I love how Malgus in the recent cinematic shows that being a Sith is not just lightning, red lightsabers and yellow eyes, its also the art of deception and spreading the darkness within self onto others
Ya dude, he’s super cunning and deceptive. He’s also great at masking his cruelty with compassion….. a true villain!
@YūGen and that is...?
I hope we get to learn what his plans actually are soon cause so far legacy of the sith has been very disappointing in terms of moving the plot forward
That is why I love Rebels' Maul. On Malachor he is clearly trying to deceive Ezra, but speaks like he is his friend, like he is trying to help him.
@@obi-wankenobi1329 “from my point of view the jedi are evil”
Malgus was the Vader of his time. Absolute legend of a character.
I agree
With limbs and not burned
He is one of my favourite sith after Tenebrae or vitiate.
@@DragonFist9323 and no master
Yep, just without any shred of redemption
The old republic is probably my favorite time period in Star Wars. Keep up all the phenomenal work!!
mine too! tons of jedi and sith, lightsaber battles left and right, most exciting timeline for me. i hope they make old republic movies at some point. would be cool to see like 40 lightsabers going at each other in live action
I agree even though it's been explored so much it still has that element of mystery which makes it enticing.
I agree too. Just total warfare in a galactic-scale that the movies doesnt show us.
Ancient technology, Ancient sith, Galaxy-Devouring Evils, World-killing Superweapons.
That's Star Wars at its finest.
We need an old republic show/movie, written by a good writer this time
@@Uncivil_Dreams did you mean the acolyte😉 i know its trash but it’s something
0:49, just a quick correction if anyone in the comments are confused, that was said a little bit backwards. BBY is "Before the Battle of Yavin(Episode 4), not "Battles Before Yavin," as that would be counting battles instead of years before or after a specific battle.
Yeah I noticed that too lol
@@moussamiller4812 Completely forgot about this, haha. Thanks for the reply, might rewatch the video later today. Been wanting to refresh my memory on some of the lore.
I would like to see you compare Malgus to other Sith Lords such as Vader and see how they stack up
EvanNova95 does a great job at that
@@darthdarthbinkss I just sub’d. Thanks for the recommendation!
Malgus vs. Vadar who wins in a fight?
@@krygerm Malgus wins eyes closed. Vader would not even pass trials on Korriban in old rep era timeline, sorry :)

When the Old Republic trailers came out all those years ago and I saw Malgus I was instantly hooked on the character
These videos are much appreciated bro. As someone who has never played The Old Republic (online) it's cool to learn about Malgus. I've always loved all TOR cinematic trailers.
The Hyperspace War stuff is DOPE. I love those old Tales of the Jedi comics! Have a lot of them. Exar Kun & Ulic were my favorite from the series that I read.
Props to theory for providing explanation and backstory to these popular characters.
Star Wars Theory never fails to disappoint his fans. He is an incredible person and fan.
I have spoken.
Neve fails to disappoint??
Mandalorian is cringe
Bro read the crap you wrote…
They should make an animated series focusing on the old republic then later a movie
they need to wait a few years until we get better writers
unnecessary
Malgus is an absolute BA. Big reason I love playing Swtor. Such an amazing character. We need some The Old Republic Series!
Canonically speaking, Since Darth Nihilus and Darth Revan are canon, Darth Malgus could be canon aswell, he was in a deleted concept in the rise of Skywalker, so I'll say most likely, and they don't have backstories yet, canon works differently than Legends, so it'll be interesting to see their backstories in canon. Also if you didn't know:
Darth Revan was made canon in a deleted scene of the clone wars, he essentially told The Son what to do, he now also has his own canon wookiepedia article.
Darth Nihilus was a statue in the rise of Skywalker, some fans pointed that out. Don't know which one tho.
Kinda glad the Revan scene was deleted in the clone wars as it doesn’t make sense Revan or bane were advising the son when the ones were literal force gods and more powerful then any Sith or Jedi ever. However I do wish they included him somewhere maybe when yoda visited Moraband or something.
I think the other sith is not Malgus but bares resemblance to Tulak horde
@@thegreatid3595 it's not Moraband it's Korriban
Malgus was actually undefeatable in his prime. He had removed every liability he had including his lover , fiancee or some might consider slave just in order to have no weaknesses. (For context read the old republic books or play kotor games)
*SWTOR game
Malgus has evolved as a sith throughtout swtor, it shows that you can have character development and still remain consistent with the character's roots i.e. He's still a sith but he has broadened his horizons.
He gets defeated in SWTOR a lot though
I am always, ALWAYS here for Old Republic content. Malgus feels like he has so much story still yet to be told, and I want it all.
I absolutely cannot wait for you to eventually cover darth nox and his/her powerful force ability of force walking
Great video man. You did well covering The Old Republic lore! You should make videos like this more often. The only issue I had is that you skipped the rise of the Sith Triumvirate, which was lead by Darth Traya and her two students, Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion. They gathered what remained of Revan & Malak’s forces after the Jedi Civil War and, with the help of Traya’s brilliant teachings and strategies, nearly wiped out the Jedi using stealth and bating tactics; less than 100 remained. This was the first Jedi Purge that took place before the Sacking of Coruscant and before Order 66.
Traya, like many Sith masters before her, was eventually betrayed by her apprentices and left for dead. She survived and took up her original name, Kreia, and sought a way to get revenge on her apprentices. This is also when she changed her philosophy and way of thinking. Having mastered both the Light and Dark sides of the Force, her eyes were opened to its true nature; and she hated it. So much so that Kreia wanted to destroy the Force. To “save” the galaxy from being enslaved by its will. The solution to both of her problems presented itself in the form of Meetra Surik, also known as The Exile.
Meetra’s story is a long one, and if anyone is interested, I highly advice playing Knights of the Old Republic 2 and reading the legends novel Revan, which tells the story of Revan & Meetra after the events of their games well (to a degree). But anyway, The Exile was a wound in the Force. It’s a long story, but through this, Kreia saw the potential to destroy all her enemies; including the Force itself. So she manipulated her. Kreia retrained Meetra and taught her to feel the Force again, and unleashed her new apprentice on Sion & Nihilus when the time was right. And when they were both dead, Kreia dawned the title of Darth Traya one last time and betrayed the Exile.
Traya went to the heart of Malachor V and gave her final student an ultimatum: either Meetra kills her, or Traya kills Meetra, and through her death, the Force itself. Meetra used everything Traya had taught her to defeat her former master, and saved the galaxy. I hope I did a good job of explaining without going too deep into everything 😅 I’m happy to answer questions in the comment section if anyone is curious to know more though 😁.
Finally a video about Malgus I've wanted to hear about him on this channel for such a long time now
Bro awesome video I actually know nothing about the old republic so this video is awesome thank you. And keep up the great work
Bro malgus is like my favorite sith! I appreciate you talking about him, I really hope we get more stuff about him
Thank you for having a good honest title and thumbnail and having great interesting content without having to resort to cheap click bait tricks. TH-cam NEEDS more TH-camrs like yourself. Great videos and material 👍🏿. Keep it up. You've earned my subscription and thumbs up click.
You know it’s gonna be a good day when the first thing you see on your feed is a SWT Old Republic video
Its ee years since i played those games so a refresher on the time line would be great.
Dude is such a sick character. Every cinematic with him is a masterpiece
Book of Sith has a section on Malgus’ campaign journal with side commentary from Vader.
Darth Vader admired Darth Malgus except when it came to Malgus’ use of battle droids.
General Theory a Darth Malgus video Lore..You Rock 🤘
We need to see more of Darth malgus
Love old republic era, lookin forward for ur videos bhai
I remember leveling a Sith Warrior at the start of SWTOR and thinking how awesome Darth Malgus was during the game. I was so disappointed when players were forced to side with the Sith Emperor and seemingly kill Malgus that I stopped playing the game and never picked it up again.
I'm really glad he's back, but it's been so many years and expansions that I'm not sure I could start playing again now.
My response head canon for my inquisitor was "Excuse me but I am a dark council member, I've killed a lot of fucking people to get this position and I'm not about to give it up, but I do agree with your beliefs"
Darth Malgus is another reason why we need Kotor/Swtor Old Republic era movies/tv series!
ive always thought this when seeing the games cinematic trailers! i get so pumped for it but now. only if its made my fans and not disney
Awesome video! Iv always wanted to know more of Malgus. Keep up the great work man.
Super hyped you're doing Old Republic videos!
Hey Theory, awesome video on such a badass Sith Lord that tanks everything. I had a small suggestion for a video since Kenobi is coming out soon. Since you love lightsaber hilts, why not dive into the history of Obi-Wan's lightsabers throughout the series. I remember growing up with the sequels and noticing his lightsabers change drastically from one design to that closest of A New Hope but never understood why. Just some food for thought, keep up the awesome work, man!
Love the legends stuff theory, and I’ve been loving the eldin ring streams. Keep on posting this awesome content.
I want more of the True Sith Empire
The old republic has been my favorite time period of star wars since I first played kotor in 2007 it's so full of mystery and interesting characters that I feel has been missing from star wars since Disney took over.
i feel like malgus is what vader could of been if he didnt get that badly wounded against obi wan. same sort of armor, maybe even up to date armor, force lightning, absolute brute strength, with the mobility
I love how you are smart with ur content, it foreshadows future Disney films/series and gives context
I’ve been craving to know more about the old republic(as I don’t know much about that time period.)
Looking forward to the next few weeks!
PLS DO A VIDEO ON THE NEW KENOBI IMAGES !!! He looks great
This is stuff I’ve been waiting for, this is stuff I like to dive in the most compared to all the Star Wars films that we have, this history going way back to before episode 1 is what makes it interesting for me, can’t wait for the next video.
What if Maul was trained by Talzin instead of Sidious?
Sidious would be dead, Talzin was one of Sidious’s biggest threats while he ruled, if Talzin had Maul, he would listen to her every command
@@charlienorris806 Hardly, with Sidious actually trying he would have killed everyone on Dathomire himself.
Bro they intro was AWESOME man! 🤩
Malgus is such a bad ass, and Marr is this epic warrior/statesman
Malgus goes wherever He damn well pleases lol.
THE TRAILER JUST CAME OUT
Im here after I watched you lambo video. I had no idea theory was riding dirty lmao
Theory, I figured you're too young to know about the "Tales Of The Jedi " comic series, but you had pages from from the 1995 story that was titled Dark Lords Of The Sith (that showeed Ulic and Exar joining forces and Exar becoming Ulic'c Master as Sith Lords. I remember my dad giving me Knights Of The Old Republic for my 24th birthday in 2001(I'm 45) and also Dark Lords Of The Sith as well a few years later. The art was pretty good, and the writing too. The story of Ulic Qel-Droma, and also Exar Kun is no ,onger cannon, and that is wrong. It's such as great era for stories of Jedi vs. Sith! You mentioned Naga Sadow, and yes, he lived 1,000 years before Ulic, and Exar. His story was told in Golden Age Of The Sith Empire and continued in The Fall Of The Sith Empire. You had showed pages from those series, I immediately recognized Naga Sadow! That's really cool you know who he is. These two series were published around 1997. You are very knowledgeable! Good research man! Wow, I figured no one really gave a damn about that era(and it's been relagated to "Legends", which I hate, because, it was such I cool era!
I own those old Dark Horse published Star Wars Tales Of the Jedi comics too! But I never played KOTOR OR KOTOR 2. Last year I have I started playing The Old Republic on Steam. I created a Jedi Gaurdian and a Sith Warrior. I don't play as much as I used to, so I haven't encountered Darth Malgus in the main campaign. Maybe I will enventually, I'd like to know why he is such a powerful Sith Lord and why people think he is such as bad ass. Despite not knowing much about Darth Malgus, this is great video man!
Malgus vs Vader fan fic video needs to be made !
We need a Darth Malgus series asap!
They need a film showing this type of stuff
love these historical recaps..one suggestion..can you put a flag of some kind up on the screen maybe in the corner which indicates when something is canon vs if its legends? sounds trivial but would be helpful..thanks for all you do
So excited to get back into the old republic era!
BRO I LOVED THAT INTRO
Random but, they revealed the first images from the Kenobi series today!
Trailer will be dropping any time soon right !
@@lukeharwood3922 Hoping so yeah. If not, that's when the fandom will say in one voice: "I... was hoping for Kenobi" lol
Yeah that magazine cover is sick, I love it. I wonder if we will see Kenobi age any in this series? Or will they just kinda leave that to the imagination how he got so old looking so quick lol.
Yeah it looks badass. Kenobi looks perfect and the Inquisitor looks awesome. Also I did not realize they are bringing back the same actor who played Uncle Owen in the PT. Very cool stuff.
The era of the swtor game is probably my favourite time in starwars.
I'm so glad neither you or Josh missed a beat. That's what I'm talking about. More relatable than the sequels. 🤣
You should do this for a living! That flowed like a movie
thank you for the great content
Theory can you do a breakdown on the recent Kenobi images that have released?
One of my favourite characters. I hope they make him canon
you should do a movie series mabye like 1 hour episodes every couple weeks, going through the history of starwars from a person's perspective but dont worry about crazy effects, you can use the slideshow to show pictures. you could have a few people write the scripts & treat it like a play more than an actual movie.
The old republic era is the best era, period. Just imagine a movie based on Mandalorian Wars + Revan (ofc, NOT directed by Disney). The story in the old republic is so, so rich that put to shame any other story in the SW universe. Also the ppl who created to the stories in SWTOR were one of the best ever written, and some of the stories like of the Agent can be done a trilogy alone.
I really enjoyed this video! Keep it up, can't wait for the next one 👍
Need more malgus content, one of my favorite Sith
Aw why thank you.
I can't and won't stop hoping for the day that someone, ANYONE will make a show or several movies during the old republic era, where we get to see the sith and jedi in constant battle/war amongst sooooooo many other things. I don't care who does it, just make it happen please! As always I LOVE your content Mr.Theory
Hello Love that idea you guys talked about on nerd theory on having fan or guest members on for some streams❤️😊👍🏻

When did Nihlius and Revan become canon ??
@@darthfalcon4055 I believe it was in the art book for the rise of skywalker, there were trooper legions named after Sith, one of them was the Revan legion and another one was the Nihilus legion
@@darthfalcon4055 Darth Revan was made canon in a deleted scene of the clone wars, he essentially told The Son what to do, he now also has his own canon wookiepedia article.
Darth Nihilus was a statue in the rise of Skywalker, some fans pointed that out. Don't know which one tho.
@@childishisnotachild7277 I didn’t know the deleted scene was canon, that’s interesting
@@TheRevanant1 It isn't canon and was deleted literally because it made no sense. Revan did not die a Sith Lord nor do Sith spirits have free reign and are typically always trapped and confined to a tortured existence. Sith Lords instructing the literal embodiment of the dark side was also silly in that scene.
Thanks for this Theory. Amazing video!

Who do we think would win in a fight. Darth Malgus or Darth Bane?
Malgus cause it's been said many times in universe that as time passed a lot of jedi and sith teachings and techniques were lost which means malgus may know a lot more when it comes to the force so the fight would weigh in his favor not to mention malgus is an excellent lightsaber duelist even darth vader used some of malgus's lightsaber techniques to overcome the limitations of his suit.
Malgus is awesome
