Yeah they don't need it. Apple who has only 30% intake makes 900 grand daily. Roblox makes around 1.6 mil a day. It's just to ruin him. I'm pretty sure that being unable to pay a fine gets you a free ticket to jail.

These issues are really just scratching the surface. Besides this, you correctly mentioned an incredibly toxic developer community, which is true to a pretty wide extent. Their APIs, servers and other services are so frequently down that you can almost schedule after it. Eventual fail every now and then is obviously to be expected, but it's really infuriating when it's every 3rd week that you experience a server shutdown as a developer. It's come to the point where I so often regret just not choosing Unity instead, it would have been so much easier. All the while more & more people join into the Roblox dev world thinking it's profitable/fun, when in reality it's damn hard to even enter into the competition, let alone stand out. Roblox has become a shitshow by now, and their PR disasters are just a part of it, it's obvious that they don't give two shits about it. Get your shit together, Roblox.

@@erikbregnsbo9962 Lua (Luau) is a really simple language there's nothing special about it, any other language is significantly easier to pick up once you're experienced with it, unless you make monthly income (in dollars) I don't think it would be too hard for you to just switch I've used unity myself before, it has a really beginner-friendly (and significantly more intuitive than studio) system for managing objects, you can make really cool shit in a short timespan also you haven't mentioned the job market, it's a complete joke, finding talented/dedicated people is next to impossible and unless you're on the front page, there is 0 hope of hiring anyone full-time with how much roblox pays

For example, there is that one video on his channel about a streamer friend of his being "harassed by DayZ veterans" because some guy apparently jumped out of a bush and killed him in that same game in an RP oriented server, when in reality the guy simply happened to be around a bush when he came up to the streamer for the kill. That "DayZ veteran" was banned from the server and he sometime later published a video on TH-cam showing footage of him clearly not hiding behind the bush when he came up to that streamer, proving that the he should've never been banned. The worst part is that Charlie still didn't acknowledge it in full, by saying along the lines of "I dunno, I was simply told by the guy that he got jumped" on stream once and that's it. There's also a more minor moment where he said Battlefield 2042 was good and it only needed a bit of patching to make it work better since it had "a few issues" back when he talked about it on his moist meter, when in reality the game was actually in a really bad state, to the point where many did not enjoy it and saw it as a complete regression from the past games. It took him until this month to release a video where he admitted that the game is way worse than he initially thought and that it's most likely not gonna be fixed. Despite that, I still like watching Charlie, because he makes great content and is overall a good guy. That doesn't mean that he is perfect, no one is, but it's alright to make a mistake. His charisma and intelligence steer him out of trouble well, but everyone ends up there all the same at some point. He is just as human as any other guy on the planet, so I don't hold anything against him and just enjoy the content.

The lawsuit is a scare tactic, they know that their accusations won’t hold water in court. They’re trying to scare people who criticize their platform so that the critics remain silent, Sounds to me like a lot of the people involved in the game are into some seriously shady stuff and they don’t want people exposing their dirty laundry.

Ruben Sim never called this guy out, but there’s this one Roblox TH-camr named “Fave” who’s been a pretty popular figure in the Roblox community since 2007, and has recently been exposed last September for grooming minors through his own PUBLIC DISCORD and getting them to send him explicit images through Snapchat. Basically preying on his young fans that looked up to him. As you would guess, Roblox refused to de-platform this guy and so did Discord. So his admins decided to take the initiative to close his Discord server (which was still partnered.) and close his Roblox group and take all of his Roblox clothing assets off-sale WHICH HE WAS STILL MAKING MONEY OFF OF. And as of writing this, his Roblox account and games are all still up. So despite being inactive for several months now, he still has the ability to come back to an online platform mainly used by minors even though being a known predator.
I remember seeing a Ruben Sim vid where he was explaining how ROBLOX took down his games for "blood/gore" which violates their rules but also ROBLOX has officially promoted a game called Bloodfest which had more blood and gore, not to mention the countless other games which also have it.
Companies (especially gaming ones) have been openly antagonistic towards their customers for years now so this _shouldn't_ be a surprise. But I'm still shocked by how much they just...don't care about their userbase whatsoever. Especially when _kids_ are involved.
I think this case should spawn a case against Roblox. Their stance was that they wouldn't punish off site behavior, which I feel they should protect them from blame if someone does something off their site without being punished; after all, they did say they don't punish off site activity. Now, however, they've shown they Do punish off site activity, meaning they should now be held accountable for the stuff people have done off their site. They shouldn't be allowed to just pick and choose whenever it's convenient for them.

It's hard to deny that in the near future america will be going through harder times, and I think people are realizing the games that media/politicians play. Ones the game's over, there are no rules. This sounds like conspiracy talk but I see it as necessary to talk about what could happen if government were to collapse, there's so many different bubbles and economic issues piling on, not to mention global and local environmental issues and supply chain issues, and you have a recipe for the spiciest chapter of America's history. As a roblox dev of 10+ years and have been DevExing since it first came out, I would find it much easier to pay the devs i work with if roblox didn't give me only 20% of the sells my games make(Sometimes even less like 8% to 15%, I calculated how much I should have made off my game pass sells alone since I can see the number of sell and can times it by 0.3(30% up front cut roblox takes) but just what i should've earned from gamepass sells alone was millions of robux above what the game made with game pass sells and developer product sells. I had a game that was around 20th to 30th in the top earning category on ROBLOX during November and December and I was only making like $500 to $800 a day from my game. It's still a lot but I got a team of 5+ people working with me and if ROBLOX is giving me bread crumbs it makes it harder to afford to pay people.
Also i think i made a typo talking about the game pass sells, the game pass sells alone after the 30% cut was millions of robux above what i actually got with game passes and developer product sells. But I think everyone that read the first comment got what i was saying

It’s very unfortunate that it had to go this way, but this is probably the best choice considering the fact that essentially, his livelihood was on the line. Instead of roblox deleting the platform or trying to hide all the accusations, they should come forward and say they will change. I think roblox should become better after being extremely exposed because in 1 month its probably going to finally hit them.

These issues are really just scratching the surface. Besides this, you correctly mentioned an incredibly toxic developer community, which is true to a pretty wide extent. Their APIs, servers and other services are so frequently down that you can almost schedule after it. Eventual fail every now and then is obviously to be expected, but it's really infuriating when it's every 3rd week that you experience a server shutdown as a developer.
It's come to the point where I so often regret just not choosing Unity instead, it would have been so much easier. All the while more & more people join into the Roblox dev world thinking it's profitable/fun, when in reality it's damn hard to even enter into the competition, let alone stand out.
Roblox has become a shitshow by now, and their PR disasters are just a part of it, it's obvious that they don't give two shits about it. Get your shit together, Roblox.
The only reason I'm stuck developing on roblox is because my crappy laptop can't handle anything else let alone any slightly above average game

I've used unity myself before, it has a really beginner-friendly (and significantly more intuitive than studio) system for managing objects, you can make really cool shit in a short timespan
also you haven't mentioned the job market, it's a complete joke, finding talented/dedicated people is next to impossible and unless you're on the front page, there is 0 hope of hiring anyone full-time with how much roblox pays

What's even weirder with the whole SEGA situation is that sega is not known for copyrighting sonic fanmade games. @@p_owlow Not always, unfortunately. Charlie can still attract some bad attention when he messes up once in a while. For example, there is that one video on his channel about a streamer friend of his being "harassed by DayZ veterans" because some guy apparently jumped out of a bush and killed him in that same game in an RP oriented server, when in reality the guy simply happened to be around a bush when he came up to the streamer for the kill. That "DayZ veteran" was banned from the server and he sometime later published a video on TH-cam showing footage of him clearly not hiding behind the bush when he came up to that streamer, proving that the he should've never been banned. The worst part is that Charlie still didn't acknowledge it in full, by saying along the lines of "I dunno, I was simply told by the guy that he got jumped" on stream once and that's it.
There's also a more minor moment where he said Battlefield 2042 was good and it only needed a bit of patching to make it work better since it had "a few issues" back when he talked about it on his moist meter, when in reality the game was actually in a really bad state, to the point where many did not enjoy it and saw it as a complete regression from the past games. It took him until this month to release a video where he admitted that the game is way worse than he initially thought and that it's most likely not gonna be fixed.
Despite that, I still like watching Charlie, because he makes great content and is overall a good guy. That doesn't mean that he is perfect, no one is, but it's alright to make a mistake. His charisma and intelligence steer him out of trouble well, but everyone ends up there all the same at some point. He is just as human as any other guy on the planet, so I don't hold anything against him and just enjoy the content.
You know the world is ending when corps start defending the bad stuff and attacking the good stuff. Luckily, there's ppl like him and us to defend the good and attacking the bad.

Ruben Sim never called this guy out, but there’s this one Roblox TH-camr named “Fave” who’s been a pretty popular figure in the Roblox community since 2007, and has recently been exposed last September for grooming minors through his own PUBLIC DISCORD and getting them to send him explicit images through Snapchat. Basically preying on his young fans that looked up to him. As you would guess, Roblox refused to de-platform this guy and so did Discord. So his admins decided to take the initiative to close his Discord server (which was still partnered.) and close his Roblox group and take all of his Roblox clothing assets off-sale WHICH HE WAS STILL MAKING MONEY OFF OF. And as of writing this, his Roblox account and games are all still up. So despite being inactive for several months now, he still has the ability to come back to an online platform mainly used by minors even though being a known predator.
I remember seeing a Ruben Sim vid where he was explaining how ROBLOX took down his games for "blood/gore" which violates their rules but also ROBLOX has officially promoted a game called Bloodfest which had more blood and gore, not to mention the countless other games which also have it.

Their stance was that they wouldn't punish off site behavior, which I feel they should protect them from blame if someone does something off their site without being punished; after all, they did say they don't punish off site activity.

As a roblox dev of 10+ years and have been DevExing since it first came out, I would find it much easier to pay the devs i work with if roblox didn't give me only 20% of the sells my games make(Sometimes even less like 8% to 15%, I calculated how much I should have made off my game pass sells alone since I can see the number of sell and can times it by 0.3(30% up front cut roblox takes) but just what i should've earned from gamepass sells alone was millions of robux above what the game made with game pass sells and developer product sells. I had a game that was around 20th to 30th in the top earning category on ROBLOX during November and December and I was only making like $500 to $800 a day from my game. It's still a lot but I got a team of 5+ people working with me and if ROBLOX is giving me bread crumbs it makes it harder to afford to pay people.

It’s very unfortunate that it had to go this way, but this is probably the best choice considering the fact that essentially, his livelihood was on the line.

100%. It is a GIANT red flag that they are using this much resources and time to suppress this guy. It's so obvious but until enough people get sick of this tyrannical bullshit of billion dollar corporations abusing power to shut the little guy up it will never stop. We need all of Roblox community posting videos non stop about them and I'd love to see them sue all of their player base.
