I just ordered my second, as a back up. I never know when companies are going to 86 something I think is wonderful. Those straps make it even more amazing.
I am a woman. I love lumbar packs, and I don't give a flyin' flip what anybody else thinks. They don't like it? They can carry my stuff for me. Mountainsmith has always made the best in this form factor. The original Spirit was the best backpack EVER. Something you wear shouldn't be "controversial" to anyone else.
I got the strappettes in a way they are not useful with the tour because if you are travelling on a bus or train you need to sit down whereas the single shoulder strap you can swing the bag around in your lap when you sit down 👍🇨🇦😎
Women despise them??? I think it's just the opposite. I'm a minimalist hiker and "lumbar packs" are my go to. They're by far the most comfortable. I'll do everything I can to avoid a traditional backpack because there's too much going on in the chest area; there's shoulder straps, and boobs, and where the hell does that sternum strap go? ...above the boobs? ...below the boobs? No way, lumbar packs are definitely the way to go!
If you want to do Mountainsmith packs justice, stop calling them "fanny packs." You wouldn't call an Osprey Aether a "knapsack," so why misuse a term when they should be called lumbar packs?

It looks like the Gregory Denali 100L only a little one. 👍

They look very cool but I feel women enough already I don't need help with that😊

Agreed!
