Improved aesthetic. Seems like a better option than the 9mm 5.6 for L-mount. Looking forward to reviews.

Yes, 77mm. I don't see any additional vignette with a 5mm deep CPL.

It's probably Leica then controlling the mount. I thought the only real threat to E-mount was L-mount. Seems they took the L too seriously.

I wonder what happened to this. I haven't seen any official news so far.
My china friends had received the 10 year anniversary ones, those come with custom engraving. He says Laowa will start sending these out at the end of February. But those won't have custom engravings. This lens has an insane 12cm focusing distance. Selling my left ball to get one. Edit: it's 700-750 usd.

@garreswe yep, I can't add links here but venus lens (Laowa's English site) you can Google a product page that is gated unless you have a code to access and purchase.
Ahh, just emailed them, if you google for the lens name, you can find a password gated link, I'm not sure I'm allowed to say this, but the password is "preorder". They just updated mid-end march delivery.
@@properwithchris I found that page a few days ago and didn't know what to do so thanks for the pass. Now I'm really tempted to get it but it annoys me that the l-mount is MF but has the same price as AF. And I'm not sure how much I'll use it tbh. So I'll wait a little more time with my decision 🤔

Damn, it seems rectilinear. I had the 14mm GM, and it was my favorite lens, just not so useful all the time. I sold my 20mm 1.8 to get it, and used crop mode on the 14mm for portraits and things. This 10mm looks too wide. Maybe I should into one of those those 12-24mm, the f4 or 2.8
Get this 10mm F2.8 with the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 - You'd be sorted.
Not sure why you would need autofocus on such a wide lens. After a certain point, distance-wise, everything is going to be in focus anyway.
Even a 10mm lens will have out of focus areas at 2.8 on full frame. Particularly when you Subject is very close

@DC-gf5pm Really? Do you have an ultra wide lens, or are you just spewing nonsense from your parents' basement?
@howardtownsend2574 I have two ultra wide lenses. A 7Artisans 10mm F2.8, and the newer 9mm F5.6. Both of these lenses will render pretty much everything in focus beyond ten feet. So yes, at close distances, it would still require precise manual focus. But that wasn't my point.
At f/2.8 of the subject is at 5 feet distance everything from 3 feet to 31 feet will be in acceptable focus. Effective depth of field will be almost 28 feet. So, all practical purposes autofocus is redundant for such a wide angle pens.

Seems kinda silly to have AF. I'll stick with my beloved laowa 15 macro. So versatile and way less distortion. Crazy one of a kind macro shots and my favorite lens to take skate photos with. 10mm on FF is kind of ridiculous in the first place. Reminds me of dumb shots from 90's skate videos lol
I have a fisheye lens with no AF, but I do indeed sometimes when I shoot street marches.
And 2 months later - nothing.
10 year anniversary pre-orders have been sent to some people. Friend in China says they send out orders end of February/start of March. (Edit for accuracy and spelling)

@@andreschwarzkopf1994 Canon and even Nikon are both shooting themselves in the foot. At least Nikon is semi-trying to backtrack a bit. I love Sony lenses but I only own one 200-600mm G the rest are 3rd party and planning to get many other 3rd party lenses as well with this one included as this is a must have!
