FFVII - Aerith speaks after her death
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 ก.ค. 2024
- Got a request on this the other day. This includes all of Aerith's spoken lines after her death, excluding the scene where you get Vincent, but the dialog there is the same as on all discs, so I decided to exclude it. Not much else to say about this, other than pointing out the fact that you obviously need a cheating device to make this happen.
0:00 - Great Glacier
0:42 - Fort Condor 1
1:08 - Fort Condor 2
1:26 - Rocket Town (She is invisible here for some reason)
2:46 - Fort Condor 3
2:53 - Gold Saucer Battle Arena

Aerith FF7 1997: "I'm sick of this."
Tifa FF7 Remake 2020: "I'm sick of this."
"I are sick"
Something about that gives me a bad omen for Tifa
I'M SICK OF ALL OF THIS!
@@JesterAl Don't even say shit like that...
@@lolstalgic9602 dont worry about it....those dumbass dementor ghosts will bring her back to life and destroy the meaning of death again. If they dont, just come with a bunch of pheonix downs...youll be fine.
I like how the most famous lines of Aeris both have the word "sick" in them.
kimochi warui
"this guy are sick"
i are sick of this
@@rew527 Tifa: I'm sick of this...
I'm sick of all of this!
Damn I love that line. The Original "I hate them all!". Was cool and all. But this new one are sick
This makes me think that Aeris's death came much later in the original script, but was changed at the last minute. Aeris is my favorite FF character of all time, but I think I would've been 10x more traumatized if she died halfway through the game or near the end cause I was already really attached to her as soon as I saw her lol. xD
Roloko Karlstein I don't know what death had impacted me hard, Quiet from MGSV of Aerith, I'm playing this game like 7 time been playing this since 5th grade
Big Boss Started playing it for the first time 3 months ago, I'm on disc 3 and I don't want it to end, theres so much stuff to do yet
I read somewhere that Aeris' death was inspired by one of the developers' family members dying. So yes, the story was changed at some point to kill off Aeris.
@@buckets9229 I didn't know it was ANY character but I know Barret was originally planned to be the death at the end of Disc 1 and they later expanded his part and used Aerith instead.
@@kennymclean1116 I read that when they selected who would be killed, the choice fell between barret or aerith, barret was too obvious and too cliched, therefore they picked aerith.
"Let's make this quick"
Wow, what a beast
Aerith is always a Devilish Girl. She captures your heart and then makes it her plaything. She's very flirty toward Cloud. Of course when Tifa's younger, she's also quite flirty to everyone.
@@OrinokawaMizuki what the hell
@@sammariofan The point is that Aeris was always confident, tomboyish, and flirty in the original game. It was that crap Advent Children movie that pretended Cloud was emo and Aeris was a pure-hearted innocent maiden.
@@manat31790 Fucking THIS. I liked her more over Tifa just because of that. Her flirty attitude was very endearing for me back in the day.
I love this little moment about the "bad joke" guy. It's like Cloud and Aerith stand to the side and are whispering to each other how unfunny the guy is while Cid has to suffer with the guy not letting it go. Shame it was not included in the game before her death. It's funny.
IIRC, every character that you bring there actually acts like that, whispering with Cloud while Cid suffers with that unfunny guy.
I was totally surprised when I saw this scene for the first time. I miss my Game shark
i imagine each party member has a set of generic lines they say in a given set of circumstances. So the games code is probably just telling party member 2 to say something from it's list of dialogue.
You're expecting a really complex AI system? It's not like that. They actually have their lines added bit-by-bit, event-by-event, flag-by-flag.
It seems odd to know this and the fact that Aerith was planned to die early in development, but game development is a tricky matter, so a ton, perhaps all, of the dialogue was written without any foreknowledge of when the death would occur. It's possible that some dialogue might have been coded in after the established point of her death for two reasons: 1) The writers knew that a last-minute change in the schedule could occur and didn't want to have to rush to finish, and B) they didn't want your game to crash in case a glitch caused you to keep Aerith.
ivaldi13 But what he suggested wasn't complex at all... In fact his statement is right...
While programing the game they had plans to kill someone off. They just didn't know who let. After picking Aeris/Aerith they removed weapons and dialogue of hers after her death. They just forgot some of it. Infact Yuffie and Cid both have unused dialogue
I have always assumed that game developers "prepare" something for every instance, just to be more flexible.
Another example of this is "GoldenEye 007" for the N64, where all stages (except Surface #1, for some reason) have their corresponding "action themes" or "X themes", but a lot of them are never used (like for example "Dam X", "Runway X", "Frigate X" and "Statue X", among several others).
They probably wrote all of them anyway, so that they could decide which tracks that they wanted to keep.
The question is does she say the same thing as a different charater? If so then it's just generic dialogue. If not then it's probably cut content.
Damn, all these years, and I had never seen the conversation at 1:26 XD I'll keep it in mind for my next playthrough, thanks for the video Garland :)
I love the music buried in the snow
Nice collection, thanks for postin' G
Recently I've started playing Kingdom Hearts everytime I see Aerith I'm happy and sad knowing her fate if only you could do something but it's her destiny.
I mean THAT Aerith doesn't die
FUNNY YOU SHOULD SAY THAT!!! so yea bout Destiny.... we killed it at the end of Remake so... whats gonna happen now?
Maybe there WAS a quest to revive Aerith or she never died in the first place.
ChocoboDood2014 No, she was always supposed to be dead, this is all generic text.
Tarsier Oh...Well thanks.
Tarsier I don't think so. If this line is never spoken in the game other than this specific scene, why would the developers add it in? And, sorry if I'm wrong, but isn't this kinda far in Disc 2?
*****
No, I mean that everyone has the same line from what I remember.
Tarsier I honestly believe Aeris was supposed to stay alive for more time.
Also, I don't remember any line "I'm sick of this" from any other character.
@Jago7159 No. Some speculate the reason these places are in here because Aeris wasn't supposed to die at the end of Disc 1, but rather the start on Disc 2, during the reunion scene. There is some evidence to support this, but 500 characters is not near enough to explain it adequately xD But yeah, for the most part, stuff that can only take place after the reunion scene on Gaea's Cliff will not have any Aeris Specific dialogue.
Tifa says this multiple times in the remake. I wonder if it's intentional or just a coincidence...
Pretty sure it's a coincidence. "I'm sick of this." isn't exactly a catchphrase.
@@vigo2669 Also in OG it was "I hate them all" first it was at the reactor in Nibelheim. And then in the Junon Ship while she's wearing a Shinra Uniform. I wonder if they'll keep that line in Rebirth or they'll cut it because she said at the start of the Airbuster fight. Speaking of. What was that line that Cloud was visioning? "It was just like... Like when I failed you" what's that mean?
when red 13 said he has snow in his ears... i really felt it
I just don't see why, since she's an Ancient and maintains consciousness in the Lifestream, that she couldn't simply rematerialize her body and hop in like Sephiroth did. My poor, poor Aeris!
'cuz the dev's mother died, so y'know, tragedy was necessary.
I just really feel like Aerith wouldn't. She's one of the ancients, she wouldn't go against/upset the Lifestream like that. She's probably better off in the Lifestream as well. Although yeah I'm still disappointed :'(
TonyBMan She doesn't have the powers of Jenova available to her like Sephiroth does, is supposed to be the reason I think.
The real reason is that the primary writer of the FFVII storyline lost his mother during the making of the script, and wanted something to pull both the sadness of loss and the anger of, "WHY are you gone!?," all into one. He wanted there to be hope, he WISHED there was hope, but he knew it was over. Hence the entire scene with Sephiroth's callousness, Cloud's inability to accept this single death, and the fact that, no matter what you wish or believe, she just ain't comin' back.
+TonyBMan Well both in this game and in Advent Children she manifests herself in a visible way. Although I wonder why they didn't do much with it in the original
If i remember correctly, devs said that Aerith was always meant to die, it was decided super early in production.
This dialog probably only could have existed if the change was very last minute, and if it was, then it would have impacted too big of a part of the story for that to really be plausible.
My theory is either A- Square originally wanted some way to bring Aerith back. Maybe it would have been a quest line, or even a new game plus mode where you could play the whole game with Aerith. NG+ wasn't very common back then, but Chrono Trigger had it way back in 1995, so who knows?
Or B- This is just place holder dialog of some sort. After all, the dialog seems pretty generic and not very unique to Aerith's personality.
Im guessing it probably is just place holder dialog, considering bringing Aerith back kinda just shits all over the plot.
She could've just been intended to die later on in the story
It's also possible that these sequences were meant to be played earlier in the game, but rearranged to be later.
The devs said something along the lines of that Aerith was an *option* for a character to die, and they at some point finally decided on her.
(Something about your most valued party member dying?...)
I've seen this info from tv tropes so idk if it's trustworthy or not. So basically Aerith was originally planned to die in the disc 3 during the confrontation against sephiroth. However, they changed it to the end of disc 1 so that her death will be more shocking.
I remember watching somewhere that any characters from disc 1 will die , if they were favorable , loved , cared , used a lot (u get the idea). They cancelled it at half of the production , but my theory is they kept some dialog if Aerith survived , but forgot to removed it , also in the debug menu there is some slight hint to this mechanic.
So was it the case of Aerith dying much later, her dying differently, or certain areas you were able to originally visit BEFORE the sequence of her death that housed unused dialogue? I'm honestly thinking the latter here.
The fact they have secret dialogue just proves she was meant to be alive longer or not die at all!
Nah, this was actually to avoid a situation like what happened in the video. Sephiroth and Young Cloud also have dialogue after they're supposed to be in the party.
Garland! I havnt seen you in so long!
The Fort Condor 3 and Battle Arena ones can be done on disc 1 before her death.
Yep
@Uratnik Ah, thanks for the explanation.
How is Cloud not creeped out by her standing there talking after she died 'Holy #### its a ghost' Rest in peace the best FF7 charecter shame she cant be brought back :(
she can be brought back. on the steam version you can use the yuffie glitch trick to have aerith in your party. search for it on youtube ^^.
Mark Thompson Her death was completely necessary. If she didn’t die everyone else would.
@ryancouture There's still snow outside. Won't touch the speed run before that's gone.
The game crashes if she pops out when she has no dialog.
@mariosonicfan2010 It's GP actually, because it's the battle arena, but close enough.
@XordHacker Same here, would like to know too!
Also, isn't the line spoken in the bedroom of Fort Condor the same as in Disc 1? I think I remember it
Parallel universe…
Crazy.
lol cid punts that dude
@GarlandTheGreat thumbs up man, awesome metal bands.
@SephirothWins1 I've wondered the same thing about text in the Debug Room, obviously by the time it was ready to be translated the need for a debug room was long past, yet if you hack your way in, it's mostly English...
FF VII Remake brought me here
did anyone notice how at the end of the video Garland had 666 Gil?
bring her to Gast's house, (her dad's house in icicle in)
probably nothing, but i always felt nostalgia for it
If I remember correctly I believe there is another see when you put the Keystone and she’s there and she talks as
it not as bad as watching her die again in HD. rip
Well they did say that they may re-write and change parts to keep it fresh? Who knows, it might be Tifa or a few other characters might bite the dust?
@@craig291086 that would ruin the plot if they decide to kill someone else off instead of Aerith
craig mccauley if tifa dies, I’m throwing the fucking game out the window. You telling me I saw Aerith die now I’m watching tifa die? Fuck that shit, sticking to the original. I didn’t use Aerith much but fucking I don’t want my members to die and when she did go, it felt like a hole that couldn’t be filled. Having another hole is too much
@InsightOnVideogames yes, it is the same
Okay. The Cid 'punny scene' seems to indicate that Aerith's indeed meant to be there, because even with a cheat, her 3D model couldn't appear at all. As if the game specifically asked for Aerith or another Third Party member, but was ordered on not.
ARIES DIES??????
YewTo0b yes almost everyone knows
Like a bitch
Libra dies
who is aries
Problem? Their first two albums are pretty good, but I can't say I care much about the later stuff.
@TheGoodWillSpreader Both.
I can’t just keep healing people!
Which rumor mill might win out, that or the Rinoa/Ultimecia rumor?
Shes dead so she broke the 4th wall and said press square
Sucks they live in a world where Phoenix Downs and Phoenix exists, but cant even cast cure on a stab wound.
Best
Cloud: aeris you go fight
Aeris: okay
The girl on the battle arena counter: 👁👄👁
@YewTo0b obviously she lives
2:57 666 gil...
ROFL "A fearful sense of humor"
@mariosonicfan2010 That's because I'm METAL.
actually if you watch the aeris scene you can still see aeris in it she won't say anything but it's amusing just to see aeris watch herself die and the white materia fall off
I'm talking about when you visit the anchients waterfall thing with bugenhagen on disc 3
+Mike Wehr 2*
lol 666 gp
How did you cheat and make it so she lived v>+x during the temple of the ancients jump scene sequence?
I didn't cheat one time and when you get to the center place with the tent in the middle of the lake, the game glitches out. The game is still fine, only past 99,999+ Gil, there is a game configuration glitched "L" shape when I load up a game.
Huh, I almost have the perfect setup, but I got to stay in the Northern Crater and get 9 more final attacks and 7 more Knights of Round before going to fight Ruby and Emerald Weapon's, but I still got to use Yuffie to create source's of power, speed, luck, etc all to 255 for every character doing it honest. Last time I tried that in the Crashed Genkia sunken flying ship, I got owned by some kind of Weapon Monster that randomly appears down there, so this time, I am going to be prepared with a full setup before going down there for resource gathering before facing all weapons and debunking all myths of the game with Chocobo Mating.
They say "supposedly" you can make a white gold chocobo that will go in space, but I think it is a bunch of bull shit. Still it would be cool to try anyway.
As for my setup:
Best Weapon.
1: W-Magic-Master Magic.
2: Alexander-Elemental.
3: W-Item-Master Command.
4: W-Summon-Master Summon.
Wizard Braclet Armor.
1: Pheonix-Final Attack or 2 v
2: Knights of Round-Final Attack or 1 ^
3: 4x Cut-Added Cut.
4: Counter Attack-Long Range.
Ribbon.
It is going to take me seperated random 48 hours divided to get the perfect setup for everyone.
2:56 ha!
Hilarious. Does she say anything if you take her with you for the final battle VS Sephiroth? Lol
And then she dies in the arena
Got it
@GarlandTheGreat dragonforce or judas priest?
Cloud Save her this time!
@TheGoodWillSpreader
Because those are the only two metal bands...
So this is Aeris's ghost shown here? i remember this scene.
Rocket Town: Aerith is invisible yet she still speaks and this is after she dies..... OH SHIT IT’S THE GHOST OF AERITH!!!
I've never even seen the scene at 1:34, how is this triggered?
name of track that plays when the guy is cracking jokes?
What did the lines say in the original Japanese?
Lol 666 gp.
Must be a handful of out takes
Like I have said before it is possible to raise aeris not unless they removed it. Basically were she died you have to find a way to make the water flow or something then after touch various spots in the world then get the box with text !!!!. Then she will appear in the church with water coming out of the garden if you do it in time she joins up with your group. I have only done it once on the original pc version when it first came out only that one time after patches it seems to never work or something. Or I am doing something in the wrong order.
Lies.
Should've kilt off Yuffie instead of Aerith. Her dying out would be her first unselfish gesture
Geils Sila killing off Yuffie wouldn’t be a good idea because she is a secret character and doesn’t have a big impact on the story
I'm not saying Cloud has schizophrenia... but _maybe_ Cloud has schizophrenia.
So these lines were found in the game files?
I don't recall Aries ever being brought back to life in the original.
I have the Black label but there's no way to bring her back is this some kind of modded game?
They cheated her back in with some kind of cheat engine probably, probably black chocobo or something, similar to a gameshark.
@@jamesfitzgerald8267 oh yeah the infamous game shark I almost completely forgot about that, that makes a lot more sense
Makes me wonder why they took time to translate her lines from japanese to english here when they knew she was dead...I can kinda understand why it was in the Japanese version in case the developers moved her death or something.
How do I get Aerith back to life right after Sephiroth kills her?
How did you end up playing with aeris the whole game ?
It's a hack.
How do you bring Aerith back to the party after Sephiroth kills her?
game shark
Oh my gosh! Foist!
How do you bring Aerith back to life right after Sephiroth kills her?
Game shark or cheat engine for PC
For those who don't know these lines are a fail safe Aerith was planned to die after they decided that Barret dying was to cliche which was pretty early on in development I assume
how the fuck aren't you partnered yet
The real reason Aerith dies... is because in terms of gameplay in FF7, you have a lot of characters, and learning all of their limit breaks is very tedius as it is. She also is not much of a fighter, unlike the others, she is an obious mage, but that breaks the meta of FF7 where everyone is a fighter, first and foremost.
Caith Sith is not a fighter either
Cloud accidentally drowns Aeris in the lake, she was actually alive before, check her reaction after the sword goes through her.. her eyes.. they close virtually straight away.. and it DID NOT go through her heart.. she didn't die straight away, but in shock etc Cloud sadly killed her. Truth.
"Aerith"?
Her name literally says "Aeris". It's literally in the screen grab.
Aeris is a mistranslation. Her official name in any other game she appears in is Aerith
@@Troy_The_Boi Right, but her name is the original game is Aeris. I know it wasn't meant to be Aeris, but it was Aeris originally. And in the video here, she's called Aeris.
@@lostfan5054 She's actually called "Aerith" in the original game's code too, it's just for some reason the default name for when you name her was changed to Aeris, in fact, if you do a glitch to skip the part where you name her she actually joins your party named as "Aerith."
Here is a funny for you I remember playing the game once and found some kind if thing under the ice followed it. Then discovered aerith was in the lake and almost drowned at least that is what she said.
what?
Have you ever tried this before? /watch?NR=1&v=oPf6xttVsFU
Dragonfarce? Really? Good sir, I am disappoint.
Ladies and gents, Aeris death is non canon.
It's an over drawn drama, where Square soft/ Square Enix was sick of it with fanon.
I don't like this.. all this mysterious ways to force Aeris' character to live again. Like in real life: She is dead and deal with it!
Remember Bobby Ewing?
It's a video game, chill out.
