking). He had the will to go his own way and not get bogged down by orthodoxy to bureaucracy (which is why the Baneite sith respected him) but had he actually attained his ambition and started his own empire it would have quickly fizzled. All it would have been would be a conquest engine. Malgus lacked the philosophical or social mind to actually rule anything.
Thing with Malgus though is that he didn't suffer from the same constant internal conflict like Vader did. Vader despite his darkness and evil he did wasnt totally in the dark because Anakin side of him still was alive, Malgus did not suffer from that and soon as he discovers the weakness in hislover he removed it, intentionally unlike Anakin who did it accientally.
Malgus is definitely my favorite Sith, with Darth Revan coming in at a close second. I’m not going to lie, The Old Republic is definitely a lot more interesting and entertaining than The New Republic by far.
Wasn't Malgus Original born hundreds of years after Vitiate and Valkorion ? It looks like they changed the story and brought Malgus to life at the same time as Valkorion and his daughter and sons.
I don't know who my favorite Sith is anymore. Growing up it used to be Vader because of the movies and TV shows. But now from watching these videos and reading things online about legends like Darth Bane, Malgus, Revan, Nihilus, Emperor Vitiate and others. I don't know who my favorite one is anymore.
Malgus is one of the most powerful and deadly Sith Lords in my book. I am wearing or not wearing a mask cause it’s terrifying enough. And the upgrade said he now has make some more dangerous.
Out of all the people who were Sith at any time during the Old Republic, Malgus is third overall imo. Only behind Bane in second, and Revan in first. But regardless still an interesting and deep character.
Vitiate left the Sith too in fact the Sith was just another toybox for him he could care less, the real power lies in treating the force as a neutral power not going 100% light or dark, his philosophy and his Eternal Empire are matched by NONE to date in the SW universe PERIOD.
I believe that Malgus was a perfect example of what the Sith should have been, although I would like to point out that the Jedi of the Clone Wars era still viewed the Sith as vicious warriors that Malgus was. In a way, Malgus was a kind of smoke screen to the Jedi because they believed that Sith were gone when, in reality, they were reformed by Darth Bane and became the Rule of Two Sith.

Damn I always wanted to join his side. Had the right ideals. Makes me wish swtor was never a mmo because they won’t let you make those choices. Would have loved to joined him on Ilum bring a new age with his new empire and crush the weaker one.
A movie of Darth Bane or Malgus would be EPIC and one that Disney is too stupid to make! Instead we get a Skywalker storyline that has been beating into dust, and horrible characters that are completely pointless.
But somehow he still served the empire during the cold war. He is a mission informant/quest giver for many of the imperial Flashpoints in swtor. Or was that just to mask his true intentions?
The ancient Sith are like something created by the dork committee of Harry Potter, LOR with their magical amulets and spell casting with a bit of input from Trekkies who are just there because they hate Star Wars. We give so much respect and devotion to a group that got the bulk of their power from rituals and talismans and oh yeah had a much greater connection to the force due to the flow of the force at that time. Call me crazy but I have much more respect for those Jedi and Sith who gained their power through self cultivation and growing their own power from within. I'm also going to point out that if you took the most powerful Jedi of the modern era such as Master Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker just before his turn, Yoda, Mace Windu, and Count Dooku and transported them back to 4,000 BBY and took any ancient Sith and put them in the exact time spot those 5 Jedi would absolutely slaughter any ancient Sith lords you put up against them. This would be due to those Jedi from the modern era now having their connection to the force greatly enhanced. Now how about we take ancient Sith and moved them forward in time to fight modern Sith. Not only would their connection to the force be greatly diminished their Amulets and Talismans would not help them as in modern times the magic has worn off or those articles have been destroyed. We'd see someone like Vitiate have to rely on his light saber skills. Tulek Hord might be interesting but again he would be greatly weakened so all of his experience would not help him against someone like Dooku. Look at some of the ancient Sith with their staffs and magical medallions, I just don't get the appeal.

Malgus was a proto Vader that had his shit together all the way
I'd join Malgus. He's one of my favorite Sith
He’d kill you just to satisfy his past time
SWTOR Deceived pretty much covers what you need to know about Malgus and why he ultimately hated the Sith Empire
Malgus was powerful but he unfortunately betrayed me.
Definitely a new addition to my favorites list.
I like to think of Malgus with his popcorn ready waiting for an orbital bombardment that never came getting angrier and angrier lol
He was granted title of Darth Vitiate by Marka Ragnos himself when he was still Sith pureblood.
7:12 yeah, definitely, 1 of my favorite of all time after watching this video, very fascinating of his purpose what he believes in as a Sith or a warrior he called himself
Love the vids man
Along with Revan..Malgus sought to reshape the Sith order into a force to conquer the galaxy...the only way to true power was to take it...!👊💥
Yeah but revan was a traitor. He could havw ruled with vitiate but hw turned to the Light side
Any patriotic Sith who’s loyal to the Sith Empire should’ve hated the man known as Valkorian
I’d go so far as say anyone in existence as his plan was to absorb the universe
@@jeffreed671 yeah, that would’ve been terrible
@@macwelch8599 immortality costs lives , like the philosopher stone
@@Ktr-1142-ema agree
Valerian was a Sith in name only .
He was the most powerful being in the known galaxy , but he didn't use that power to conquer......... he made treaties instead.
That made him weak .
He is my favorite of all time straight ruthless with a warriors honor
Emperor Malgus was the second Dark Overlord of the True Sith Empire never forget that he did what had to be done he ranks with Vitiate and Darth Jadus he is a Sith hero as there are as many Sith philosophies as there are Sith
True malgus was a hero who wanted to save the true sith❤❤❤but they betrayed their ideology and even turned on vitiate😢😢😢
Darth Malgus was awesome. One of few truly deserving of the title Darth. He also looked awesome too.
It makes you wonder how Malgus would react to vitiate’s plans for the grand ritual.
Love all the sith lords. Brutal in their own ways
you didnt really explain any reasons for personal hatred between vitiate and malgus though... Tactical/disagreement over the Sacking isn't usually enough for personal hatred.
He did not hate vitiate. He hated his empire but He Admired vitiate and would have joined zakuul
We need more malgus cinematics
Malgus is definitely my favorite Sith, with Darth Revan coming in at a close second. I’m not going to lie, The Old Republic is definitely a lot more interesting and entertaining than The New Republic by far.
He’s awesome! I wish they’d make a movie with him but they’d probably blow it so maybe it’s better he lives in our imagination
@@Bagzerk 😂😂😂that’s fantastic
Wasn't Malgus Original born hundreds of years after Vitiate and Valkorion ? It looks like they changed the story and brought Malgus to life at the same time as Valkorion and his daughter and sons.
No bro he was Born into vitiates empire. The Sacking of coruscant was under vitiates order.
One of my favourite Sith Lords next to Revan
My favourite sith
I don't know who my favorite Sith is anymore. Growing up it used to be Vader because of the movies and TV shows. But now from watching these videos and reading things online about legends like Darth Bane, Malgus, Revan, Nihilus, Emperor Vitiate and others. I don't know who my favorite one is anymore.
Malgus is one of the most powerful and deadly Sith Lords in my book. I am wearing or not wearing a mask cause it’s terrifying enough. And the upgrade said he now has make some more dangerous.
Malgus represents what Sith truly were, power for the sake of power. There is no satiation.
Malgus and bane are my two favorite sith lords.
My top 3 favorite Sith Are, Darth Malgus, Darth Nihilus and Darth Traya.
I love anything that is Malgus. Not going to play. I would love for him to appear and get in a brawl with Rei Sywalker!
Out of all the people who were Sith at any time during the Old Republic, Malgus is third overall imo. Only behind Bane in second, and Revan in first. But regardless still an interesting and deep character.
Malgus is my favorite sith possibly even star wars character period
Darth Malgus is pure power.
In a way, Malgus was a kind of smoke screen to the Jedi because they believed that Sith were gone when, in reality, they were reformed by Darth Bane and became the Rule of Two Sith.
what everyone forgets is we killed him he is supposed to be dead they retconned him to life. As far as i am concerned he no longer exists
No you thought you killed him since false emperor had 2 or more different endings...can you say Sidious style 🤣
I have seen some of his lore my My question is I think hes alive in cbiogenic preservation somewhere cause Daniel or kill them he sort of escaped
Thank you
2:37 pretty horrifying in my opinion.
Which one would you choose Rule of Two or Sith Army?
He started hating him when he decided not to completely conquer the Republic after they had already been defeatedHe started hating him when he decided not to completely conquer the Republic after they had already been defeated, Deceived is a decent book
Malgus is easily 1 of my favorites.
Why not a video on Malicos??
What book is this from? I've read it but I can't remember.
The Old Republic:Deceived, I think
My top 3 SIth and Jedi in no order: Vader, Malgus and Starkiller
Darth Malgus is in my top 5 favorite characters in all of Star Wars.
You're truly bad when Malgus hates you.
Malgus is what Vader should’ve been
He would never be able to take out Emperor Vitiate let he try....
Amazing I like malgus bit more then darth Vader.
What did he do with his new empire?
i love malgus for the attack on corosont he was badass
Damn I always wanted to join his side. Had the right ideals. Makes me wish swtor was never a mmo because they won’t let you make those choices. Would have loved to joined him on Ilum bring a new age with his new empire and crush the weaker one.
Vader without sidious
"The Mega Doomer"
Ruthlessness = Malgus!!! My favorite
Malgus lived for war and conquest anything less was an insult.
It masked his true intentions I think part of those were for the empire and others of them served his own agenda
He was pretty badass
A Jedi killing someone so that person can know how it feels is NOT the Jedi way. Filthy Jedi!
Bane easily is mine!!!
A great warrior 👹
Lord malgus not Darth malgus one king at time
Why did the lightning strike not make him look like sidius
He’s my favorite
Technically his story still is not over since its being written in the game swtor
