@@StrataGames I don't think the rest of the Ikoria cycle is great for this cube, but if you want another cycle, the Liege Cycle from double masters (originally shadowmoor and eventide) gives each other copy of themselves +2/+2, while still potentially being played in other decks or maybe run multiple different Lieges in a monocolor deck for a weaker version of thier effects
This is an amazing idea! ive always been fascinated by cards like these, especially in all those meme thrummingstone combo builds people like to make youtube videos on and you seem to have hit the nail on the head! subbed
@@StrataGames of course, just one question- how come you’ve added just a playser of all the cards that gain bonuses of having cards that share a name with them in play, wouldn’t it be better to have something like ten copies so that your more likely to draft a large number of them?
Yeah, good question. I definitely went back and forth on how many of each card to include, but decided on 4 copies max (7 for seven dwarves) for these reasons: 1. Tons of cards I wanted to include, and didn't want to cut a bunch of interesting niche cards (the point of the cube) for several copies of Rat Colonies and such. 2. Didn't want to make it too easy to get multiple copies. The draft is a lot more interesting if you have to hedge your bets, rather than just expecting exactly what you need every couple packs. 3. Honestly, I think having 10 copies would do the opposite of the intention: with 4 copies, players are more hesitant to pick up one of those copies, allowing the player who chooses to do so more likely to get passed those cards. Whereas if the cube included 10 rat colonies, everyone who saw one would think "there's a ton of these" and start taking them, making it easy for 3-4 players going for the same cards. There's certainly some merit to including more copies, and I might do that if I feel it's necessary, but think I wouldn't go above 6 of a single card.
This is fascinating. As you've pointed out, it's so cool that those cards can get a home.

Another funny “collect them all” build around could be Ikoria’s Alert Heedbonder, which with multiples, gains you exponential amounts of life

Cards like Immortal Servitude would also work great in this kind of cube.
Oh yeah. Reanimate a bunch of Rats and Dwarves
Fractured identity would be a neat way to make more cards with the same name even if it doesn't fit blue-whites theme.
Yeah, that could be sweet. I definitely like the idea of essentially stealing an opponent's creature that you already have a copy of.
