Jon is hell of an actor, but Ben Barnes i might say stole the show, he's always between charming and totally psychotic. You love him and hate him equally. He's made his character way deeper and interesting than the Punisher himself. I think in season 2, you'll be still able to recognise Ben's face tho, it won't be as fucked up as in the comics or in the movies

When I heard that Ben Barnes, this charming and naturally elegant Londoner once Prince of Narnia was going to play a Marvel's vilain, very black-hearted and very american indeed, i didn't think he would be credible. Well.... What an amazing performance ! Ben really can play anything !! Is the most underrated actor there is....That vidéo pays him tribute. Great video !

Honestly out of all the marvel Netflix series this one was the best in my opinion because it's a horror film. Not in the sense of "oh look killer clown" but actually shows what it takes to break a man and shows a emotional pain so well that it actually gave me nightmares

I LOVED this show. But I have to admit that what went down between Frank and Billy broke my heart. I was root for Billy to come to his senses. I wanted him to side with Frank so badly. They were like brothers and you could see that there was love there. Which made that ending so much more brutal. It left me brokenhearted for the two of them and with such an awful taste in my mouth. Which I guess was the whole point. You are not supposed to feel good about what happened. You are supposed to feel for these characters and feel like shit about what happened. Because that is how Frank felt. He fucking felt like shit afterwards too. Just like me.

Yeah it was tragic, I loved it but hated it so much. In season 2 I was really hoping at some point frank was going to choose to help guide billy back rather than finish him off because Billy sort of had a clean state, I mean he did what he did but to him he never remembers why or actually doing any of it almost taking him back to where he was before it all went bad.

Man, I really loved Billy and his friendship with Frank. I think he was my favorite character. One thing I don't like though is that the show never bothers to explain why Billy did what he did. It's clear that he cared about Frank and may have been the only person he could truly call a friend. I'm not saying his betrayel doesn't make sense, I just wish we could get just one scene where Billy explains why he did what he did. I just haqte that Frank doesn't bother to ask why. He doesn't even question it "Oh well, I guess Billy's a scumbag."

Billy was an awful person, but a very broken one since the start unlike Frank. He had choices tho, and always screwed up everything because of his issues/insecurities. But the whole thing is just tragic for both sides... Your edit is perfect, this is super emotional and it captures their relationship perfectly.

As much as I loved this series, I didn't like the fact that in the end they made Billy a common hateful villain with no redeeming qualities. The thing is, it simply doesn't make sense to have betrayed Frank and his family, considering some of the things we saw with them, and especially the flashback scene with the family. They should have made it so that Billy didn't know about the murders or as if he tried to stop it. Otherwise, they shouldn't have included that scene at all. The man we see in the flashbacks and the man we see in the series are two different people. Something is off about it.
Yeah that's the only bit I didn't like, there is no way that a man Frank spent 8 years in service with and also that close to him and his family (which was shown in the flashbacks) could turn out to be they way that he did. In the flashbacks they seemed so close and then suddenly he's a full blown psychopath not caring about anybody. They didn't even explain what made him change so drastically.
I think they did. Billy was always vain and greedy. He wanted to feel important, because he was born an orphan and had a crack head mother. He was poor and powerless and insecure. He wanted to move past that. That's why he hated be called a grunt by rawlins and bennet. He cared about Frank but he cared about himself more.
Hope Kane maybe if he was an original character. He's jigsaw. He needs to be hateful and brutal and easy to hate. It's a comic book show
It seems to me that such betrayal is believable.
Billy was a poor child. He grew up without parents, and it affected him. He was friends with Frank in the army and after the service.
That flashback showed us what Billy said: "He was betrayed by his friend for money and fame".
This is what Billy did. This is the reason. He loves himself more than anything in the world, he feels sorry for himself. And he had a choice. To betray and become successful, or lose everything. Unfortunately, success and wealth are more important to him than the friendship and family of Frank.
And these are not two different people. This is the betrayal. When a friend becomes a stranger to you.
Unfortunately, I think he does't feel guilty. And he didn't think to interfere with what happened. He consciously let it happen.

Anyone else feel that Billy's biggest and only regret was turning his back to Frank to help Rawlins? I know he was a horrible person, but I would have just loved to see him be with Frank, as he still no matter what, cared more about Frank than any other person in the world.
Billy definitely regretted it but he was already too far gone, He was knee deep in shit and the only solution he had was to keep digging down.

I loved this series so much, it was amazing. But there's one thing that i just didn't understand. Why the hell did Billy betray Frank? Like what was the reason behind them becoming enemies? It was like Billy just had a sudden change of mind out of nowhere that he hates Frank. Someone please care to explain?. :d
Billy Russo came from nothing. Both his parents abandoned him. He grew up at an orphanage, destined to go nowhere in life. But in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where both Frank Castle and Billy Russo were stationed, Billy got his first chance at wealth and success. As mentioned in the series, Operation Cerberus was just a coverup for smuggling heroin into the United States. Billy dicovered this and was offered to be part of it, which he accepted. His parthership with William Rawlins in the heroin smuggling operation made him a very succesful man, and helped him achieve his life long goal of founding a private military firm, called Anvil. Billy Russo never had any hate for Frank. They were brothers in arms. However, Frank found out the truth about Operation Cerberus and William Rawlins' heroin operation. Therefore Billy Russo himself was also in danger of being exposed and thus lose everything he had worked so hard for since he came back from Afghanistan. That's why Billy Russo let Frank's family get killed. Not because he in any way hated Frank, but because Frank was getting too close to uncovering a conspiracy that would mean the end of the life Billy had built for himself, and thus prove everyone right who had said that he would never amount to shit. Billy was not willing to let that happen, and thus he betrayed Frank. His admiration, respect and friendship with Frank is genuine, but his time in Kandahar made him a sociopath who valued money and fame over family and friends. As he said himself: " I think if you beat a dog long enough, it goes crazy. It doesn't matter how good it was before, after that happens, the dog that you knew is never coming back".
A really tragic, realistic and interesting characters really. One of my favorite villains in a long time.

It's so hilarious how everyone here in the comment section talks about their "friendship" and "love for each other" when it's so blatantly obvious that Billy is a full blown pathological narcissist. As in he has a narcissistic personality disorder, is extremely unconscientious and has a disorganised attachment pattern.
People like him don't bond. They don't have real friends and they don't love. They can't. They may value certain relationships very highly - due to emotional, social, economical or other "beneficial" factors and benefit their own narcissistic construct (it's called narcissistic supply) - and they are even prone to overvaluing relationships that provide a great amount of narcissistic supply, but they don't empathise and bond with other people the way healthy/"normal" humans do.
That's the simple reason why he was willing and able to sacrifice Frank's family (and friends of his own btw) without losing a single night's sleep over it: they weren't good enough. They didn't satisfy his narcissistic needs. They didn't make him feel valuable enough. In other words, they were worthless to him.
If Frank's wife and kids had provided a substantial amount of narcissistic supply, he wouldn't have let them die. But they didn't. So they were nothing to him. That's all. It ain't that deep.

What never made sense was that in the show, the reason they gave for going after Frank and his family was that they thought he was the one who had betrayed them and released the tape, but Frank was the the one pulling the trigger to kill the cop in the tape, so clearly he wasn't the one filming them. So why they went after Frank and his family doesn't make sense.
