WG is the one that asked for this. They wanted more people to play the carriers and put them in a better place. Im sure they looked at the complaints and tried to address them (as evident with the rus nerf and spotting changes). Most of the cvs in games i had seen prior would not play utility, they would play for damage. I believe thats the trend they leaned into for the rework. CV mains were not the target with the rework. The people not playing CVs were.
I would agree with this... However without naming names, I can think of people who asked for very specifically some of the major changes. True WG may have been looking to increase CV engagement from player base. True WG wanted to address some of the issues with how CV's were being played. It's a weird little mix of things people asked for, and goals WG had that just combined in all the wrong ways like a bad recipe.

WG in one big update made their changes, changes CV haters wanted, changes CV players wanted and the end result is this disaster. I think you hit the nail on the head. It's why I'm not holding my breath for an aa rework either. They want more people playing the class and i think that's why they've kept aa so weak. Which is why I think people are so frustrated about the cv getting more attack power when they know their aa was already ineffective and now you can't Even deplane Carriers anymore
Noticed no one talks about the Campaign ship but all sudden it's the AircraftCarriers. Anyways my Uncle he served on USS New Jersey (BB-62) he was assigned too the 16inch gun's on Turret number 2. Told me a lot about Navel Warfare and in World of Warships legends i take some of that too note. AircraftCarriers are kinda not the biggest of threats as people claim to be not because people are just bad it's basically some don't look at patch notes or there concerns about hidden Destroyers. Battleships and Crusiers can get the advantage now because those AircraftCarriers need to push up meaning the moment it's spotted all these Ship's will most likely be within Range of shooting the AircraftCarriers. AAs are a big problem I've always noticed this i was hoping they would fix that over the AircraftCarriers themselves.
Some perspective here on why people get so triggered with CV’s. It is the only class who can “detach” it’s guns,fly across the map,and strike at will with little to no reprisal. You are correct on AA. I play PC and on PC you can put AA crew on full alert on one side,this needs to be done on console badly.
Battleship is the only class that can sit at back of map and full health delete another BB with a single gun Salvo. DD is the only class that can get right on top of someone and delete them without ever being spotted. Light cruisers are the only class that can lob shells to the moon over a mountain and burn down someone 17km across the map. Each class has it's really annoying things it does, that have very limited counters. But for some reason people only see the annoying thing CV's do with limited counters. Almost like that's exactly what I am talking about when I speak of confirmation bias. I don't like being deleted by a BB that was unspotted and fired his first time just to delete me. I don't like being deleted by a DD with God knows how many torps from 4.8km unspotted the entire match. I don't like being roasted to the keel from an angry ass island 17km from me... Just like people don't like being attacked by a CV they can't immediately shoot back at. Why pretend like it's just CV's that have some sort of annoying playstyle though? How many videos have I made calling for nerfs to any of the non CV playstyles I just mentioned that are absolutely annoying? None is the answer. I'm an adult and accept it's a valid tactic for that class that plays to its strengths. Same way I accept it when I get absolutely graped by a CV, doing what is best for it's class strengths. Looking at it any other way is just biased against a class someone doesn't like. Are there fixes and adjustments that can be made? Yes. Should those suggestions come from people who just hate a class and are biased against it? No. Fixing AA would solve just about every legitimate issue there is with CV's. Warships was a game initially designed for surface ships. I spot you you spot me etc. etc. Don't take my word for it, ask WG. Why do you think WG bans CV's from Clan Battles(on PC), and other game modes? It's WG themselves that think CV's unbalance a lot of games. I picked up on the plane speed advantage on day one. Now there's very little reaction time for a ship and its AA with fast incoming planes. Entering and exiting AA bubble is even easier with faster planes. CV haters NOW want to reduce bomb/torp damage don't realize that wont do anything to stop what we have now and that is a new system incentivizing CV players to be hyper focused on farming damage.

Thank you. Ya, faster you can build your planes to be, the more you can ignore the AA in the game. It was a trick used by good CV players in 1.0, but took some skill to pull off. Now in 2.0 requires little skill.
Another thing to take into consideration. Before the update, what separated highly skilled cv players who consistently rack up high damage points to your average cv player barely getting any damage points is DISTANCE. Skilled CV players always play as close to the enemy team as possible to not only shorten their flight time to the target but also be able to constantly launch squadrons of torp/bomber planes at a faster rate. The biggest complaint from pretty much everyone was cv players camping in the back of the map. Everyone got their wish on forcing cv players away from the back and now they are regretting it. CV players are now stacking up damage points at a rate never before seen because they are forced to play close to the enemy just like the skilled cv players.
This is what happens when such a large playerbase doesn't play them for an unknown reason, is creates skewed data that they have to interpret to help the game. The haters don’t understand that their inaction with playing CVs is what got such a tone-deaf balance change. Their data was wrong but what could they do if all they did was interpret the data as they saw fit?
In tier 5 any American battleship I play the CVS always run away so I can't test my aa builds. Legendary carriers are this broken but not as bad as people claim.

People have selective hearing when it comes to topics they are very biased about one way or another. And sadly most people lack the basic intelligence to still have a civil unbiased conversation about something they either really like or dislike. You haven’t been the only one going through it sadly. People don’t wanna listen to reason or logic and you have to understand that. Just like you’ve stated with Xarkun whom btw is an amazing player and a blessing to the wows legends CC program. Same with Spartan. But let’s be real, Name 1 CC who ever had a soft spot CVs. Hell name one that was at least very neutral to the idea of CVs. You probably can’t 🤷🏻♀️. Sure they can play them and do well with them eh due they understand the game, but none of them actually like them and believe it or not it does make a difference. Also don’t forget the majority of people who came to this game from wows PC who specifically came here to get away from CVs. Add all that together and you get the exact spot we are in right now. Sure not everyone is like that but it’s very few compared to the majority. And the fact that you’re going against the grain and not just shitting on CVs too is what makes you a target. I have had people my entire life that thought they could bully me for one reason or another, only to find out when an individual survives enough bombings they become bomb proof. So not the trolls or bully's I necessarily find frustrating; just the fact people can be so determined to look at things through only their own self centered perspective. Don't stress to much over finding time. If it can't happen this week, we can move it to next week or the week after. All I really need on my end is a couple days to be able to promote it, so we can actually have people in the chat who want to ask questions. Whatever you can find that works, we'll make work. What a aircraft carrier mess this update.I don't mind playing with CV in the game,but they now made the aircraft carrier a PLANE FACTORY.Planes flying through multiple flag from 2 or 3 ships together and still having 5 planes to drop bombs is just crazy. They will probably fix it next updates.👍👍
I agree they either can have the spotter role or Damage and Harassment role like look at history Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and showed that carriers are the kings at striking targets and damaging them same for Yamato's last stand during the war and for the spotting role even during the battle of Midway Enterprise's squadrons could find the Japanese fleet and well they ended up spotting the Japanese Destroyer IJN Arashi after a depth charge run on the Submarine USS Nautilus and since they spotted Arashi they ended up finding the Japanese fleet basically I see it as they can get one or the other at this point the spotter role or Damage and Harassment role
In wot they do that same thing but with rpg.....or arty players as they are always in the back and dish out tremendous dmg but they are never seen till end of game..lol..

I enjoy the CV rework, hopefully it stays and we see some new post war TT ships with better AA
never had a problem with the carriers in the game. Though today I'm a bit annoyed seeing enemy ships on my radar but not in game. That's about it.
