I get the feeling the first steps in the instructions on how to transform this one start with "Are you sure? Really? You don't have to live this way. Therepy is available.... Still? Eh, your funeral."
Glad to hear DreamStar QC has gotten worse since this line came out. lol I'm sorry for your pain Em! I knew these figures would be a journey through patience when the very two figures released in this combiner literally fell apart for me during unboxing! I sent everything back and cancelled the rest of my pre-orders. For the price of these figures, the quality is pitiful.
It is too stylized for me. I don't mind some liberties and some stylization, but this looks too busy to me and too many panels, and too many little things going on that can break.
my guess about how this happened: Dream Star Toys designer: "let's make the joints on the central figure super stiff so the combine mode will hold poses!" DST bean counter: "sounds good!" DST engineer: "we'll need a better quality of plastic and more resilient joints to support that, otherwise it'll tear itself apart." DST bean counter: "sounds expensive! absolutely not."
I’ve always thought that it was weird for a team of fighter jets to be led by a passenger jet. A good update for him would be to transform into either a B1 or B2 bomber
Whenever you go on TH-cam to find something, there’s 100 people doing that thing. But there’s always 1 person living in 2050 and is doing that thing leaps and bounds better than the others. For Transformer transfomations, that person is Emgo. The lighting, the shots, the knowledge, the comedy. The Emgo
Given the "glowing" review, I get the impression that by this point in the combiner, the designers might have been feeling fatigued, as this figure feels very phoned in the closer you look at it. His design is also suspiciously close to SSBM Concept Megs in terms of presence, right down to having an arm cannon.
When I got mines the foot broke off. Showz replaced it for me. Also, I agree with you 1000% about the pain and suffering. Also, this bot is my villian original story. I have combine it and left it only.
I'm so glad finances kept me from even thinking about going in on this set. I love the idea and the look, but wow, every one after the first were varying levels of nightmares.
An MPM style 'Silverbolt' with all of the QC problems, and no droop snoot? (I don't remember if Zeta did it with theirs) But I am glad to see this review made it (your suffering will not be in vain).
Seeing Bobby's review I knew what i was in for, but you're never really ready for how bad this figure is. My goodness. Emgo, bless your heart you little champion!!!
I got real lucky with my copy of Silverbolt, seeing as both arms are still attached and the only real issue was the tail fin. Wasn't expecting Emgo's luck to be this bad with the figure
It looks so good and, as far as I am aware, the only set where there is no need for extra parts to combine. A pity about the breaking issue with the arm/shoulder section. As far as I am aware, it is too common to be worth it. Hopefully, DST will decide to reissue it with a better shoulder/arm part.
Studio CELL (Unicron): For a time, I decided to spare those Emgo's awesome fingers. But now, you shall witness EMGO's SUFFERING!!! Dream Star Toys SILVERBOLT (and other members of "Superion"): HOLD MY ENERGON BEER!
Lately the more expensive the transforming toy is, the more complex and less fun the transformation process is. Ending up with a transform once and never touch it again kind of figure.
I think there's a universe somewhere where this basic transformation scheme works. A universe where the designers aren't so full of themselves that they over-engineer every inch of it Extreme overreliance on sliding double hinge joints. Regular double hinges with no sliding would work perfectly fine on every one of those wing panels, and a fair few of them could even just be a single hinge to further simplify matters. And there are way too many panels and small moving parts in the robot itself for something that, in the end, is still just "robot folded up under a jet"
I had the same issue with it being broken in the box with my first copy. Second copy had I two left shoulder parts where the thrusters could not connect. Fortunately tfsource sent me a replacement part.
Not sure if it's been covered in a Live video or not, have you done a 500k Subscribers video? I wasn't sure when you hit that goal (congrats by the way) so I'm curious what the plans for that will be
He is a Concord...the only NON fighter of the set. The others are a (from back to front of the lineup) F-15 Strike Eagle F-16 Fighting Falcon Concord Harrier F-4 Phantom
It kind of make sense for all of them to be sliver as the only ones who had matching color are Devastor and preda king then again they could be other combiners that have the same color scheme
Arm broke on mine. I went to pick it up, and the Superion leg stayed there. I glued it into place. Love the look, but i will never transform these figures again, especially Silverbolt. Hands down the least fun to transform figure I've ever had.
I have a tutorial how to fix the arms of Silverbolt. Goes through all the issues and causes of the breakage that could happen. My tutorial completely fixes the figure and you do not have to worry about breaking the arms anymore.
Collecting this set Silver bolt is next on my list. But seen videos on the transformation, its without question a transformation that will drain you mentally. Glad you didn't do a video on it Emgo there are plenty all ready for those who wish to see the transformation. Sorry to hear about all those issues with the figures hopefully I get lucky and don't experience them myself.
Been a good week for Emgo. Got himself some really cool new figs Ok...maybe this one wasnt so awesome. That said tho, this thing is an absolute BEAUTY!
.y arm also fell off after I transformed it the second time. Also showed up with broken bits in the box. Decided after getting the four of five bots to stop there. Between the broken bits and the overall "look" of him in combiner mode, im moving on.
Sadly, same thing happened to me. Need a replacement as well. Saw your review for Scorch Flight and thought how you didn't do Silverbolt (which was supposed to be Blitzbolt, don't know why they didn't change the name like they should) when I been had mine. So started to transform it and the right arm came off. Still have yet to replace it. So I know your pain.
I combined mine today. The left arm - main leg came twisted off like chewing gum, plus numerous small pieces broke off due to the brittle plastic... It's 'assembled' but the leg is 'adjacent' and is held together by frustration... One Beautiful Disaster
Hasbro or Takara may not have kept up the licensing for the name. Like the Jetfire/Skyfire deal in the past. I mean, that's just a guess, but it's the only thing I can think that would give them the confidence to use his actual name and risk a lawsuit and/or a cease and desist. 😂😂
I just finished Watching an Old Video of your from about 5 or 6 years ago and I just wanted to know if you Ever got another Unique Version of Octane because thanks in Part to watching this Video I got that Version of Octane along with Unique Version of Sandstorm Too and has The Superglue Worked and is still holding or did you have to Fork Out for another Unique Octane Triple Changer for Your Collection ?. I would love to see a Video on your Full Collection of Transformers Going from G1 to Know ?.
Honestly, This figure is just proof that you can very much overengineer to pull off your 3P black Magic. Cell (And presumably Seed) from 01 Studio was also overengineered but at least there was 0 kibble beyond screen accuracy. This does not have that. It looks good but that backpack, my god, the jet mode is even worse, the limb bots had 0 robot kibble visible really, and they had minimal backpacks. How tf they screwed it up that bad for Silverbolt idk. I guess it's because the Concorde was a very, very slim jet, unlike the fighters. Honestly I fear for their Constructicons, but at least those have the benefit of being a much simpler translation between robot -> vehicle -> combined mode, but I have a feeling they will be heavily overengineered with the bad QC in Silverbolt here. Also I like to imagine each section of this video was like Robot mode Review -> Robot to Vehicle JTI -> Vehicle Mode Review -> Vehicle to combined JTI, just bouncing back and forth between both review styles in one very long, very painful, day of work.
I was gunna make a joke about this Silverbolt eating his wheaties, but then you started saying this guy is the bane of your existence, and shattered his bones multiple times idk if that’s accurate anymore.
Can I have your left vertical fin off the disassembled one? Snapped mine off the pin. I’ll pay ya for it too. One thing I’m finding with this set is the plastic, as tough as it is, still has some brittleness in some areas. I also went through a similar issue of missing parts and stuff with the scorch flight (F-4 Phantom). The first one showed up without the combiner peg in his chest. I had to wait for a new one to show up and that one was missing his left wing. Finally the last one was good to go. Thanks for all the videos you do! They’re a great (and entertaining) supplement to the instructions!
@ meh. It was worth a try. I’m sure I could figure out how to make one with resin or something. In the meantime it still looks cool. Just watched the vid on the complete encourager. I agree DST definitely has some QA/QC issues. Lots of things can snap off also if you’re not super careful. I think part of it is the plastic they chose to use. I’m guessing it’s because they had to choose something strong enough for the thickness they were using and yet something that could still have a lot of detail. I had the worst luck with the F-16. The F-4 just got returned a couple times for missing parts. In the end, very nice to look at. It weighs in around 8.2 lbs. and if you ever want to learn the names of aircraft parts, drop me a line lol
When Emgo says "pain and suffering," you know it's gonna hurt 😭
I get the feeling the first steps in the instructions on how to transform this one start with "Are you sure? Really? You don't have to live this way. Therepy is available.... Still? Eh, your funeral."
That should’ve been a disclaimer on the box lol
Glad to hear DreamStar QC has gotten worse since this line came out. lol I'm sorry for your pain Em! They release devastator next. But im afraid about their qc
Same. And unlike this one it is in it's appropriate colors. So I hope the qc is fixed by then.
It is too stylized for me. I don't mind some liberties and some stylization, but this looks too busy to me and too many panels, and too many little things going on that can break.
Emgo is an upbeat person. When he says something is bad it is 100% guaranteed bad.
my guess about how this happened:
Dream Star Toys designer: "let's make the joints on the central figure super stiff so the combine mode will hold poses!"
DST bean counter: "sounds good!"
DST engineer: "we'll need a better quality of plastic and more resilient joints to support that, otherwise it'll tear itself apart."

My favorite Aerialbot, also known as the namesake of my favorite Maximal Silverbolt!
Is it also the namesake of the color preference for your bolts ?
@@marior4250😂
I liked the combiner feet alt mode as airport tractor tug 😂
Dreamstar: Names their 3rd Party Silverbolt “Silverbolt”.
Me: Yeah, good luck not ending up in court.
There should have at least been a hyphen or a space or SOMETHING to differentiate...
@@PolarityOfNeoSoulCity "Silver-Bolt" or something like that
His name was advertised as "Blitzbolt" during development - it just didn't wind up like that on the box.
I don't think the Chinese really care about copyright laws or anything like that. So good luck getting them to court in the first place.
Love the use of the broken pieces. LOL
I’ve always thought that it was weird for a team of fighter jets to be led by a passenger jet. A good update for him would be to transform into either a B1 or B2 bomber
And a plane that have phobia to fly😂
Not once in 38 years have I ever thought about this, but now it'll never ever leave my brain. Damn/thank you
G1 Grimlock:"Legacy Prime much better!"
Dream Star Silverbolt:"Get used to it!"

I remember having all of the G1 Aerial bots that made Superion, and it was so much fun playing with them, so when I saw yours, it reminded me of them.
Dang, I actually caught this As soon as it was uploaded
I just looked at the JTI and it's _twice as long_ as this review. Good god.

Looks very very nice. But too expensive for my taste. Love the reviews. Thanks for showing us greatness in your videos.
Ha! Tons of work to get robot under jet mode. What great description.
Fighting through your trauma to bring us this review took courage. We appreciate your commitment.
They look so good but the transformations are daunting

Should have called him Silverbroke.

Those vehicles are tugs
Lately the more expensive the transforming toy is, the more complex and less fun the transformation process is. Ending up with a transform once and never touch it again kind of figure.
Just looking at him right now in robot mode I can’t already tell it was a giant pain to transform it haha
I think there's a universe somewhere where this basic transformation scheme works. A universe where the designers aren't so full of themselves that they over-engineer every inch of it

You know the figure is hellish when emgo doesnt want to transform it on camera for the review
Like... HOW?
@0:08 Silverbolt looks like he's been hittin the GYM!!😮😂
The epic tragic saga concludes
I am looking forward to the next video
after seeing your tweets about this guy, this video is going to be fun
Believe it or not, the vehicles that become the combined mode feet are called Tow Tractor's.
14:23, I would make them pull a Voltron, flying towards each other while ascending then merging midair.
Emgo! DST is offering a replacement part that's a completely new design! Supposedly fix the issue
How do you get it?
@@TheJoshcarp81 Ask your retailer for the replacement parts
fix which issue? there's lots of those here.
@emgo316 The shoulder ratchets, DST changed the design and it's being offered as a replacement part

This figure is the embodiment of: Looks can save you, But NOT this one.

This dropped the day AFTER I finally nerved up and transformed my copy. 😅 Totally don't blame him for skipping the transformation in the review.
Been a good week for Emgo. Got himself some really cool new figs

Is this the first time you completely skipped the transformations in a video? If so, this figure deserved that title.
He did it one other time to my knowledge with the Lucky Cat War Within Devastator though that was for a completely different reason
I’m sorry you had to go through pain for this
Shame most third party transformers don't have the depressed pie-chart.
(...please tell me y'all got that.)
This is the first time Emgo suffers transforming a figure. 😂😂😂
Ok now the end was funny

Nunca te mereciste tanto el like como hoy. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You sure made the JTI look easily done though, good job on that. You.also made it look like a fairly easy transformation.
It took almost three hours to record that.
The feet are called tugs
14:32 - i would buy it just for this display - it looks like an Air Force statue (or a Lockheed statue)

I bet Emgo got three Silerbolts, one in each mode, just so he doesn't have to ever transform it again.
It looks like a remold of Jetfire from the Bayverse Movie.

how did a third party company got away with naming him silverbolt?

Oh dear.
these designs just look needlessly Bayverse Style busy.
this figure is reinforcing my no 3rd party mentality
No-no-no, brother. There are third party companies that actually know how to do this well. This company is apparently not one of them though lol.
Now leave him in whatever mode you choose and never transform him again. XD
Finally! I have been waiting ever since he said he was avoiding do him lol yes
