In case anyone is concerned, in the US, warranty void stickers are technically illegal and not enforceable grounds to refuse warranty service. They are used by companies to scare consumers into using first party repair services instead of third party, or independent, services.

In the US it will NOT void the warranty. The FTC ruled in 2018 that voiding warranties over a tamper seal “generally prohibited by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act”
Basically unless it can be proven your method of opening the device was the causal factor of any sort of damage, a company is not allowed to void your warranty over open a device.

I used to work for Altera (now Intel FPGA) early to late 2000's, back when FPGA was quite expensive and not a particularly well-known technology (very much non commercial) outside of the EE community. I'm really enjoying seeing it go mainstream, especially in the music synthesizer and retro gaming spheres. Make me nostalgic for those times, it's a fascinating technology that I really miss working with.

Looks like the 10 pin header under the battery is a jtag port, used to access the fpgas and config flash chips inside. They probably flash the production firmware and run diagnostics through it at the factory. Everything looks beautifully designed, may have to pick one up at some point.

What's the part number on the Cyclone V? I can't see it from the video.

It was really strange to receive a huge amount of contemporary youtube notifications of video reviews of this machine from so many youtubers I follow, the marketing campaign of this company must have been really massive, especially considering the crazy price for one (however much good) handheld for emulation.

@eskaycee The investment is massive precisely in proportion to the type of product and the potential of the company, given that many youtubers have released the video at the same time, it means that all of them have received the full sample and that being this very expensive it was a rather relevant investment.
Evidently the company has made arrangements with all these youtubers to release the video all the same day, in order to flood potential buyers (who therefore follow these thematic channels) with notifications.
Bottom line, can I advise you to count to 10 next time before telling strangers on the internet things like "are you out of your mind"? Especially when they haven't said anything offensive to you or anyone else. There was no need there is to express yourself that way.
      Thank you.

@eskaycee I tend to be verbose because I don't speak English well and I struggle to express concepts, but at least I'm careful not to use vulgarity with strangers, however there is nothing to add for me, bye.

It’s pretty common practice, actually. They sent out review units in advance, giving reviewers time to evaluate the device and prepare their reviews, all with a known and agreed-upon date for lifting the embargo. Mutually beneficial for everyone: the device gets a jolt of publicity, for the best chance at rising above the everyday noise and getting noticed; reviewers can do a deeper, less-hurried analysis and produce higher-quality reviews without risking being “late to the party”; and consumers have near-instant access to a variety of opinions and perspectives.
I’d say the outsized buzz is fueled by Analogue’s reputation for producing premium-quality devices that are extremely popular. For many of the reviewers, I’m sure it’s a nice change of pace being able to review a product they don’t expect will leave them disappointed.

@@LucaBlightOfHighland Analogue has pretty deep pockets, pun intended, for this marketing stunt because they cashed in all pre-orders during the first wave. They basically moved all stock before they even had a finished prototype in hand. And for what it's worth they knew they didn't meet demand on the first wave either with them still flying off the shelves again in the second order wave that started today.

Thanks for this. My Analogue was in storage for about 4 months, And it was charged. now I tried turning it on, battery is completely dead it shows a red exclamation point Next to the battery percentage. if you hook up the charger it doesn’t charge although it does turn on and functions. Email analogue support as it’s still on warranty, but if all else fails I’ll have to try replacing the battery myself some way.
