Thanks bro! I've tried to make double wishbone suspensions but they always have some sort of suspension glitch. You should checkout my other tutorials 😀
Thank you for the step by step suspension build process. I always thought 1 off road suspension was enough, but your design uses a lot which means I don't need to upgrade it so much
I've been trying to make more realistic off-road suspension, which I've been having a bit of a difficult time with, but I think I've figured it out. Because I do quite like in game things that look like they were recreated to some extent to how they look in real life. And this video is pretty helpful and informative!
I did make a detachable 5th wheel trailer before but it lagged super hard. Although if I welded it to a bearing that would have fixed it but made the trailer permanent. Google 5th wheel trailer for inspiration!
not sure if you have noticed it but since you have the suspension attached solidly to the body on both sides, there will be a suspension glitch when only one side is compressed. This is because the axle pulls on the suspension pieces trying to bend them inward.
this suspension system is great but the front suspensions are limited from being fully compressed which really triggers me. my fix was just to simply put the pipes around the suspension but still great nonetheless!
Yeah definitely needs more weight. In Survival I use concrete 1 at the very least, it makes it a ton more stable. I also use my 6x6 more frequently as it has better handling, climbing and load bearing potential.
Thanks for putting this together. I'm new to ask this so seeing a relatively simple bare bones suspension was really valuable to me, instead of these 2 hour type painted blah blah blah that's hard for me to follow. Liked and subscribed. Thanks again!

i've been looking for a suspension/steering setup like this have not got the chance to try it yet when i do im going to love it and it might be my preferred way to do suspension instead of double wishbone witch is a pain to do, i think i remeber i did something similar like this but was not as good as your
if suspension pieces allowed only for vertical movement your design wouldnt have any flex at all, though thanks to scrap mechanic physics the connection points are a bit floaty so there actualy is flex, but i would still recomend to put a bearing above on suspension piece, or if you want it symetrical like me put bearings above both of them and then lock them with a controler
If you place bearings on top you do not need anything at the bottom. Solid bar connecting suspension pieces works fine and is much simpler (2 suspension + 4/6 bearings for 2 wheels instead od that mess od bearings)
@@kacperk3242 on most vehicles it works fine but in a situation where you need a lot of flex(say a rock crawler) you will run into a problem because that movement isnt actualy allowed by the mechanism you're describing(its the same as bearings on the bottom but upside down)
@@jonaslavicka2411 The mechanism i described is a solid axle suspension It is often used for offroad vechiclec and trucks. For a rock crawler you should use some kind of an Independent suspension system
Did they fix this as I was doing the front suspension and where you put the straight pipes THROUGH the suspension springs I can't get that it prevents me from putting that section of pipe in. UPDATE: I did some curves around the suspension and it still turns just fine but back to the original question was the glitch fixed that allowed the pipe to pass through the suspension??
I believe you just have to look at the pipe piece right in order to place the pipe. The collision of the suspension will probably stop you from placing it otherwise. Hope this helps!
Yeah the double wishbone shit everyone seems to be building is super over-hyped. This is great, simple and probably performs better too from what I've seen.
This is not simple. Easier metod would be to place 2 bearings verticaly adding a block and a suspension at the bottom and simply connect them with a line of blocks
It is hard to articulate real world pivoting movements when the in game features joints that far exceed realistic boundaries. I simply had to improvise until the game didn't explode!
In the video it show the angle you need to be to "ghost" the pipe through the suspension. Pretty much have to be perpendicular "90⁰ angle" from the pipe direction.
simple suspension is good suspension.

it would be super cool if you could make a trailer for it that you can use in survival to carry big stuff
I did make a detachable 5th wheel trailer before but it lagged super hard. Although if I welded it to a bearing that would have fixed it but made the trailer permanent.
Google 5th wheel trailer for inspiration!
I was so lost on why you were using so many bearings on the front until you turned the wheels and it all made sense at once.
That's why I love real world engineering!
I've had gyro stabilized hovering jet craft, trial and error and logic.
Built this in survival but the body is concrete, works very well!
Yeah the weight helps balance it out and make it smoother
Supper cool, sorry I skipped through (ps4 dosen't have this game) I just wanted to see how well it preformed.
nice solid axle, well done
Thank slick! I hope it helps you tame the trails
I'm totally going to use this, but I'm going to add a little more room to the back for chests for looting trips.
Make yourself a trailer too! Gooseneck works good.

What material body you recommend? Diamond cut metal seems bit shaky
I used concrete for the body for more mass and greater stability.
