I know I’m 3 years late but this is definitely the best high school tournament advice I’ve ever heard I’m a freshman in high school and started tournaments In 8th grade and my school didn’t have a team so I had to do what you did(start your own team) the only problem is that I’m the only one from my school that actually likes to fish and all my friends from other schools that fished was already on a different team so I “drafted” my sister but she doesn’t fish that much 😂 so I’m basically fishing by myself, but still thankful that she’ll do it but it’s worked out ok but still want to take it to the next level. @@TylersReelFishing I think we got some Junior teams but our fishing seasons up in canada are so varied, I think a big reason why it’s not as big is we got 20 different fishing regulation zones in my province alone so it makes things a bit complicated

After winning that first tournament, Stan Sloan retired from his job as a police officer in Nashville and started his own bait company. Zorro Bait Company. Sloan is also credited with moving the trolling from the back of the boat to the front for fishing. He also invented the first blacklight for fishing at night. Just sharing a little info on Stan Sloan. And you know. lol
The tournaments in Cali are so hard to find. I wish they would make the schedules more accessible. It doesn’t seem organized at all🤣 Great video btw! I haven’t seen a rundown of HS fishing like this before. Helps with a lot of stuff!

For Alabama you MUST have a trolling motor in high school tournaments. There is also a state law that requires you to have a boating license to operate a trolling motor in Alabama.
Here’s a couple trails you missed for Arkansas. Arkansas Bassmaster high school team trail, Arkansas youth fishing association, and Trader Bills high school team trail. Awesome video BTW! Glad you are helping the high school anglers out.

hey nice vid i saw different like leagues of highschool fishing like BASS and fishing.org or something but im probly gonna try to get in the BASS one but im gonna start a club at my school first but i dont have a boat what boat meets the requirements im not looking for a official crazy expensive one just one that meets criteria thanks.

Hey Jason! There shouldn’t be a limit on who gets to compete. High schools can send as many teams of 2 as they want to each tournament. You’ve just gotta pick a partner and find a boat driver. Shoot me a DM on Instagram if you have more questions

bass master high school has a denial letter which means that you can fish under bass masters insurance which is the main problem with creating a new team
TylersReelFishing ^if your school doesn’t want you fishing on their policy/insurance, bass masters will still let you fish their circuit under their policy/insurance so that you are still able to fish. I used this in my scenario in which i created a parish team
