Nice work on this @skeeb! Love how you described your experience with the Atrium with a wide range of music. The new Kendrick is sonically one of the best rap albums I’ve listened to. Listened to it with my Focal Clears and Audio-Gd 9. Can’t wait for you to finish your BHC and try the Atriums with it. ZMFs + OTLs is a magical combination.
Great video. I recently got the Atrium and love it. But your video begs the question, what is the best headphone you've ever heard? For me it's still Susvara but not sure i'd ever shell out enough to own one and power it properly.
Good review! If you looking for a warmer amp of sorts to add a little more low end punch, Check out Burson, Their Class-A amps are dope. The swappable Op-Amps inside are a pleasure.
They are both excellent. The Atrium is not as forward in the mids and better technicalities. I honestly have the Auteur Classic simply because I like the signature a tad more for my preference. However, I also have the Atrium Closed and love that HP!
I agree that High-Gain on Jotenheim is not a good sounding. To me it sounds grainy on High-Gain. Low gain sounds much smoother. Perhaps low gain is operating mostly in pure class A. On that note, Aune just came out with a brand new class A amp for $699 that is supposed to be a killer and sets a new standard for mid-fi equipment. It's the S17 Pro, fully discrete, fully balanced, twin-JFET with rich & mellow vacume tube-like signature, R2R volume control, 16 transistors turning out a max of 7.5 Watts, and a toroidal power supply. I'm looking to replace the Jotenheim with this unit one day.
What is the best sounding headphone you've heard? For me it's the Verite Closed. And it's definitely a hefty price. But you're buying from the best headphone company in the world, with incredible sound, with the best customer service by far, amazing warranty, and everything is easily fixed if something breaks. Also, another $600-$800 and you can get a limited edition set that are stunning works of art like no other headphone brand in the world. ZMF has set themselves apart from the rest of the market. No one is doing what they're doing. And with other flagships, like the LCD 5's or Utopias being priced as high as they are, with comically bad build quality and/or customer service (looking at you Focal), then ZMF's are unbelievable bargains.
The Atrium does pretty much all genres well enough as long as you can power it well. It is going to be lighter on bass however if that's a big factor for hip hop. It's a pretty neutral mid focused tuning (mostly) that pairs very well with tubes.
Gaming with the Atriums? I mean, sure you can make out with your girlfriend in the Sistine chapel but should you though? So glade to hear you got the Crack. I also built one and it is a fabulous OTL that will make you feel like Adam touching the finger of God in that Sistine Chapel your currently gaming in.
I just hit 100 subscribers the same day shooting this video! Big big thank you to everyone who has helped me achieve that!
Where is that forest I want to find my pair ! 🤣🤣 For now I own VC its superb closed back, love it so much. Next buy is reserved for Atrium 💎💎
Congrats on the Atrium purchase. I really enjoyed your review. Looking forward to hearing your impressions with the BHC.
Thank you! For sure I will update everyone on the BHC!

What an awesome looking studio setup. Your lighting is on point. Also your audio is full and clean. Nice work!
Thank you for that!

For me...a bit unfair, but the Abyss ab-1266 on a Lina stack. We're talking a 40k setup though.

Thanks for the recommendation!
How do you like the Atrium compared to the Auteur Classic?

Nice, thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to try it out sometime!

@@Skeeb23Oh wow, I'd love to hear that! I've never even seen a 1266 in person, and probably never will lol
Dope! That intro is familiar lol! I helped JV film a similar one ha!
Now I gotta go see lol, I guess great minds think alike ha!
Would you say this is a good headset for hip- hop and ragae ??

Did you end up completing your BHC? I have the Crackatwoa and absolutely love it.
I want a ZMF so bad…
Auteur Hybrid Pref? Thanks.
Are you asking if I tried the Auteur hybrid as in the suede? If so, no I did not get the opportunity to do that. Only the lambskin.
@@Skeeb23 thanks. I have the Auteur Hybrid Pref. Sounds amazing. Haven’t tried the lamb skin version yet.

I'll update everyone on the BHC pairing, lol great comment!
Always thought that was funny “here’s a very expensive headphone… bend it…”
I was nervous as hell to even try...till I watched Zach bending one on his video with ease. Super easy to do (and at times necessary)
@@Skeeb23 ya, I had to do my 6XX and was scared at first but much better now
