Most people just see this as some funny or annoying meme, but when you actually listen you find out this album is an experience, one of them things that sound like you’re on a journey.
I know we all talk about vaporwave making us feel nostalgic for a time of our lives that we never really lived or experienced but now when I listen to this album, I get genuinely nostalgic for 2015, the year that I was obsessed with vaporwave and listened to this album on my old little ipod nano almost every day. I was still in high school and was living some of the best and most fondly remembered moments of my life and didn't even know it :') so much more innocence and wonder for the world. When I listen to this, it nurtures my 'child self' and comforts me so much. Although I now realise how unsettling the music really is in nature. At the time I was just edgy and thought this was the shit. It still slaps, but it gives me an oddly unsettling feeling in this day and age, where an end and collapse in our conceivable civilisation feels even more possible and in fact inevitable than it did in 2015.... Maybe I just didn't see it, but I have a feeling even the nostalgic cynicism of the vaporwave pioneers could never really conceive of the world we live in today, and how relevant and perfect a soundtrack these albums would become to the crumbling comforts of the 'old world' in this year of 2021. 'There's nobody here' feels more like a ghost whisper of humanity into a post-mass extinction event than anybody's gleefully naive minds would have imagined in 2009.

Yeah the first song and that song sound like it's meant to resemble a broken computer still really cool the whole alblum is just so relaxing which is weird given how abstract and usually upbeat the original songs were

Sky Noveau was on Initiation Tape: Part One and was posted to vektroid's TH-cam channel, hidden pathway was also posted to her channel (and on texture maps), and lady was only on texture maps. I guess you could argue that hidden pathway and sky noveau count because they were on Acid Fuxx's fanmade floral shoppe 2 (which actually was officially licensed by Vektroid) and contained these unreleased tracks, but that means tracks like 飛行機AVIATION, WELCOME大きな家HOME, 弱点HEEL, ライブラリLIBRARY, and アメリカCONTINENTAL should be on this release. It's pretty confusing on what tracks should and shouldn't be considered floral shoppe. (Also, Lady sounds like something from ClearSkies idk).

Are there any folks here who lost their money buying the so-called vinyl edition of this album ? I don't remember the name of the label, but shame on them lol.
Probably dozens of different versions now. It's a landmark album that was pretty mysterious at the time, so it makes sense that alternate versions with extra tracks would circulate.
@@tiaflies If you like this, I recommend you check out some other early vaporwave artists such as Internet Club. I'm not sure how well-versed you are in the genre, but Vektroid (who created this album) and Internet Club are still making music almost 10 years later! Pretty incredible.

Alright, this is very good and I've been creating a playlist that regroups all of the songs that were sampled for this. Does anyone know what's behind Hidden Pathway ? It's the only one I'm missing to this day.
cant find a source on it but if i recall correctly, hidden pathway is an original track with no sample.

I had NO idea there was an hour-long version of this album. How many versions of this album are there?
Probably dozens of different versions now. It's a landmark album that was pretty mysterious at the time, so it makes sense that alternate versions with extra tracks would circulate.

@@tiaflies If you like this, I recommend you check out some other early vaporwave artists such as Internet Club. I'm not sure how well-versed you are in the genre, but Vektroid (who created this album) and Internet Club are still making music almost 10 years later! Pretty incredible.
