    There is a foam wedge in the lid to put on the aircraft to protect the sensors & strobe if you are going to place the aircraft down without its landing gear.
    It’s inverted in the box to allow you to attach the landing gear before removing from the box.
    There is a simple instruction sticker on one arm telling you the best way to unfold the props & arms.
    Preflight checks are meant to be carried out before each flight, not just the first flight of the day. Not to mention postflight checks...
    I actually like the DJI case as you get items in & out without having to move another item first eg overlapping as we had in the M210rtk case. We carry our batteries in the charging station rather than cramming everything into one case, thus making it quite heavy (yes I know the station case is heavy, but it’s fairly compact & easy to handle).
    A very informative video non the less.

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the foam you are referring to is the service cradle. There are better ways to unfold the aircraft than what the sticker shows. The H20T moves around inside the case too much for our liking and if you have to travel with it there is no air pressure valve thus if you have to check it on a plane the case can get sucked inward. We seen this a number of times reported. We will not sell a Matrice 300 to a customer that will not use the Go Professional case. You also can not carry the batteries in the charging station. There is too much tolerance and clearance between the charger port and the battery and they will move around. They need to be treated like EGGS. Also they are very heavy and you would be putting a lot of stress on the battery connector that they plug into as well as the surface mount board and solder connectors.

    • @RaptorFlyer3D
      @RaptorFlyer3D 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteelCityDrones very interesting - my H20T sits as yours does and is really snug. If I swap for one of our smaller H20’s, that sits lens right-most with the connector left-most, over the top of the camera block (hope that makes sense?). Also my case has the air valve right by the main carry handle.
      Regarding the battery stations - when the lid is open there is about 2-3mm lateral movement of a battery plugged in, yet lid closed the padding in the lid ensures no battery movement at all.
      I wonder if DJI have since revised the case designs? I took delivery of our fleet (6x) last week so fairly new stock.
      On a side note have you or any customers had any RTK connection issues?

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RaptorFlyer3D We have purchased new M300's since they came out for customers and have not seen any differences between the ones first built and now. We strongly recommend not using the battery case to transport as the weight alone will put a ton of stress on the connector and master connector board. As for RTK, there can be a lot of issues if its not setup or configured correctly. It also depends if you are using the DRTK2 base station or NTRIP.

    My only complaint so far is the abrupt stopping it does. Speed picks up with little stick movement and almost dead center stick to decrease from 30mph to 15mph then all of a sudden it slams on brakes because I hit dead center. Can’t seem to find exp. settings like on other crafts. Even if you fly at 5mph and let stick slap dead center, it aggressively stops far more than I like, it’s a large craft moving pretty quick.

      If you are used a full size remote like Matrice 200, Phantom and inspire it takes a little bit to get used to. The responses are a bit different. I hope they develop a larger remote with a larger monitor as an option to those that don't like the smart Controller. I think smart controller is fine for Mavic 2 but not for Matrice.

Would be very interesting to see the resolution difference in photogrammetric maps/scans between Mavic 2 pro 1" sensor, an X5S, X7, and maybe the H20(+T) or new P1 sensor. Would also be very useful to compare software with the shots (DroneDeploy, Pix4D, ARCGis collector, etc.). Sometimes the native camera resolution is reduced by the software (stitching, mapping, etc.) during processing.

Also the batteries will discharge themselves. Very nice review. I haven't seen it printed, but it appears the H20T thermal component is not FLIR. DJI states FLIR tools won't open the images, you use their tool. So the camera produces radiometric JPEG, but not in "FLIR" format. This means third party apps like Pix4D and Drone Deploy won't operate with the images until DJI shares the format and their tools are updated. Not sure if there is any guarantee this will occur. You could work around this by using an XT2 with the M300. You would need to use the PILOT app for the capture and then process the XT2 images as you would have with the M200/210. There are a couple of "live" features with Drone Deploy you wouldn't be able to use until the M300 is a "support drone". I don't have the M300 or H20T so this is just from reading specs, but if true it would degrade thermal work flow until some of these apps are able to fully support (or you need an XT2 with or instead of the H20T). None of this affects real-time thermal use, only the production of maps (which is a nice ability but not a useful as mapping products). I would need to spend time with DJI's tool to see if it is sufficient for processing single images for reports. Guessing none of this impacts the visual cameras, but they wouldn't be as good as the X5S or X7 for higher resolution maps.

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aerial Insights, thanks! Yes to clarify, this is not a FLIR camera and thus features like are not there. Until another camera is developed this drone is not for mapping so you don't have to worry about many 3rd party apps but the smart controller does support 3rd apps unlike Crystal Sky. Hope this helps.

    • @aerialinsights93
      @aerialinsights93 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteelCityDrones If DJI wants to take market share from the 3rd party guys I could see them just not sharing the image format and keeping it proprietary. I have no idea about their intent, just something to note for anyone working in thermal. Screen shots of the thermal images off youtube look good, so the imager may be the equivalent of FLIR. I haven't seen that many images of lots of different subjects, so I have no comment there.

    What a great video! Just a question: Is there a proper camera on the bottom of M300? If yes, can we access it through the app? To apply algorithms to find targets to land, a camera looking bottom is required, so here is the point: Should I buy a camera to do it (H20, P1 maybe), or just the onboard system is enough to do such action?

    Please explain one thing. In your comparision about H20T with XT2 13mm 640 and XT2 19mm 640 there is a note that smaller pixel pitch indicates higher pixel density and higher resolution and ok I can agree but in this specific situation resolution of all cameras are the same, so smaller pixel pitch indicate that H20T have smaller sensor, not better I would even say worse ... but probably the lens of this camera and maybe quality of the sensor is so much better that H20T wins the picture quality comparision. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No we did not test all cameras of the same resolution. We also tested the Zenmuse XT2 336 resolution camera. The higher pixel density means that this 13mm lens appears to be more like a 19mm on XT2 with everything being the same. And the image on H20T is cleaner than XT2 because of the better processing and chip set.

    what's the maximum distance that the H20 can be to give similarly crisp result at say 200x Zoom

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The definition of CRISP is completely personal perspective. The main factors to take into consideration are how big is your focal subject and how much resolution do you need? If you want crystal clear results you would want to stay with Optical zoom at 23X which require the drone to be closer to the focal subject. We feel you can achieve very good results up to 80X zoom as demonstrated in our video. The further you zoom in the it will get pixelated. We demonstrated the difference in level of pixelization between cameras. The H20T camera is much less pixelated but at 200X it will not be crisp. As far as maximum distance to achieve good results that is entirely up to how small of a focal range you need to see. The results we did in our video were zooming in on a cell tower at 1500 feet away. In our opinion we could easily get very clear results of very small detailed objects on the cell tower if we were 750 feet away. Now lets say you need the highest level of detail. Let's say you needed to see how much rust is in a fastener that's 3 inches in diameter than you would need to be about 100 feet away at 23X optical zoom.

      DJI Enterprise dealers are not allowed to post pricing publically not matter what the item or the cost. That even goes true for a small value aircraft battery.

    GREAT REVIEW and Update! Too bad DJI lied about the flight times... TOTAL BS
    LOVE: the Hot swop, the new camera H20T, the SW, the Tracking and Photo GRID, and many more things.
    What I did not like was that it is not good for MAPPING and has only true 30 min flight time. Makes it WAY NOT GOOD FOR MAPPING! RTK and Mapping go Hand in Hand.

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is possible to get up to 37 minutes at sea level with the H20T. In regards to your mapping observation, I think DJI is trying to make aircraft for specific applications. The Phantom 4 RTK is a mapping drone that doesn't do anything else. The M300 is for Public safety and inspection applications. That's the direction DJI is going.

      I’ve gotten 41mins when going down to 7% power, I was also flying at 2700’AMSL going 25mph. If you are hovering or stopping and going then it isn’t possible. So 2 mins off from what they say,43mins.

    One thing i need to know is that when m300 rtk fly in autonomous mission like mapping or route can this thing avoid obstacle autonomously?

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't rely on obstacle avoidance as it can't detect thin cables, power lines etc.

    But can someone explain to me, why is the price for such things so secret?! Ok, I understand that price is changing from use-case to use-case but for sure you can add some approximation or some range of prices?
    Why today is everything - for price please send me a message to inbox?

      Hello DJI does not allow Enterprise dealers to publish pricing. That is not our own rule but we do have to abide by what DJI allows. If you go to any DJI dealer's website you will see that nobody publishes pricing for these reasons.

      Yes we noticed that after editing but to meet our deadlines and client training schedules we had to go without it. The Aircraft gets a bump up to IP45 rating from the Matrice 200 IP43 rating. What this means is that the aircraft should fly in rain at slower speeds without any issues.

    You may want to put the landing gear on before folding the booms in and out. That’s the recommended procedure.

    • @SteelCityDrones
      @SteelCityDrones  ปีที่แล้ว

      The landing gear came off when we had the m300 prototype before the production model came out and we were not given any training or instruction as it was figure it out. I am glad that the landing gear failure stood out to you from 45 minutes of comprehensive information.

    • @CMGuavs
      @CMGuavs ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteelCityDrones it wasn’t the landing gear failure that stood out to me, it was the awkward attempt to fold in the prop booms with the airframe body sitting on the table without the landing gear. Our process with the M300 in its stock case is to attach the landing gear first with the airframe upside down in the case, then remove it, turn right side up, then unfold the props. Reverse process to break down.

    • @SteelCityDrones

      We could not disagree with you more. We give them a grade of A ++ We have had our demo unit since day (June 2020) with over 4000 flights used for training all across the country where we ship the batteries back and forth and they have held up perfect. WE have 5 sets of batteries that have more than 100 charges on them and they still have the same 34 minutes of flight time as they did day one. We have sold over 70 Matrice 300 to clients nationwide and have personally setup more than 50 of them and we have not had one issue. Not one customer has complained. The secret is how well the batteries are maintained and used. There is a ton of stuff that goes into the proper use of these batteries that most people do not know about or or are aware of why they fail. We cover this with our customers and in our Matrice 300 online course. That in our opinion makes the difference.
