Impressive model
Nice short review. I love these UWLses. But in one part of your video I saw that the extreme corner are very soft, not to say unsharp. Therefore I will stay with my beloved Sigma 14-24mm 2,8, which is a great lens.

Witch si the best Ultra wide angle FF lens for real estate Photography? I have the a7c + 20mm f1.8
I have the 9mm f5.6 and hate the lack of electronic contacts and wonky field curvature. This looks like an attractive upgrade
I assume you use APS-C. This lens would be a total waste then, better get Sigma 10-18 2.8.
No he doesn't, He said f/5.6. That's the full frame one. APS-C one is f/2.8. Do your research@@fotografalexandernikolis

Well screenshot the sample images in the video and crop in 2/3 the length of each side, then you have the APS-C crop. Other than the crop there's nothing really special about putting an APS-C sensor behind the lens.
I wonder if they make that for the nikon fx.
I wish you could copare this to a gopro. I wanna use one of these lenses whiele on my trampoline.

btw: Autofocus just supported on Nikon / Sony mount. Canon mount is manual focus (Canon is said to be very protective towards 3rd party usage of their mount)
they are "not said" but they are incredibly restrictive in opening the mount because people would stop buying overpriced canon RG glass
Astrophotography on A7R could use this lens greatly. Wide field of view, and if you need to crop, you have a lot of megapixels to play with. Yes, very wide for large milkyway shots, all of Bernard's Loop and the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, entire constellations, etc. Time-lapse video of the Milkyway traveling across the sky would be fun.
Also, the great thing about the 10mm is the increased duration of a single exposure. Now, it won't be great for smaller objects and deepsky observations.
I prefer their 15mm f/2, but this lens seems like it would do just as well

Sony mirrorless cameras has built-in Sharpen. It can't be switched off. You must put this into account when making any reviews with Sony.
BTW, I've found almost the same behavior in my Fuji X-T3 but it's only for photographs in JPEG. Sony does the trick for RAW(!)
You have any source for that? Personally I've never seen any hint of sharpening on neither my A7 or A7III, and I can't find anything online about this.
@@gurratell7326 hmmm... I've heard (and seen most probably) mentioning this in videos from Olegasphoto channel. He tells in Russian tough.
It's clear when you compare with photographs from Fujifilm for example. Their kit lenses are well known for the very good quality. But these lenses doesn't give you a very sharp picture if you'll process RAFs in LightRoom (with Sharpen set to 0) or in Darktable. They looks naturally "soft" in a lot of conditions.
Of course it depends highly on the sun (or lights) direction and daytime!
P.S. I'm not telling that Sony cameras gives you bad photographs. But it's the important detail!
10mm AF FF is NUTS.
Did you try the lens for vertical video? I am curious if it could be used to crop to 5x4 vertical and show a semi wide view for reels.

I would love to see this against the 9mm Brightin-Star which only has MF but as cheap as it gets and suberb image quality for the money.

You use APSC lenses, how do you figure this would do on a full frame like A7IV?

I'll keep my Laowa 12 and Laowa 10-18. Never need AF with this length.
"Never need AF with this length" first of all that's something you say because you haven't tried using wide-angle very close to subjects where you don't have infinite DoF. Secondly you can technically say "never need AF" for any lens, if you have time to manually focus all the time. But guess what, sometimes focusing manually is too slow.
The 9mm has a ton of chromatic aberration, not super sharp either... it seems to have improved on this one.

If you think this lens is for normal video you would be wrong. This is for real estate photography and video. That's the point.
The close focus ones looks horrible...

Looks crazy enough to want it, but the $799 price is not something I'm willing to pay for a little bit ultrawide fun. The manufacturer should understand that's it's a fun lens, not an essential one, they should have priced it at $400-500 max, and perhaps they will if the sales turn out to be dismal.
