- I thought I would try some aftermarket lights for the Quads. (Actually i was told by my wife she wanted better lights after a long night ride we just did) Stock lights for both quads were 35watt lowbeam/35watt highbeam . so tried the SilverStar Sylvania on the bike on the left H4-55/65watt . then I bought some Led lights off ebay They claimed they were or are Cree lights 30watt (no identification came with the bulbs just whats said on ebay) . for the bike on the right . these 30watt leds are not great ( I have a couple more sets coming . these came first) . good Daytime running light on low beam but in the dark Fail . High beam is good or not bad trail light(very bright white light) . this is just my first test of these lights I hope to try more soon.
The Rigid lites are an awesome lite ... I love mine. And like you wrote, I use my stock headlites for daytime running lites. The other LED worklites seem pretty brite as well, but I'm just a fan of the Rigid lites ... however, they are pricey !! Nice comparison, THANKS for shar'in !!
thank you for watching and the comments Gunny . we like the Rigid lights as well . just debating on if we will get a 10" Rigid E series bar or try the Totron 12" light that Slyder695 just did a comparison on (good video ) for my wifes bike . but these headlights replacements were fairly cheap to try.
Things that work good and cost less are always a good investment !!
Good test Marc, Thank you.
No question if you do night riding it would be worth it to use the best headlights available.
I have been considering this especially if for any reason we got caught late in the forest where stumps can cause tie rod end mishaps. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching Pete.
these LEDs for the headlights aren't as efficient as I'd hoped . you need to spend good money for headlight LEDs..
you don't need a big light bar or spend a lot of money to get a good quality light bar.
and every little bit helps with these tired eyes. lol
The SilverStars just came from any auto parts store just a standard light for any H4 replacement . And the 55/65 just means High-Low beam wattage. The SilverStars were a big improvement over the stock lighting. At least in the bush anyway . And thanks for watching
This was interesting. The 55/65 did not look much bright than the stock 35/35. The Cree LED on bright looked quite a bit brighter than the 55/65 on bright. What doe the "35/35" & "55/65" stand for? Where did you buy the Silverstar from? I might have more questions for you after I go do a little research now - lol. Thanx Marc
