Macintosh Plus - Floral Shoppe [FULL VISUAL ALBUM]
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 5 ต.ค. 2024
- This video was designed as a distinct yet sincere and flattering take on Macintosh Plus's seminal 2011 album, Floral Shoppe. The visuals primarily consist of obscure 80s VHS rips, sampling content from summer vacations to early CGI demo reels to logos, shows, and channels from 80s and 90s TV. I combined the video with the Floral Shoppe album to create a retrofuturistic, faux-utopian, and borderline psychedelic vibe. I hope you enjoy it.

Untextured polygons are great. It's like unpainted statues.
YES
What exactly do you mean by untextured polygons?
They look textured to me...likely because of the way they're colored.
Also this is just my opinion, I DON'T mean it as you're wrong or I'm right.
(Previous edit didn't have "DON'T", so I fixed it. Sorry!)
@@MyDoubleJs indeed. "untextured" means having no fancy color patterns on their surfaces. just solid color polygons. plenty of the animations in this video had textures so i'm confused as well.
I personally get unsettled by these untextured polygons and figures, but absolutely love the pink, purple and blue cities and of course the music
The terrible quality makes it beautiful..

Who the hell dreams of organizing for the IRS?
Me.
lol
I organize for the SEC. found out you can get around Regulation T and leverage your investments using equity swaps
No, but I do dream of organizing people into the IRA.
Evil people.
I have no idea why these retro aesthetics (really overused word, I know) are so fascinating and mesmerizing. Looking at this CGI, pink and blue, space, skyscrapers, computers, deserts almost feels like a fever dream.
Great job on the video.
Exactly. The kind of dream you have when it's cold and rainy outside, you have a fever, and you take some medicines and smoke weed before sleeping.
it makes me feel uneasy and concerned
I call this "nostalgia mixed with LSD"

Early CG is fascinating and I don’t know why. There is something so captivating about primitive polygonal shapes that look vaguely human
I always find myself going back to this video. Always have for the past 5 or so years.
Right now I’m about to start my career. Economy is bad so it’s hard finding a job, very competitive. I’m also in a weird transitional period with my current relationship. They are about to go to grad school and I’m nervous. I don’t know if we will be together or what not in the future and it makes me sad.
But there’s one thing that’s for certain and it’s that I’ll always file back to this album and these visuals. Hopefully the next time I listen I’ll be in a better place in life.
best of luck with everything 🤍💖

As if Macintosh Plus's Floral Shoppe was not already an exciting experience, this amazing visual album just added a hell of a lot more to that experience. Truly, this album gives me the vibes behind the visuals successfully. AND you included the very good bonus track, a feat in itself. This has got to be one of the better videos I have seen in a little while. Thank you.
It also gave people like me a way to tolerate going through an entire album completely

For some reason, this video is just so mesmerising in such a beautiful way. It’s just so crazy, it’s something about the mixture of 80’s and 90’s TV, strange CGI demonstration monstrosities and real life footage of the neon lights and roadways of 1990’s Japan. It’s incredible and surreal.
This is a truly touching visual masterpiece and tribute to Macintosh Plus. Honestly, when I first saw this, I thought this was official music videos compiled together, and the soft analog-esque picture made me believe this was ripped from a real LaserDisc release.
I just took 3 tabs of acid for my first time and now this album will stay with me for the rest of my life

I wish I was born in the 80s or 90s, just so I can see all of these things as they were back then. I see so much, visually, and even though it fucks with my brain, I can't stop looking at it.

Nostalgic, but for a time you probably never experienced. The fake utopian aspect really shows. It's like travelling somewhere beautiful and being able to let go of your worries, but also never knowing if you'll ever really be alright. Still, the visuals make it a helluva lot better than the craptastic reality we are forced to live through. So this fictional world keeps people coming back for more. It's very symbolic or very meta.
To add to the symbolism, I could go into how: no matter how authentic the videos are (they're all from the 80s) the result will always be a product of modernity. Maybe that makes it slightly sad, but it's not something we can run from, so perhaps we should make the best of what we have. It's high quality, and makes me embrace my zoomer side (I'm a young millennial, at least grew up being told I was a millennial but now people think I'm a zoomer haha)
The リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ visual is about what I expected
The soundtrack of the pasts future. I wish there were other ways to put it into words...
Wasn't expecting "nobody here" to be in this.
same here
Jeez, this needs so much more attention.
It's fantastic!
I've been looking for this for 3 years and it's been here all this time
Thank you for uploading this masterpiece
Damn we have so much to learn about this video. People don't recognize just how deep it goes. Not only do its very visuals recreate the virtual plazas, the Auge-ian "non places" that modern capitalism creates through its constant deterritorialization of space in favor of creating consuming, consumable, easily-profitable "place", ie. the architecture and sci-fi futurisms which represent the apex of our modern trajectory towards capitalism, but it also recreates capitalism's modern ideological dissemination on the level of form, both in its conceit of being a program with "messages" and time-fragmentation like any modern complacency-sitcom as well as in its surprisingly naively simple thematic progression and associations between songs and visuals, which recreate in an accelerated exaggeration the ways in which capitalism makes us pretend to be children who can easily associate things with their referents, as opposed to the increasingly disembodied signifiers today, almost entirely severed from referential material content

Most people just see this as some funny or annoying meme, but when you actually listen you find out this album is an experience, one of them things that sound like you’re on a journey.
Jeez!! This takes me back to my childhood
The subtle music sync at times is amazing
OK, man i gotta say i LOVE this album. And for you to do this is purely genius. It is absolutely inspired so perfectly by the music. You took an aesthetic and riffed on it in so many different ways. I'm only 1/3 of the way in and so far i am amazed by your creativity. Like the music, the visuals continue to change and morph -- nothing gets too stuck in repetition. Except when it's appropriate, say at the 14:00 mark where it gets "stuck" with the music. Things are also humorous, like the shaving dude, and i have no idea where you culled all this from but you obviously spent a good deal of time on it and i think you should be proud of it. Going to watch more of it now...
very cool visuals!
Oh hey! Thanks for putting my visuals for a track (hand)

Best thing I have seen all month. Please do something that plays off of 80's theme songs like Mash, airhawk, silver spoon, etc. . .
There are so many different ways to experience this album, this one is my favorite.
Track 08 is an amazing experience 🥺
I appreciate this, great work.
I keep coming back to this video, I think it's a fascinating interpretation of this album. I appreciate all the new added stuff like the ads that aren't part of the original, and the little nod to Nobody Here, the little snippet at 18:15 from Atmospheres, it's a really great video to watch at 2am while 3d animating.
Track 12 goes hard
Album Score: 8/10
Visual Asthetics are epic, Tracks 2,3,4,5,6,8,&12 won me over my music satisfaction, with Chill Drivin' with ECCO becoming my new favorite, and Pico finished off the album quite well
Also, I wasn't expecting Key and Peele among the commercial clips, kept on giggling while my family was asleep
Great work for the artist herself, her songs make me fall in love with the artful culture she gave birth during the most troubling times of the second decade of the 21st century
Truly this was the best decade to have everyone listen to this, and if not, there's always the 30 year rules
