At 37:44 I think you could have Crewed using Overlord to protect it from Split Up. Never thought about it before, but a little extra utility from vehicles now that that card is around.
hello, good video, as always. At 19:39 circa you could have cast "deadly cover up" and try to remove every plains from their deck/hand to shrink the deck. They should had a plain in their graveyard as you can see at (16:55)
Holy bazinga, you made it! You actually played Valgavoth from hand by paying its cost! So it is possible! I dont know if you are the first one who did it, but definitely first one I have ever seen.
And we doubled down on it.. by playing Valgavoth from hand on every next turn too:D But yeah, this feat was probably not even in design team's bingo card for 2024 😂🤷♂️🦥
haha just ramp into valgavoth! I have all sorts of ramp decks including dinos and demons, angels and demons, demons and planeswalker orzhov, there are many ways to put valgavoth in and play it from hand. Some good ramp cards are Glimpse the Core, the harvest 3 mana card, herd or the discard big green creatures, and of course battle for zendikar is a house. cheers!
@@SlothMtg I built a really stupid historic deck, using elves as mana dorks and scute swarm with 30 lands that all count as either forest or Island, please tell me why I've won 7 games in a row up in mythic 😅 please make a standard video about this synergy! Love all the videos man, 🖤☦️
Oh man I'm enjoying standard again thanks to you!! I love how many wincons this deck has, it honestly took me a few days to get the hang of it as I'm so used to focusing on one or two instead of three or four!! More decks with multiple wincons for sure. Thank you!!
And I love to see this kind of comments :D This was the most fun golgari of new standard for me - and this concept can be taken into so many directions! ❤❤🦥
This deck is INSANE 🤯 I wanted to see a deck that actually can cast Valgavoth, not only reanimate him. I love the Conduit of Worlds too its an amazing card.
Yeah, been trying to use Conduit since forever, and this is probably the best deck for it - as we use both parts of the card:) And it's also a flavour win - conduit of worlds, summoning Elder Demon - hell yeah!🔥🔥🦥
Been playing hedge shredder in golgari ramp and it’s so good at dodging board wipes. Instead of all hope being lost I get to crew a 5/5 that ramps me as long as I have a creature in hand or a fountain/mirrex. Not a lot of artifact removal rn so I highly recommend.
Sloth what do you think of a lobotomy deck with Deadly Coverup, The End, and The Stone Brain? Ripping the Forge decks and the combo decks apart would be so satisfying. Edit: ok I wrote this before seeing you last opponent's deck !
Yeah, I read this and I was like hmmmm, did I confuse games or smth, I'm sure it was showcased today :D Well, you have got your answer after all 😂🤷♂️❤🦥
lol DON'T be that guy... decks designed around removing all the opponents cards are often weak, boring, and toxic. Trust me -, it is possible to replace removal cards with.......... VALUE cards :)
I thought this looked like fun, but I couldn't win a game in 10 hands. 3 matches against Boros Convoke - it's suddenly back after the ban. 4 matches against straight red. 2 match against the Djinn UW deck. 1 match against rabbits. I couldn't get a single match against the long game decks where this would be favored. Maybe at Mythic it's better.
Maybe try replacing Cache Grab with Seed of Hope? It gives a little less, but is cheaper, and the lifegain has more impact early game, where you need to stay afloat until you can stabilise. I need to run this deck myself for a few games to be sure, but it seems viable?
@@undahraadaundahraada5594 Honestly, I think that MTG, especially in G1 has devolved completely to 90% luck. They have taken the strategy out of it with all these reidiculously overpowered cards. Every deck draws tons of cards and every deck has ridiculous win-cons that must be answered or you lose. It's too much for a card game.
@@trixlee5102 BO1 is a fickle beast - having to pre-sideboard for the meta is a pain, but it's very rewarding when your deck pays off, and it allows some jankiness that wouldn't fly in BO3, because it would get hated out by splash damage. I prefer BO1 overall, which is why the Plague of Mountains in the format was so frustrating (for me).
@@undahraadaundahraada5594 I prefer playing BO1 simply because of the time factor. Other than that, it stinks completely in my book. In the current meta there is NO reason at all to play anything other than the top agro decks in BO1 unless you like wasting time leveling up. Nothing else is even in the ballpark of consistentcy, as demonstrated by the win rates on Untapped and I agree based on my own experience. All these big combo decks that require answers depend on luck to survive agro, so why bother. And, even though Wizards has tried coming up with all these flexible removal spells it doesn't seem to matter. If you run into a red deck and you have a hand to deal with ramp, you're toast. Perhaps the main issue is that they've killed traditional control in Bo1, which used to have some playability. That style of play is kind of dead at this point with every deck drawing so many cards, and so many ways to get around counterspells.
@@trixlee5102 Yes, I've noticed that with the rotation traditional competitive control is in a very poor state. A lot of that is the simultaneous disappearance of The Wandering Emperor and Memory Deluge. One leaving wouldn''t have been so bad, I imagine, but both at the same time hit hard. Add to that the number of cards that need to be in the deck to survive the first three turns, and you are heavily over-committed to that aspect, which hurts other matchups.

so THIS is the golgari demon deck i've heard about ;) great deck, and i appreciated your joy at picking apart the last persons hate deck lol, when will people learn that those decks are not actually that good and are just really boring to play or play against? cheers
More of the same and maybe you can introduce a 'tournament' between similar cards inside your deck. For example on a specific video 2x journeys to Omenpath and 2x hedger shredders would compete against each other for the best 'mana accelaration' four drop card. Anytime you are not sure which is best... "OK let's organize a tournament". Btw I still play your Golgari robbery pile from before rotation... losing Shigeki made it a lot weaker though. edit: Conduit of the Worlds seems to be worth trying although limited to permanents.
Idea was that we have many ways of bringing those lands, so we never have situation when we self-mill, but not get any value :) Also, analyst self mills 3 cards, so with shredder you still get lands from that instantly, also saving analyst for later. But maybe it can be switched for stronger mill effect or smth, as I mentioned in outro
Farewell definitely was very rough for all non-creature decks, I think it's probably healthier that there's no easy 1 card answer to everything :) Glad you liked it Bro!🖤💚🦥
At 37:44 I think you could have Crewed using Overlord to protect it from Split Up. Never thought about it before, but a little extra utility from vehicles now that that card is around.

This is such a big brain play, great catch man!
Yes but that would've killed shredder
@@pmangano Why? It was tapped.
