Clarkson was so bad, that he was traded for Horton who was never going to play a game again, and the team who traded Clarkson away was on the winning side lol
Bobrovsky was rumored to have played with an injury all year long - saying he stopped trying is very disingenuous. His defense in front of him did him very few favors also.
Also I’m not quite sure the title should be “stopped trying at all” when even the creator is acknowledging that they should bounce back. One down year doesn’t really mean they’re not trying.
I wished my flyers ditched Ilya Bryzgalov instead of Bobrovsky. The way my flyers are now with carter hart. Between those two would be a great match up. Mason struggled this season and last season. But I do miss Bobby overall
Ironically, that Artemi Panarin deal has paid off a lot. The Rangers also signed Scott Gomez to a bad deal but then traded him for some college defenseman named Ryan McDonagh.
The same thing with Faulk happened with Erik Karlsson they left a team that they were basically the backbone of and then went to a team that didn't need them to lead as much
LoL....not the right comparison imo. You're talking about one of the best offensive Defenseman compared to a guy who has never really been a true top pairing Offensive D man. Faulks good but he's not great, Karlsson use to be the best O Dman in the league.
How about Erik Karlsson's $11.5mill/year over 8 years? He's a defensive liability, and wasn't the same Karlsson as the Ottawa days. And that forced the Sharks to have to let Pavelski (their captain!) go to free agency. Also maybe you could do a video of players who's careers have gotten better after cashing in (like Ovechkin, Chara, Panarin)
Karlsson isn't a bad d man, people assume that because he is so often attacking, but when he is in the D zone, he's pretty good, when he is in the D zone. /s

Canes fan here. I was coming down here to comment about Semin. For this video, definitely Semin, because in his first year he did INSANE from what I can remember but after that, he just disappeared. Darling Sucked the moment he got here lmao.
Considering the question then Semin was a great deal and Darling have to be the worst one by the Canes. What screwed them was EXTENDING him for five more years at 7 m, but that's NOT a free agency signing since he already played for them when the contract was signed.
Minnesota Wild: signing of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Very bold of the wild to lock both of them up for that long and it certainly has come back to haunt them in terms of the salary cap

Christopher Storms they were in the playoffs but not because of any signing made in that time. Kenny Holland had an empire built for him and you can arguably say he did absolutely nothing to maintain it and in the later years he ran this organization into the ground.
I'll grant you that Garth Snow was the more culpable one. But look at his stats. Nothing in the games he did play justified the contract he received. I thought he was overrated when I watched him on the Sound Tigers and that opinion didn't change when he moved up to the NHL.
I disagree with including Faulk in here. He’s played very well on the left side with Pietrangelo once Bouwmeester had his heart issues. Also, the Blues power play has been so good this year with Parayko, Pietrangelo, and Dunn getting the lion’s share of the opportunities that Faulk’s lost out on his favorite tool for racking up points. Unlike the rest of the guys on your list, Faulk’s numbers are a reflection of the fact that he’s on a stacked team that has a lot of internal competition for ice time. What ice time he does get he plays well.
Mikkel Boedker. San Jose hasn't made any really terrible free-agent signings, but Vlasic's and Karlsson's contract extensions are pretty rough. Karlsson has the chance to prove his worth; however, Vlasic is already rapidly declining, which doesn't bode well for the Sharks.

Ohhh here’s a gooder! How bout Alexia Yashin!!! Ottawa got chara 1st overall - spezza from the islanders and then signed yashin for something like 10 years / 90 mill. I believe they literally just stopped paying his salary a couple years ago
Roman Turek play with the Flames went downhill after he signed a huge contract early in the 2001-2002 season. He had shutouts in the Flames first two games that season . And that was pretty much it for his career which ended after the 2003-2004 as he backed up Mikka Kiprusoff.
Do a video where you look into teams who have drafted 3+ times in the 1st round in the same draft and how it spanned out for them. Worst to best results or something.
@Marvin Santana For sure one of the worst. Considering Kyle Connor, Thomas Chabot and Matthew Barzal came after their picks. Debrusk is decent but he was slotted to go in the second round.
Bobrovsky's situation is a little ironic, considering what happened to former teammate Ilya Bryzgalov. Bobrovsky was pretty solid as a Flyer during the season, but he was disappointing come playoff time, which was the reason why the Flyers brought Bryzgalov in on that ridiculous contract. Saying Bryzgalov underperformed as a Flyer is an understatement, and now Bobrovsky is also going through the same thing as a Panther. If Bobrovsky gets bought out by next year, then the parallels to Bryzgalov will be eerily similar, as the Flyers bought him out just two years into the contract.
Trouba was pretty good defensively but he didn’t put up the points that he did because he was on the power play with Laine Wheeler and Scheifele. He doesn’t even play on the power play in NY, which is why Tony DeAngelo, who took the power play spot, had an insane year
He wasn't a liability, but analytically he was still having his worst season in his entire career. I have always been a very big fan of Trouba, and I know he will bounce back.
What is your teams WORST free agency signing?
Karl Alzner by far !!

Ville Leino was still the worst signing to this day for the Buffalo sabres
Sorry for my spelling and grammar, my tablet autocorrected and I wrote really fast
Bob has been one of the best goalie so far
Roman Turek play with the Flames went downhill after he signed a huge contract early in the 2001-2002 season. He had shutouts in the Flames first two games that season . And that was pretty much it for his career which ended after the 2003-2004 as he backed up Mikka Kiprusoff.
Edmonton fan here, Lucic.
Do you have a podcast?
No I don't!
am i allowed to pick brent seabrook?
