reminds me of a customer of mine said he had a crank no start condition. i got the truck towed to my house. I looked over to see if i saw anything and i did notice a new MAF sensor. I cranked it over to hear how it sounded cranking over. The truck took a while but it started up. I drove the truck down the street and it had hardly any power. On idle it would run fine but once i gave it some gas it just ran like crap and most of the time shut off. I was getting lean codes which was why they probably changed the MAF sensor. I felt it was definitely fuel related. I decided to change the fuel pump cause i could not figure out what it could be. no vacuum leaks or anything. Once i had the fuel pump out i can tell right away it was new. I compared it to the new one to make sure they were the same. I noticed that the old one had a rubber piece covering the bottom of the pump that feeds the fuel. I took the rubber piece out and just starting laughing. Well there's problem brother you forgot to remove the rubber piece when you took it out the box LOL

      @@Techie1224 Our IHC WD40, TD40, WD9, SWD9, TD9, and the TD14a all have 4 spark plugs.
The 40’s have huge 7/8 thread spark plugs. The 9’s and the 14 have 18mm spark plugs.
Those IHC diesels started on gas, then ran on diesel. There were 3 valves per cylinder. An intake, an exhaust, and a 1&1/8” diameter decompression valve witch lead to the spark plugs.
      Only IHC used this system.
The WD40 came out in 1939, it was the first agricultural diesel tractor.
It was hand cranked, mag ignition, run on gas to warm up, then switch over to diesel. Cat, John Deere and others used a gas pony motor to turn over the diesel motor.

Also a good way to clean the inside of the terminals is at Ace Hardware or a hardware or a plumbing store, get some copper fitting cleaning brushes. I buy the ones with the looped handle. I cut off the loops, chuck it in my Makita drill. Cleans the terminals great. Also helps to clean drive shafts when replacing u-joints. I buy all 6 sizes. The 1/2” works on negative, the 5/8 works on positive.
If you want to spread terminals without a battery terminal spreader pliers, use a heavy snap ring pliers made for snap rings without holes. Works a lot nicer than what you are doing!

Trust no one, check yourself, place plugs gently into position using peace of rubber pipe to hold porcelain in straight orientation, never use power tools on plugs, you can lose control and crack the porcelain, then misfires.Never put long reach plugs in short thread holes and vice versa. You have a lot to still learn young padawan,I am 61 now and always learning, since my first mechanical adventure at 12 on my mk2 1962 jag auto box strip down. Great content, just makes me feel old lol.GBYA,from yes a F1 race engine tech from UK.

Great videos. Just wanted to add something to watch for especially on those nissans. The main ground breaks off at the trans. It can sometimes work but I just runs through a small chassis gnd. Intermittent start and other issues. Every older Altima and maxima I have checked has had this problem.

This was definitely installer error! He smashed them down and was to embarrassed to admit the mistake. I’ve even had people crack the porcelain on plugs trying to remove them on their own then stop because they know they messed up, then come into the shop saying they have a misfire can we check it out

    • @lovetolearn5253

I love when a customer comes in with a no start or a misfire after they messed around and plays stupid. Oh it just started doing it out of nowhere. A good tech is going to find it regardless but they could of saved the customer diagnose time if they're honest. we're going to find out the truth eventually so just tell your mechanic the WHOLE STORY and it could save time money and a trust.

I remember once working on a nissan sentra I went to autozone the plugs they gave me were longer once I compare them to stock one went to another autozone to replace them and they showed me the same as the ones I went to replace .I return them and went to the dealer since I was confused of who had the right plugs they gave me the same size that was in the car and that fixed my problem.
I would suggest you get a cart to put your tools if you park your truck across the street your tools will be easier to find on the cart than going back and forth ...good video

You should really use brass eye rings on the negative cable instead of just smashing bare wires.also reason why you have to spread battery terminal on the positive is because you are using a negative battery terminal on the positive.if you didn't know they are different diameters,

I’m a Manager at a major auto parts retailer, and especially when it comes to spark plugs we will always damage them out of inventory rather than sell them due to how sensitive they are.
