I’m amazed that all that starter trying didn’t send out the magic smoke. They built things sturdy back then.
I’m pretty sure there’s a starter issue and no where to buy one… it’ll be a field rebuild for sure
Epic truck! I'm currently trying to figure out my two speed rear & and I can confirm it's slow and slower. I was at about 52 mph @3000 RPM in 5th gear and "high" in my '69 C5500, that trucks offspring. (Thanks, magic keychain.)

Looking up the Scandinavian names (a Viking obviously needs one), ran across "Freydis." Erik the Red's daughter. It's probably not pronounced, "Free dis" truck up, but it seems apt.

Always wanted to stick one of them trucks on a k-20 frame with a Perkins 345 or a two stroke Detroit with a 5 speed clarkson and divorce 205 transfer case. Or just put a diesel in the truck frame.
