Torque Test Channel, they test all sorts of things. I remember the video showing the gas powered impact wrench. Don't recall the results. They even built a gas powered impact wrench. They removed the electric parts out of a battery powered impact and installed a gas engine in place of the electric parts. I like watching that channel.
We called them bance guns here in the uk and i believe they still use them , used on railway changing fish plates and chair fastenings, the sockets were held on with a pin and a rubber rings the pins use to bend, you could get a cradle that could be put on the rails to help in carry and take the weight removing fish bolts, but we just used them by hand and after a shift you knew you had been using them 👍👍
One trick we used "BACK IN THE DAY" to set the Super Glue was Baking Soda. Just sprinkle the Baking Soda on the seam where you see the oozing glue, and it will set quicker and form a strong bond. Love your Channel, Taryl! And....there's your dinner 🫵🏻
You can also get an activator, just remember to get the glue bottle away from it before you spray. You only make that mistake once when you have a solid bottle of ca glue.
My hubby's maternal grandfather worked for the SouthernRail- way in his younger days...not sure if he ever used this "dbl smacker", but H.H.Peeples probably knew about it... 33 years in the Laborers Union in Boston and I’d never seen one of these till I was hired by a company that did railroad work. Like you mentioned Taryl Most companies have switched over to Battery powered Dewalt and Milwaukee impact guns since they are so much easier/ convenient to use. The only problem the battery tools have a much greater tendency to get “lost” than the 40lb gas powered ones 😂
When i was a kid we used gas drills for drilling holes in maple trees for spouts to collect sap to make syrup. Much better than using a bit and brace. One guy I worked for used a regular corded drill with a genset in a trailer to tap trees. Dragging the cord around was a PITA.
And the MOWER THAT DRIPPED OIL.......fricken hilarious !!!!! That 'final seal job' was DA BOMB. Be fun to light that thing up, full throttle, and see how long it takes before it burst into flames.
Taryl to hold the socket on all you need is a pin through it and an o-ring that what we used when I worked in a Track work shop Love the Videos keep them coming Thanks
It has a "Two smoker" on the back, file that phrase away for later use. My Sunday is complete, thanks for the show! Should get the mowers serviced for summer. It's early summer here in the southern hemisphere. And yes, our engines spin counter clockwise here. Kind regards, Uncle D
I wood have used some j b weld epoxy to build up around outside if the assembly halves . Love your videos. Started in first grade going to the repair shops with my dad in 1959. The old Clintons , power products, reo and briggs and scrappins!!! The reo was a horizontal shaft with a rightangle adapter gearbox to the grass blade (18” blade).
3m and sem autobody products has the thick crazy glue, also comes with a pump spray that hardens the glue instanty. Sem also makes multi purpose panel adhesive. That bonds plastics steel aluminium awsome product, 24 hour cure time.
I used a gas powered impact for tightening anchor bolts that went around 300 ft in the ground then they had to be tightened to spec with a 5 ft long torque wrench named Bertha lol. Come to think of it they did switch to electric impacts half way through the job reason for being we had to stand them straight up on the bolts and people were getting gassed out in the dig out were the bolt were to be anchored.
Taryl, first of all, I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from them! But I have a problem that I’m not sure how to fix! I have a friend that has a John Deere JS45 walk behind self propelled mower. It has a Breaks and Scrapem’ model 12S502 0114 B1 engine. The engine has a primer bulb, no choke, that is located on an extended part on the lower part of the air filter housing. I can prime the carb by pouring gas directly into the carb and it will start and keep running. Oh, I also put a new carb on it because the old one was full of water and corroded like you wouldn’t believe, Anyway, if I let the mower set until later or the next day, I try to prime it with the bulb and it will not fire off. Carburetor is exactly the same as the original one. Can you help me out with any suggestions to get it to prime with the bulb? Thank you sir in advance!
You guys should get one of those Service body Pickups (with all the toolboxes and compartments on each side) so you can put all of the common spare parts and your tools in there and go to calls and be able to fix it up on site without needing to bring it back to the shop. You can pick them up (pickup geddit? hehe) cheap at auctions all the time, especially when local government gets rid of their current fleet to buy new ones, they like having shiny new stuff for some reason, I dunno that seems to be the case most times when the taxpayer is picking up the bill..
Taryl, thats a Tanaka motor on that nut choocher! I wonder if they left the old lable on under the Racine on the recoil? Id love to have one of those for my trucks .
We use the snap on 3/4 drivve for semi's. But yeah instead of a box truck with a compressor for on to go tire changes. It would be nice to have that. The snapon 3/4 pnuematic only weighs 28lbs. The Ingersoll Rand weighs 40lbs. I've snapped lugs on a peterbilt with that Ingersoll rand. I hate both of them. I'm sure the battree powered ones were welcomed by the railroad workers haha. - Detroit
grouse work Taryl mate i love those 2 stroke aka 2 cycle units and yep a good handy unit to have where cordless and power and even air powered ones cannot always match where they are needed most but yeah an easy fix for sure in your case and cheers from Australia 🐨🐑🦘🌴🇦🇺 or the land down under to your area and i do believe throttle trigger assembly parts are still available for purchase if you know where to look on the Internet too from eBay to Amazon etc like you have shown us and besides that have well torqued day too. 😃😉
Got the primer bulb backwards it draws from the tank and pushes through the carb and from the carb return pipe straight to tank.. That's how we have always done it in SA
I have a Tanaka drill for lineman use, much better than a bit and brace! years later when DeWalt came out with battery powered hammer drills, a coworker broke his wrist when the drill was set to "drill" mode instead of " hammer" mode, the drill bit stopped but the tool quickly twisted his wrist out of normal range of motion.
I'd love to see Taryl rebuild one of the old Briggs flat head 320000 series engines! I've got one I want to do but I'm hesitant without the master's expertise showing me the way.
I have a JD 425 , Kawasaki motor , 54” deck , mid 1990’s model , when I engage the blades the power drops drastically & I have to go real slow especially in taller grass . Have you ran into issues like this ? If so how’d you repair it ? I am a subscriber .
Taryl, that impact wrench is possibly made to open the hatches on the bottom of tank cars for cattle feed, grain, beans, etc, or, the most likely use would be for tightening or loosening bolts on rail plates. Where I used to work, they had air powered ones
Waha -You wish you had a crew? You know how much that costs? Really we used those impacts all the time to tighten bolts in joint bars. @@nathantoth4185
I used one to tighten track bolts on the joint bars, that’s what they are designed for. Different size sockets are available. The socket is held in place by a pin and a rubber o ring that sits in that groove on the socket.
Hi if you add baking soda to the super glue it will get super hard super fast just sprinkle it over the super glue in no time it will be rock hard!!!!!!
Damn taryls got a bunch of them drills and impacts and I've never seen one of these in person that I recall seen plenty of those augers and stuff but these are a first for me
Oddly, I just happened to watch the video where they were torque testing one of these yesterday. Strange timing and strange that youtube recommended it to me.
I wonder how difficult it'd be to convert those into starters for racing engines. The racing crews use battery powered ones with heavy lead/acid batteries. Could be an interesting project and way to recycle instead of scrapping them.

I’ll have to check that out! I assume they had to have built some kind of gear reduction to the input / hammer shaft on the impact end of the setup?
Yeah that channel is awesome, taryl sure didn't want to even get the name right....
Thanks! I love your program

I still use that trick want to make super Glue to be more Effective add Baking Soda.
I keep some in a Small squeeze Bottle

Love the video. Forgot to check the oil in that impact! 😂
Nice to see Carla in the skit. You need to add her to more skits.
Is that Taryl's wife>??
Try using UV light hardened resin to hold it while setting and drying ,and for putting the mating surfaces together.
He should have 3D printed a new one. 🤔

Put one those larger Unicorn log splitter bits on that tool for forcible entry on locked metal doors? Say good bye to the door jambs and the hinges.

That would look nice next to my 2 gas powered Ryobi Sawalls. Got those from a salvage yard.
Thats a first for me, I never knew they made those. It's got power Thats for sure. 😊interesting.
Well so far when it comes to chainsaws, battery powered stuff can't keep up with gas powered saws.
Great Video, it would be fun to see Taryl design and build a stirling engine.
I was like a kid for the first time watching an off road truck race. I wanted to see carnage on the crankshaft!!
Those Racine 2cycle 1" impact guns are over $1,000 used. I'm sure at least twice that new. Pretty cool.

Like to have one for collecting. Baking soda makes the glue harden near instant and work where it wouldn't without the soda.
Yes still use them today for the rail road
Wow. I have worked on petrol breakers, but I've never seen a petrol powered nut gun.
I wonder what torque it can produce?
I use to do tractor trailers tires and the air impacts we used was the size of that impact
I would love to have one of them gas powered impacts
I wish that I had known the simple “purge ball” line trick when I was in the industry. I usually found out the hard way.

try sprinkling some baking soda over your super glue next time, it isn't pretty but it sets up much faster and stronger

Stop it guys you cracking me up😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅
Sell one to Andrew Camarata. He has all kinds of heavy equipment with giant bolts holding the wheels on.
You should use a bicycle hand brake lever assembly for that trigger replacement.
That would have come in handy when I used to work on the Space Shuttle.
Oooh Weee. That flex-seal money.
Those might be good for starting high compression racing engines. Like on those big bore hill climbing bikes.
add a post hole auger? That might make it have a new life.
Thanks taryl 🖖
it's got a torque cam adjustment that prevents over torquing or snapping fasteners
A compression release trigger for an old motorcross bike would work on that. They're like tiny clutch leavers
You and Mrs Dactyl need to have another egg. Then name it squirrell Dactyl
Add baking soda to your super glue….sand, rinse, and repeat
Ain't those old Racine Power equipment stuff tied in with Chicago Pneumatic
Sometimes you set it high blip clock wise a couple times then set to counter clockwise.
You need some CA glue activator spray for those finicky parts.
